Should Arsenal buy Eden Hazard or Mario Gotze?
There have been many talks about the potential signing of Eden Hazard from Lille or Mario Gotze from Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal recently, especially after the Gunners lost Nasri and Fabregas in the recent summer. A creative spark from midfield is extremely essential if Arsenal are to push for any sort of major honours in the near future.
Eden Hazard: The Belgian is the core and star of Lille in the French league. With Arsene always looking at France for players, Hazard unsurprisingly caught the eye of Arsenal. Ligue 1 young player of the year in 2009 and 2010, Ligue 1 player of the year in 2011 shows the true quality of Eden Hazard. In 2011, he guided Lille to the cup and league double. Known for his technical ability, pace and explosiveness, Hazard would be a great addition to the team and will spur Arsenal forward towards glory. One downside of signing Hazard would be his hefty price tag though. Lille does not seem to be willing to let Hazard go easily.
Mario Gotze: With his creativity, speed and skill, Mario Gotze has slowly established himself as one of the best young talents in European football recently. Thought by some to be the future of German football, Gotze dazzles on the pitch. Making the Bundesliga team of the year in 2011 and guiding Dortmund to the championship in the same year. However, the signing of Gotze seems to be an uphill task as Dortmund are not willing to let the young lad leave.
Furthermore as the German league is significantly slower than the premier league, Gotze may take a long time to adapt to the footballing style in England.
As usual, the final decision lies with Arsene. I believe he would make the right decision in bringing the right player to Arsenal at the right price. Perhaps, it may not be Hazard or Gotze? Who is more suitable for Arsenal!

Either would be a great signing but im swaying towards Gotze at 19 he looks fantastic,Wenger needs to be first out of the traps when the transfer window opens and get at least one of them.

I think we should buy Gotze. We need a midfield with vision and creativity, Gotze has both. He will be able to tear apart defenses with his passing and dribbling. Hazard is a winger, we already have Forehead, Theo and Arshavin and with Ox looking promising dont think we need another. But Hazard is still a great player…..
Ohh… i cant wait to see Wilshere and Gotze play together….

of course people have been talking so much about gotze’s first touch.if you look at arsenal a team with lots of passing and movement where first touch is so important,mario could be suited better.but make no mistake hazard also should be a quality player(havent seen him play).my friend reckons that hazard was world class in the champs league match against inter (telling me hazard raped inter literally)……….

Gotze. Cost is too high for hazard and we don’t need another winger and even though hazard plays both, gotze defensive discipline is better. He tracks back and can tackle. If he is to play in Arsenal’s rotating midfield with song and jack, he better be good at tackling. That that midfield would be pure dopeness. Or DENCH I guess

hazard is explosive, i mean he can walk his way through defences and score goals in difficult times. personally, i prefer hazard 2 gotze but with d likes of real madrid chasin him (hazard) albeit d prize tag, we hav little chance of signin him, so gotze wil be a good buy at a reasonable prize (say 25m to 30m)

Both players are world class players for the future but i would go for hazard because he can beat three people with just one movement but dont get me wrong gotze is fantastic great first touch i just think hazard got ability than gotze

Both of these players are wonderful, but we really need a top quality striker. Therefore I will blow my budget on a player like Pato from Milan. Then if there is money left over, I would have Gotze. Otherwise, our midfield is ok with ever improving Ramsey and returning Wilshire.

In my opinion I think we should get both of them and a striker like reus. We have 2 quality wingers that can play in our team (miyaichi and ox not included). These two can cover a variety of positions and can tear teams to bits.also a lot of our players are reaching the 30 mark which means they will move on and these 2 will be great options. This will also allow for good squad rotation like real Madrid are doing currently

It will be stupid to spend 50m on Hazard, though I now Arsenal will not try it… Instead use that 50m and purchase Gotze and Marco Rus with some change…. F Lille with that price tag on Hazard.

