Should Wenger rest Van Persie against Blackburn? (with no Samba!)
There are rumours that Arsene Wenger is considering giving Robin Van Persie a break this weekend against Blackburn to try and freshen him up for the three upcoming away games against Sunderland, AC Milan and (probably) Sunderland again.
Van Persie has scored 21 goals in 23 games this season, but his shooting hasn’t been quite so accurate recently (except for penalties!) and it is said that Wenger believes it may be a good chance to give him a rest now.
Thierry Henry has not had much chance to make an impact since his loan deal started and this may be a great opportunity to show the Arsenal fans that he still has what it takes make an impact in the Premiership.
Meanwhile the Blackburn manager Steve Kean has announced that he won’t be taking Christopher Samba with him to the Emirates, increasing speculation that Arsenal was the club that were trying to sign him during the transfer window.
Samba threatened to go on strike if Blackburn refused to let him leave and he is extremely angry that he was forced to stay at Ewood Park. But the good news for Arsenal is that it should be much easier to break down Blackburn without the giant Samba in the way and it may give Wenger more confidence that the team can win without Van Persie.

love him or hate him arsharvin has shown great courage to turn down a move and fight for his place, maybe its time for wenger to show courage and give him that central role.
if i remember rightly the last time he did was against shrewsbury and he scored a great goal and set up parks only goal too. point is both need a game and there is proof that park and arsharvin can play together and produce.
arsharvin doesnt play for money or fame, the little dude just wants to be at the centre of things and loved by the fans. not shoved out wide and booed for every bad touch.
to all those who hate arsh so much that they could never agree with my comment i ask you this, how could this current team and current performances get any worse? what could we possibally loose by giving it a try? my own personal view is that if given the free role by wenger and given love by the fans arsh could tear it up for us, we need something RIGHT NOW !!! and arsh is the only one with the potential to offer the creation fab and nas did, ramsey aint ready, arteta to safe, jacks crocked, song loosing intrest, if not arsharvin then who could?

if we going to rest van percy, why not play theo down the middle and see once and for all if theo can cut the mustard, with the ox and rosicky/ arshavin either side?

plzz, do not put stupid ideas into wenger,s head, he has already lost the plot. leaving rvp, out tomorrow, would be suicide, he is the only one scoring goals at the moment even though he drew a blank against bolton,. who r u going to rely onto score tomorrow, walcott,? arshavin.. ramsey . rosicky.? none of the mentioned will score, they dont where the goal is. does not matter if samba is missing, this is when arsenal should go all out and take advantage of the situation, and go for a goal blitz, it wont help us get into 4th spot, becasue u stil only get 3 points,and we wont win enough games for the rest of the season ,were not good enough. powerful enough or determined enough,to egt 4th spot , for a win, but would show the team has a ruthless streak,at last . if we dont beat blackburn tomorrow,god help us, tough trip to sunderland, probably be lucky to get a draw there, then spurs at home, which at the moment, i cant see us winning.just being truthful guys, with the situation at arsenal as it is, oh yes with the black bin bags tomorrow, remind the stewards if we fail to get a result against the mighty blackburn. to throw wenger and the cronies on the board, into the refuse collection lorries aswell.

we had so much of the ball against bolton and yet when in an attacking position we had absolutely no idea what to do with it, like i said arsharvin is the only TRUE playmaker in the squad. he actualy had to great assists in 2 games before the incident against united. love him or hate him he makes things happen, wenger has got to gamble with fresh ideas and personnel because this team has hit a brick wall.

Instead of complaining and worrying for van persie’s health,Wenger should’ve found a good replacement in jan.
It makes me so sad to see his lack of accountabiliy to the arsenal fans. Just because he was there for so long doesn’t mean he is not supposed to listen to anyone or at least explain his decisions thoroughly or to an acceptable manner or degree. I am not satisfied with our boss. Although I respect him very much, there’s no point to that now. We need a fresh young humble manager or the fans have to demonstrate their anger in public. That’s the only way we either replace or make wenger change his mind for good. It’s time to take back our team from the selfish owners. I’ve had enough of this!!

