Sagna convinced that Fabregas is staying at Arsenal

Posted on May 18, 2011 by admin

It seems that the Arsenal players are pre-empting any tapping up off Cesc Fabregas by Barcelona this summer, and Bacary Sagna is the latest to assure the fans that their captain will still be at the Emirates next season.

Fabregas himself implied this weekend that he was staying, and now Sagna has told Sky Sports when asked if he expected Fabregas to remain: “Of course.” he said confidently. “He is under contract with the team. He is still our captain.

“Unfortunately he was injured, but he will be back soon. We need him badly because he is a good player, he is very talented and everyone knows what he can bring to the team.

“So I am looking forward to playing with him next year.”

Perhaps the rumours will disappear completely now……….

Should Francesc Fabregas leave, you could chalk it up to bad timing. He is the captain of this team, they have not won a trophy in close to a decade and there is major discontent among the fan base toward certain footballers and to a greater extent their manager. Ticket prices are slated to increase for the up coming campaign – is there a more opportune time to leave a storied yet struggling club? Yes, when you’ve accomplished something.

Jules Pit …. they have not won a trophy in close to a decade???? Six years actually which is just over half a decade, please do not exagerate to make things sound worse than they are in order to reinforce your argument.

I think Jules need to put his fact together before he writes. We need fab in the next seasons but i am sure he is closely looking at Aw list of tranfer who will come in, it is the only way to retain him.

Fabregas will only stay if we buy some players, but we need NO speculation this summer, cos if he does stay, it will only mess him up.

we still need our captain and he has 100% chances to stay at the club. we love viva fab as a player and as person. he is home groom and the club always misses him when he is injured. but arsene the coarch needs to buy classic players in his range to end the trophyless sagga

I love him as much as I love Arsenal, he is argubly the best midfild player in Europe. But certainly best passer of the ball in the park if he is fit. If AW doesn’t buy any good lads thn let him go. He jus wants to win trophys. May god bless him.

  10. wtf? says:

easy- buy at least 2-3 players fabregas standards. that would make RVP nasri fabregas plus 3 others which’ll be world class game changers. if you have 5 or 6 world class players in a team, the rest will play better to be amongst those ranks, hence you would have a good team.

    Mick,
Before I get down to the business of tearing your rebuttal apart, I ask you, which number is closer to 10 – Is it five or six?! You further state and I’m paraphrasing here that “I shouldn’t exagerate to make things worse.” You’re having a laugh? Surely you cannot be serious. I’m not suggesting the club is imploding, read my post again line line and show me where I am overreacting.
The facts are these, we have no trophies in close to ten years, Wenger is so consumed with buying on the cheap, it has come back to hurt us with negative results. And now there is talk of selling the mercurial Andrei Arshavin a few years after haggling with Zenit for his signature.
Considering how this campaign has evolved, you’re actually trying to tell me I’m trying to make things worse.
Excuses are no longer being accepted. Based on the reception after the Aston Villa fixture, I think it is safe to say we want results.

I stand by my earlier comment.

Hmm. Could be some gamesmanship by Asinine to get his price up. They all have a limited shelf life we can hardly blame him if he wants to go feeling he has given it a good shoot. I hope he does stay, although I dont think he has much authority as a captain, he doesnt seem to do any real talking and rallying out there.

The way that sagna says “hes under contract with the team” and he is our captain” sounds a bit like they have all been briefed to say that to any press that ask. You dont naturally say of a fellow player “he is under contract” thats just odd and stilted.

Theres also a rumour that the Fabregas injury is nothing important and he ia being punished for that Spanish interview. Maybe far fetched, Who knows. I think the Almunia injury waa certaimly very convenient.

  17. Clarks says:

Not really arsed if fabregas stays or goes, better if he left tbh. Cause if he does stay, the same thing involving him and barca will be brought up again next season and that again will mess head up, which will make him not focus and underachive when playing on matchdays. Let the guy go and we can always get a replacement. If wenger chooses not to buy anyone as usual, ramsey looks like he’s getting back to his oldself. No player is bigger than the club. Look at the insincibles Viera, Pires, Henry, Wiltord, Adams, Bergkamp, Overmas, I would have any of these players back and get rid of fabregas if today was then. We don’t need him, he knows the team are desparate and he still hast come out on skysports or arsenal tv and made it clear. Its pissing me off how everyone thinks he is the only way we can win matches, Van persie is the reason we are number 4 on the table and he doesn’t get the praise fabregas gets. Imagine where on the table we would be if it wasn’t for him????

Read it back to myself… Soz to the spelling mistakes :/

I hope people realise that the same thing with nasri is going to happen, look at the interest he’s getting from inter, madrid even barca want him! So again next season if fab goes nasri is surely going to be the next victim to under perform during matches. Its sad what Wenger is doing to us. Fu*k his philosophy and buy players.

And when I was reading my other post I felt like I was hating on fabregas but I wasn’t, I’m a fan of his but enough is enough and if he isn’t up for being a gooner then times up

loosing fabregas will be a disaster to me he is just irreplacable. this will be the worst mistake since loosing viera so wenger better do everything to hold onto fabregas and buy experienced players not depending on reserves i agree with clark f*ck the philosophy