Both players are great but i think Gotze is my favourite if we are to choose btwn them.WHY?you may ask.First is POTENTIAL, Hazard seems to have hit his best already i don’t see him improving unlike Gotze whom i think is hitting the headlines yet the best of him is not yet unleashed.Secondly BACKGROUND playing soccer with the German national team and the Bundensliga gives Gotze an edge over his rival.Thirdly is NECESSITY,hazard dribbles from the wing whereby arsenal has plenty in the likes of Arshavin,Theo,Gervinho and others coming up like The Ox and Ryo wheareas Gotze is the German Jack wilshere and once the real JACK is injured his creativity is sourly missed by everyone so why not get rid of that.Coupled with selling price i think GOTZE wins by a margin.

Hazard is a really good player who is only gonna get better same with goetze . However every other club in Europe is extremely interested in them also they are no secret , and if chelski , Madrid , man shitty start throwing money at these clubs I can’t see Arsene even getting involved . Maybe wenger will surprise me I really hope so , and I think anyway coquelin,ox,frimpong, Miquel look really promising so does wenger so dont expect any signings or u will be disappointed as usual when big names go elsewhere. We need a top quality striker for 2 reasons.. If we are going to hang on I RVP he’s needs to see world class signings so he knows arsenal mean business and also if he does leave we can have a top class striker in our ranks to fill the void without depends on chamak or park… As for hazard or goetze it’s got to be hands down goetze… Hazard is a classic tale of too many viewers on YouTube giving here opinion.. He’s good no doubt but as far as someone taking the game into his control with precise passing and quick thinking creativeness then it’s goetze! Walcot will be converted to a centre forward; Arshavin will be sold in January. I don’t agee we’ve too many wingers. Honestly, we don’t have to sign either. Wilshere back from injury + a very good striker (Pato, Podolski, Reus) is all we need.

Ive got love for gotze and i would love to see that purchase. but i think arsene wenger would love to have hazard and put him in the centre of the pitch in a messi style position, and to be honest… i can see hazard being amazing in the CAM/free role.

I`m not qualified to select either, we seem to have an abundance of midfielders so I for one would be going for a striker and another defender like Vertonghen. In the fullness of time I see Ox-Chamberlain as our main striker.

If you are truly a fan of Arsenal by now you should understand the Club and the vision of the club. Arsène Wenger once quoted by saying “We don’t buy world class players, we create them.” Arsenal is a manufacturing company and if Eden has gone beyond a price we won’t buy. I stand by the vision of the club and support the club for not spending ridiculous amounts. I believe in the gone “Made in Britain” goods that were more durable. I am associated with Arsenal for we now have products “Made in Arsenal” in almost every look and corner. It’s time we stop spending time about expensive player and concentrate on positioning ourselves next campaign for the Champions League.

Both Hazard and Gotze are great players. Honestly the two players remind me of two current big names in football, C Ronaldo and Messi. In my opinion Hazard reminds me, in style of play, of Cristiano Ronaldo while Gotze reminds me of Messi. While both are great, their styles in football are different. Personally, I think Gotze should be Arsene’s target for a few reasons. First, I think his style of play is needed at Arsenal. We need a director on offense, someone who will implement creativity in offense and put not only himself but others in dangerous(goal scoring) positions. From what I have witnessed from both players, Gotze is superior in this role of attacking and distributing, he is a stud in the center of the field. Currently Arteta is, no amazingly, filling this role, however, he is aging and Gotze can do better. I also believe Gotze has a better atitude approaching the game than Hazard (known behavior problems, for example Belgium national team). THE LAST THING Arsenal needs is to spend 30million on a player for him to get upset and leave for more money to Man City. Gotze should be the target, I mean come one in 4 years if everyone signs consists of a 5 player midfield of Ryo, Alex Oxlade, Wilshere, Gotze, Theo Wolcott (can you say team of the century)!!!!!

We are mre likely to have Gotze in Summer. We are less likely to get Hazard however long it takes. In the immediate time we need to dispose of Arshavin, Roskisky, Bendtner, Scillaci, Chamakh; and bring in Jan Vertongen, Esteban Granero, Lucas Baglia, Juan Vergas an Podolsky. Total spending is 56m. Against disposal revenue of 40m.

