There have been hundreds of Arsenal transfer rumours linking the Gunners with every available keeper in Europe ever since Arsene Wenger first dropped Wojciech Szczesny for the Champions League game in Munich, with most Arsenal fans expecting Wenger to bring in an older more experienced keeper to keep the Pole on his toes.
Despite all these rumours, no-one has mentioned the Australian Mark Schwarzer, who was famously the centre of a tug of war between Arsenal and Fulham back when Mark Hughes was their manager. Football, and sport in general. is having a hard time at the minute. With doping scandals and match fixing involving betting syndicates, the integrity of sport is under attack. The unpredictability of sport is what gives it such great appeal, and the Arsenal manager thinks that it is up to the governing bodies to do everything they can to to protect this. All the Arsenal supporters have directed their anger at Arsene Wenger for not buying a new goalkeeper this summer, but it seems that Mark Schwarzer is jus as annoyed that he wasn’t allowed to move to the Emirates.
He was mysteriously injured during the first few games of the season while Arsenal were still trying to persuade Mark Hughes to let him leave, but he was more than fit enough to pull off a point-saving performance for Australia against Switzerland on Friday. .......Read the full article here

Ever since Peter Hill-Wood revealed that Arsenal had made a bid for Fulham’s Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, but had been turned down, the Gunners have been variously linked with every single goalkeeper in the world and beyond, including Robert Green!
But today the Daily Mirror have run an “Exclusive” which says that Arsenal have increased their offer to £3.5m and Fulham have become resigned to losing the 37 year-old this summer.
They say that Schwarzer has spoken to the club and begged them to accept Arsenal’s offer, and he hopes the deal can be finalised after the World Cup. .......Read the full article here
