Szczesny – Arsenal MUST finish above Tottenham this season!
The Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny says that the only ambition he has for this season is to make sure that the Gunners finish above their great rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Since Arsenal’s terrible start to the season Tottenham have taken a lead and are currently five points ahead after yesterday’s results, and also have a game in hand, but Szczesny is certain that Arsenal can overtake them as the season progesses.
Getting above Tottenham is the main target,” said Szczesny. “We don’t want to finish below them no matter what.
“That’s just my personal ambition because I am one of the fans and so it means a lot to me to finish above them. I am confident we will do so.
“They will slip up eventually. They have been in good form – you have to give it to them – but I am confident we are a better side and will finish above them. Time will tell if they can handle the pressure but they look good at the moment. Hopefully they will drop points in the second half of the season.”
Arsenal have NEVER finished below Spurs since Arsene Wenger became manager, surely they are not going to do it this year?

Tottenham are shit they will drop points as season progresses im sure if we get a new striker and midfielder they should have no chance beating us this season.

Spuds have been fortunate with injuries, but now Lennon and Bale are injured their main plan of attack is out the window.
Its only a matter of time before VV pulls his hammy again and thats spuds disabled in the middle of the park. I think we’ll see a few draws coming their way this/next month.

Not even halfway through the season and spuds fans act as though they have already finished above us. Spuds will never be above us. We will look down on them at the end if the season. Guaranteed.
And about Szczesny, I love this lad’s confidence and stride. He is confident in everything he dies and always manages to pull things off.
And finally, I believe we can not just top Spuds, but Liverfool and Chelski at the end of the season as well!

Wojcech is already a legend to me and Its sad to think that Wenger only put him in goal because of injuries to Almunia and Fabianski, he is so so so so under-rated by everyone in the league and in world football, still 2nd choice for Poland behind Fabianski, this man is a true gunner and I wish we had a whole squad of players just like him.

As soon as we get sagna , wilshere and are other injured players back fit and in the team we will be much stronger any team would miss that quality . The second half of the season looks rosy . Don’t worry about spuds gooners they will soon be back where they belong .

Spuds have never finished above Arsenal during Wenger’s tenure.
In fact the last time was 1989-90 season.

Well said Polecat. Although I think Spurs have a good team, they also lack depth in their squad. I cannot wait to play them again as our squad is playing very well…we had a good game against City and I mean they played superb football. We were a bit unlucky, but if we had to play like that against Spurs we can beat them.

We need not be confident of finishing ahead of Spurs yet until we put our house in order. We urgently need new strikers ahead of the second half of the season. Please Wenger dont overlook this truth otherwise, we may not cope.