Money aside, Hazard any day, Gunners fit him like a glove. I don’t think people have seen him play much but with the quality already there he would bring something really special. He is far better than Gotze to break defences down and with the possession play of the Gunners he would get many opportunities to do that. He’ll make the Gunners top two immediately, he’s that good

AW will not sign either one of them for two reasons – price and also their current clubs are hesitant to let them go, unless the price is right, so really only one reason. Honestly though, if we sell Arshavin and whoever else in January, the ultimate would be to get Gotze and a world class striker. I hear Inter are after Ramsey, so with the combined cash of Arshavin and Ramsey and whoever else (I’m guessing Squillaci and one of the other keepers), we can afford Gotze and a striker. I would then bring Bartley back in the team and give him much exposure as I think he has what it takes to be a great defender.

It looks like the ship has sailed for Hazard. One year ago he described Arsenal as his “dream club” but now his price is too inflated and the likes of Real (admittedly his other dream club) and Barca are going to turn his head, not to mention be willing to pay the ridiculous fee. The question is whther he’d get much playing time in either side, and whether they’ll be letting anyone go if they do. I felt sure he’d be an Arsenal player, but recent questions over his mentality (particularly with the Belgian national team) suggest that this may not be a bad thing. Goetze on the other hand looks the real deal, and would certainly be my preference at the moment, especially when you compare the two potential fees. In an ideal world maybe we’d go for both, but the cost of players isn’t confined to their transfer fees, but also their salaries. Besides which, who do we move out of the team to accomodate them? Walcott’s been in great form, and Gervinho simply needs to add a few goals to his already brilliant contributions. I don’t think Hazard would be willing to sit on the bench, nor would we pay him to do so. Granted he could play a more central role, but once Wilshere is back he’ll slot in with Song and it would leave Ramsey and Arteta fighting for that final midfield spot, and I can’t see Wenger bringing in Hazard on astronimal wages when he’s already spent £10mill on Arteta. Goetze on the other hand is younger, and more likely to be willing to work on his game and wait for his chances, so I hope we manage to rbring him in.

Rolls Reus is better than both based on statistics, and has a buyout clause half price of the other twos asking price. So I would buy Reus. He also play for a worse team.
So sell Arshavin to Russia, and bring in Reus.
Exchange Chamakh with Oliver Giroud or sell and bring in Papiss Cisse.
Also would consider to loan out Myiachi in exchange for cheaper price on Dries Mertens.
That would add a lot of goals from Wingers and RVP:s replacements that isn’t happening at the moment.
What about the defence? Bringing one should do the trick Christian Träsch,Kabore, Mendel, M.Olsson,Armero, Capoue,Wesley, Lucho, or Fellaini.

SWAYING TOWARDS GOTZE AS THE MIDFIELD OF WILSHERE GOTZE RAMSEY WHO CAN STAY AT ARSENAL FOR THE NEXT 15 YEARS WOULD BE TO MUCH.
HAZARD SHOULD HAVE BEEN SIGNED 2-3 YEARS AGO WHEN WE COULD HAVE GOT HIM CHEAP. HIS PRICE VALUE HAS DOUBLED AND JUST OUT OF OUR PRICE RANGE.

The fact that these quality players are being linked with Arsenal, shows that they have a genuine interest in playing for the Arsenal!

guys i’ve seen a lot of you mention Hazard beating three players with one movement etc, you need to remember the Premier League is completely different to others.. they have more time with the ball. prime example Ronaldo was brilliant in England but outstanding abroad due to that extra one second he got, just don’t expect them to be skipping past players in our league as we are more physically demanding then others, so i’d go for Gotze due to Bundesliga starting to adapt the English style defensively. i’m not saying Hazard will be a bad signing he will just have to pass a bit more rather then trying to take people on or he will be injured very quickly.

i feel Gotze is a player we should be spending on. i think Chamberlain is similar to Hazard in many ways. rather than looking at skill, I feel that Gotze has a more professional approach to the game. I’ve been reading that Hazard has this distinctive disciplinary issues especially with the international squad. So to play it safe and not suffer a Tevez crisis I recommend Gotze, who is more or so the level of Eden Hazard.
