Roma to make first bid for Denilson at £5million
According to a report today Roma are considering making a £5m bid for Arsenal’s Brazilian midfielder Denilson after he said yesterday that he was keen on making a move to Italy or Spain.
Denilson said that he had decided as much as eight months ago that he would be moving on this summer, so it would be no surprise if his agent hasn’t been working behind the scenes to find himself another club for quite some time.
“A footballer’s career is over very quickly so it is time for me to move on. This has been the worst season of my life,” Denilson said. “I made up my mind eight months ago. But I haven’t said anything because I did not want to disrupt the team during the season……
“……Based on how things have gone this season, I think it’s time for a change. So I am flying home to Brazil on Sunday and I’m hoping I can make a fresh start in Spain or maybe Italy.”
You would think from that statement that his agent has told him about offers from Spanish or Italian clubs, and it is highly possible that he would be happy to move to Roma if they promised him first-team football, but will Wenger be happy with just £5m?

@Ashlucky, Methink it is Wenger that is stupid not to have sold him 8 months ago. He would have commanded at least 8 million 8 months ago.
But even then, 5 million is good enough. Let’s just hope someone will be willing to pay 8 million for Rosicky and maybe another 5 for Eboue, 4 for Squirrel, and maybe 15 for Bendtner. That 37 million which gives us enough funds to buy players.

I feel sorry for denilson, always being played out of position the slammed for not performing well.
You can’t expect an attackive midfielder to play holding, because naturally the role don’t suit him.
I guarantee you when he leaves he will be playing great week in week out for his club, as he will be played in his correct position and will get regular starts.

Every1 knows this, and the reason why he’s leaving is cause of Wilshire, the come back of Ramsey, Fabregas, Nasri [Is going to be playing his position next season], Ricardo Álvarez this new attacking mid we bought,(youtube him Argentinian Kaka) Frimpong will slowly be getting first team football next season, benching it. So he realised that he won’t be playing even if he stayed! He won’t even get first team football at Everton, what makes him think he’s good enough for us, wtf! There was one point when he was in the starting lineup every match along side Fabregas but Wenger didn’t pick him when we lost to United in the CPL,cos he picked Rosicky, another flop! My god where do I start?

rocky, apparently we paid 4 million, so not a great profit at all! but a profit, for what can be said is a mediocre player, who has never showed signs of greatness. Whilst he has on occasion played as the sole def mind, he has more often played alongside song, the same position Wilshere has played in all season, who has impressed more in 8 months than denny has in 6 years. I remember seeing him in an early carling cup game and looked as good as cesc was at the time, but one developed and one regressed. good luck to him, but glad to see him go-bring in parker instead!

whoever said hes an attackive midfielder is an idiot, denilson plays passes sideways and backwards, he only plays it to people who are completely free(including the goalie) because he doesnt take any risks or look forward. Hes also slow and weak and the occasional wonder goal are something anyone can do once in a while, hes the most average player ive ever seen play for arsenal who wenger still decides to play

Ilove Denilson.Denilson is one of the players that made me to continue supporting Arsenal.Denilson ofcourse was unlucky this season to be played in the DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD POSITION instead of ATTACKING where he is quick and offensive.I do not want Arsenal to sell him.

He may not be the fastest player in the world but you can’t doubt his technical ability.
He simply never got a chance to showcase his talents and he was almost always played as a defensive mid, as opposed to an attackive mid.