Forget ot we.need to play our strongest team but there is players that are in real.need of rest one of those is ramsey. i would give arshavin a chance.in that role. as for the.samba rumour i would just love.it if we.could bring in him and vertonghen in the summer as replacements for djourou and squillaci. i would let vermaelen then take up the left back slot permanently with a run in that position he will be the best in the league. Sell walcott and arshavin to fund a deal for hazard sell park and chamakh to bring in podolski and sell bendtner and vela to bring in huntelaar. sell diaby and rosicky to bring in mvila and sell fabianski almunia and mannone to bring another top keeper. Do not retain yossi or henry they are clearly not good enough. then clear out some of the stagnant reserves like hoyte eastmond murphy denilson botelho galindo boateng henderson shea watt. thats a sale of 23 players none of whom are good enough for arsenal.

Without RvP we don’t have any strike power or players who even know where net is! Can’t afford to rest him and AW should have made the striker signing in Jan. Let’s hope we are after Samba, as he is a beast and we could use him and he knows EPL well.

Prefer RVP resting, but our position in the table does not give us the liberty to do so….ideally RVP should start, we shall finish the game in first half… and substitute RVP asap…

We have not seen what the team looks like without RvP, Song & Ramsay. They all look tired n it is time for Wenger to show us some of that great depth the team has. Shuffle the players or formation, he needs to do something to rest these players for the AC matches.
Even Walcot doesnt look up for the fight n may need to start from the bench.
AA23 behind Park may be a worthwhile experiment in a 4-4-2 formation

I am seriously concerned about the defensive capabilities of the Midfield without Song. I’d play Lansbury for Theo cause at least Lans drops back.
It’s time to accept that Henry can only contribute with off the bench performances. I dont he can match the pace for a full game

If RVP is rested I think Park should be given a run out. All the talk of playing Theo through the middle will not work in my opinion. He is just too lightweight for that position. You’ve seen how easy he is to knock off the ball even out on the wing. I think Ox could do well though as has loads of upper body strength.

Wenger should rest van persie… next weak sunderland is a difficult game and then it’s away to milan … the last thing we want is getting van persie injured by over-playing him ! another thing is ramsey should be dropped to the bench and rosiscky should take over until ramsey rediscover his form!and arshavin should be given more playing time….

Because of the cheap board and AW that did not get back up for him last month…and the bad results we have been getting, and the fact that if we lose two more games we are out of top 4 ….he has to play every game till the end of the season….he can not get a rest.
He should have been rested long time ago…at home games mostly…..the fool AW should have put Park on the pitch on the wing, if he had two, just to get him some game time or use him with a 4 4 2 formation at home games.

bring gibbs for mertesacker in around 65minutes. move tv5 n kos to the middle. bring rvp if again no one cn produce. please gve arshavin chance in that role. he cnt do anythng worst than rambo. he wnt to prove somethng. we’re against blackburn. we shud go atack. so arteta jst as the holding mid. n rosicky as a centre mid. song cn hv a rest or in the bench.
so my three sub use around 60+minutes is gibbs(welcome back),rvp(if we stays 0-0, or down by 0-1) bt if we lead by 3 or more which is unlikely so he dserve full rest ahead of next match. third sub dpending on the performance on the night. f we lead n cmfortable bring one holding mid. song to finish our tiki taka passing frustated the oponents. bt f nt myb bring some force in attack (henry).that is my opinion. luckily it is an early match. i wud jst watched it from home. dnt wna goes to the emirates again. waste of money. keep our protest. dnt mind about the dellusioned fans. even it is nt wenger. do that to realise the board that they r crap! i support the protest. n i love gunners! i love arsenal n our team. some of them!! bt nt the board. wenger?dnt knw lose faith in em. he suits as an executive back there with dein + usmanov as shareholder we cud b a major force in europe!!

Arsenal game is ok. We can make it to the 4th spot but Mr.wenger and Rice should do something about accepting that ramsey. Who seems. Their favourite can never help us do so. He should be give along period of rest. Rest Rip. Play theory,ox and/or coquelin or arshavin. . And steady airfield combination of song, arteta. And rocisky . And we can lift the champions league as well. Leave alone making to the 4th spot…

At the moment all we need is a a creative and power full airfield play. We will hv it from rocisky, song & arteta. Liz lets bench ramsey until we come out of this fix. Give RVP. Some rest and play theo /coq , yong /ox-chamber. & arshavin/benny. Up-front. we are getting stressed.
