Spanish press links Arsenal with yet another international striker (Worrying times!)
On a day that rumours are going around that the Arsenal captain Robin Van Persie is currently looking for a house up in the North-West of England, there is worrying news that Arsene Wenger has got his eyes on yet another striker to take to the Emirates.
The Spanish paper AS has revealed that Arsenal are considering a bid for the Atletico Madrid hitman Adrian Lopez-Alvarez who had a great season in the Europa League last year with 11 goals in 19 games, but in La Liga he was notably unimpressive with just 7 goals in 37 games…..
Lopez only joined Atletico last summer on a free transfer from Deportivo La Coruna after they were relegated to La Liga Segundo, but is currently valued at around €18m euros by Atletico, while Arsenal are reported to only want to offer €12m (no change there then!)
The 24 year-old was also a late strarter at international level (no wonder considering the competition in Spain I guess) but was awarded the Golden Boot with the Spanish U21s at the U21 Euros in 2011) and has only made two appearances for the senior side, although he did score one goal against Serbia.
Perhaps Wenger has taken note of his recent improvement and thinks he will develop further, but more to the point if he is seriously considering buying another striker on top of Giroud and Podolski then surely it means Van Persie is definitely on his way out this summer….

A playmaker will be good n a back up goalie
