Should Arsenal play some youth or go full strength against Swansea?

Arsenal have met twice against Swansea recently and lost on both occasions (3-2 and 0-2). Swansea are on good form and have one of the most potent strikers in Michu. The player will surely be looking forward to add to the two goals he scored against us earlier in the season.

The FA cup presents virtually the only chance for Arsenal to get a trophy this season. We have been paired with Bayern Munich in an impossible-looking Champions League Quarter Final and we are currently several rungs below Manchester United on the EPL table. If you are looking forward to seeing some rising stars from the reserves, then you are sure to be disappointed, as Wenger has promised to field the side with the best chance of winning (just like he did against Bradford).

Predicted Lineup
I would expect Wenger to field the big boys i.e. Cazorla, Podolski and Arteta. Personally, I would like to see a mixture of the first team and promising players from the reserves like Gnabry and Eisfeld. The biggest selection headache for Wenger will be whether to drop Sagna after two horrendous displays. I expect Giroud to reclaim his spot from Walcott after the latter’s no-show against Southampton.

Giroud
Podolski Cazorla Arteta Wilshere Walcott
Gibbs Vermalaen Mertasacker Sagna
Szczesny

Predicted Score
I see a very tight game which won’t go to a replay. We’re unlikely to see a 7-5 scoreline from this one. I predict Arsenal to just edge out Swansea by 3-2. The boys will need to work their socks off to achieve that.

We need to combine youth and experience here, as it freshens up the team and it also gives us an excuse if we lose :P

    @joer22
Agree we need to play the youth boys for an excuse when we loose.
On the other hand play our best team loose and then show everyone how 1 dimensional we are!!

I tink we should start d attack with podoski,Rosicky,Chamberlain with Walcott in front.Arteta and Coquelin so dat Coq can play more defensively and Arteta can go box to box. There should be Gnabry on bench to come in for Lukas,Giroud to come in for Chamberlain, then Walcot moves back to the wing ..that way we will stil havea very pacy attack. Jenko ahead of sagna,Mert and Verm at d heart of defence.Wilshere don’t need to play,Carzorla can com in for Rosicky. We should win like dat

we cant allow to risk too much. We have a strong first team so let them play. Giroud in front and NOT walcott. he has his highlight vs newcastle. thats it. now we need him on the wings. next to podolski. maybe diaby return? would be great.

We went out in capital one cup so only do good youth. Eisfield, maybe gnabry but really we should put in a experienced team.

Playing a complete first team will have brutal repercussions if we loose… Also how can Wenger say he is prioritizing the F.A. Cup when he let a good chance of winning go in the Capital Cup. Clueless

“The setup we have means sometimes you have to let one player go to make space for someone coming as the squad is limited and sometimes you need to knock out some good players to make room for others.”

Wenger went on to reveal his wages policy is different to many of his Premier League rivals, with the Arsenal boss confirming there is a balance within his squad that ensures none of his players are paid vastly more than their team-mates. While some of Manchester City’s stars may be pocketing more than £200,000 every week, Wenger insists on following different rules.

Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie are among the big names who have walked away from Arsenal after Wenger and his board refused to shatter their wage structure to satisfy the demands of their stars and, while the same scenario may not be true when it comes to making a final offer to current contract rebel Theo Walcott, Wenger is unrepentant.
“People neglect the reality that Arsenal pays very well and all my life I defend to pay well people who work for us,” he said. “If I believe we can afford to do it, we do it, that is the policy. Do we change? No.

“What we do not do is pay one player £200,000-a-week. We have kept it closer for all the players, so I guess you can say we have a socialist model and maybe this makes us more vulnerable (to losing players or failing to make star signings).

“We have kept to a structure that makes sense when it comes to dealing with every single player. We make exceptions, sometimes, but those exceptions are not too often. If we want to continue to make a profit, we have to respect our structure.”

WENGER SAID THEY WILL NOT CHANGE THEIR SYSTEM, IF WE ARE IN REALITY NOT IGNORANCE AND AROGANCE,
SEE THE TOILETHAMP BOARD AND NOW LOOK AT OURS,
SEE TOILETHAMP SQUAD OF 2004 AND NOW, AND SEE OURS OF 2004 AND NOW.
WE WITNESSED TOILETHAMP ARE MORE HUNGRY THAN OUR AMERICAN BUSSIENES TEAM.

IF HE CAN’T CHANGE THIS SYSTEM!!
WELCOME OSMANOV, AND HIS BOARD. BYE BYE THIS BUSSINES BOARD.

    Coquelin

We have Joel campbell but he’s currently on loan again he hasn’t played for the first team since we bought him nearly 2 years ago but he looks promising he’s scored a few goals for his loan clubs and for Costa rica most notably a brace against Spain.

Other then that there’s not too much else but then again i dont now every player in our youth system. A striker needs to be brought.

Swansea keep possession well. Theo should start from the bench and come in at 60. We need a quick passing game today. Would like to see Rosicky play on the right wing instead of Ox, with Arteta Cazorla and Wilshere in midfield.

WENGER IS NOT INTERESTED IN WINNING, HE IS INTERESTED IN MAKING PROFITS.
ARSENAL WILL NEVER EVER BE THE SAME, SORRY BUT IT IS TRUE, WHEN YOUR MANAGER SAYS IN ORDER TO MAKE PROFIT YOU HAVE TO LET ONE GOOD PLAYER GO !!! WHY THE F**K IS HE A MANAGER? WHY THE F**K DO ARSENAL PLAY FOOTBALL?
TO MAKE MONEY OR TO WIN?
I WON’T MIND IF WENGER GO OUT OF ARSENAL. HE IS A DISGRACE, WE SOLD RVP TO UNITED AND HE IS SAVING THEM FROM DEATH. POOR WENGER I HOPE THIS IS HIS LAST YEAR AS AN ARSENAL MANAGER, COZ HE SHOWED 0 HUNGER IN HIS LAST INTERVIEW.
I AM FED UP, WE NEED TO WIN NOT TO MAKE PROFIT!!! WE MADE PROFIT OVER THE YEARS, AND IT IS ENOUGH!!!

2005 target to win the league
    2005-11target to come 4th

If we had played a total youth team in the Carling Cup they couldn’t have done any worse at least they will try for 90mins instead of waving their arms in the air and looking at the heavens.

If we manage 9 against 11 today it will be great

mate, don’t read @gunners comment. just read the quotes he makes of what wenger said this morning. read carefully and tell me whether that sounds like an arsenal manager, tell me whether he sounds like a man that manages one of the biggest clubs in the world, tell me if that sounds like a man with ambition and hunger for glory.
if you do, then i know exactly who the stupid and close minded person is!!

There is no case for putting out a weaker side against any Premiership side at any time. When we have been beaten twice by a particular premiership side there is even less of a case. To put out a weaker side against Swansea and then lose, the man responsible is beyond defence. We drew this time and so Wenger was lucky, but for what reason is the risk taken? It is beyond belief some of these decisions but Wenger’s luck is not going to be enough this season, not withth place being better ran at by Everton and the Scum. I see Demba Ba scored twice on his debut for Chelsea. Same old, same old. Even if we buy a goalscorer he’ll need time to settle and get used to the pace of the Premiership. Same old same old. Until ww finish out of every cup and out of the top 6, the cycle at Arsenal will be same old same old. Teams and people need a crisis to change for the better but Arsenal are comfortable with the current cycle of seasonal CL participation, just enough to attract players to sign for us and keep one half of the fans satisfied. Progress has not been made for almost 8 seasons, we’re just another Everton that lucks out on the last day of the season to get in the CL. I think that luck is gone now.
