Senderos asks Wenger for January transfer

Posted on December 04, 2009 by admin

The Arsenal and Switzerland defender Phillipe Senderos has had enough of being ignored by Arsene Wenger since his return from his loan period at Milan, and is desperate to win back his place in his national team before next summer’s World Cup Finals, so he knows that he will have to leave the Emirates to achieve that goal.

“I have held a meeting with Arsene Wenger and I hope the door has been opened for me to leave Arsenal in January,” Senderos said.

“I need to play regularly if I am to make the 2010 World Cup with Switzerland.

“At the moment I do not have this opportunity and I must now consider my options.”

There have been whispers that Atletico Madrid are interested in securing his services, and he was asked if he would like a move to Spain.

“Spain has one of the best leagues in the world and is very attractive to any footballer,” he replied.

“I have played matches against Spanish clubs before and their level is very high.”

It certainly seems that there is a problem between Senderos and Wenger. The French manager has said that the 24 year-old is fit and ready to play, but he rarely even finds a place on the bench. He wasn’t even in the squad for the Carling Cup match against Man City, which was probably the last straw for Senderos.

We’ll miss you big Phil. :(

I know he’s come under a lot of crictisism, but I for one dont’t forget his form in the side that reached the champions league final. I say good luck to him.

  2. sam dinesh says:

better keep him and give him a chance instead of giving it to silvestre..

  3. DavidS says:

Not sure why Wenger isn’t using him. But Wenger knows and I’m sure it’s a good reason. I wish him good luck wherever he goes. He’s not a bad player. He just doesn’t seem to have fit in well at Arsenal.

  4. arnsam says:

That is a graveyard mistake wenger made…it would hurt any one as good or even worser than sendros to be taken on loan at the expence of a mechanic like silvestre???????????
But still this time around wenger has behaved kidish just because he talked about prefering to leave doesn’t mean wenger wenger shoul lower to his reasoning capacity.we only have 3 center backs as far as am concerned;sendros yohan, and thomas

  5. Iamdi says:

I like senderos. He plays very good, but don’t play him against Drogba.

  6. Mike E says:

he should have played against man city imo.

a bit more experience was needed. and we could have rested song or played him in his normal position of central midfield.

best he moves on as his face obviously no longer fits.
