Statistical proof that Arsenal need to win their next three games….
“In the Premier League the Christmas period is vital to get your points.
“We have responded well to our defeat at Man City with a win at Aston Villa, so now it’s down to us to do the job at home and get the points against Wolves on Tuesday.
“Every game has its own difficulty so what is important for us is to focus on our own game and perform well.
“In the Premier League if you don’t focus then you don’t win, so let’s focus on our next game and try to win it.
“We have learned that you win only if you are at your best. That’s the difficult [bit], to combine the Christmas period with focus.”
Arsene Wenger sounded suitably assertive in the interview and his approach of taking the season game by game is certainly the right one. He is right about the festive fixtures too, especially with a good number of winnable fixtures which Arsenal should use as a springboard to the latter stages of the season.
Taking just games from the end of December up to the middle of January, the statistics certainly show that the league Champions usually have solid results in the period compared to others too:
In the 2010/2011 season, champions Manchester United grabbed a near-perfect 13 points from 5 games in contrast to Chelsea’s 4 points from 4 games. The league table at the end of that season showed just how important that was – Chelsea lost out by nine points, the exact number of points they lost out compared to United in the Christmas period.
The 2009/10 season was no different either. Chelsea took 10 points from 4 games compared to United’s 7 points from 4 games. The league table saw Chelsea win the league table by one single point, and if United had recouped anything more from the Christmas fixtures things might have been very different too!
Out of the four matches played in the festive period thus far, Arsenal has already won one with the outcome of the other three still unknown. The crunch period – playing the next three games against Wolves, QPR and Fulham – lasts six days and it is a good opportunity for Arsenal to anchor its league position by grabbing maximum points. Through calculated risks, rotation and good tactics hopefully Arsenal can come away with the results the team is capable of achieving.

D best approach 4me is to play ur available best(players) and not to think about d nxt match till u’ve won d present. No rotation please! Instead substitute key players if we’re wining with a good margin and poor players if we’re searching 4 a wining goal. Play V.P in evry game till we’ve got a reliable deputy pleeeeeeas. . .we need these points!

Well there isn’t a requirement for statistics to prove that we need to win the next 3 games.
In what situation don’t you need to win 3 games in a row? Whether it’s the start/mid/end of the season EVERY TEAM NEEDS TO WIN the next 3 games.
We will win the next 3, no need to sweat bullets
