Chelsea vs Arsenal preview, line up and score line prediction by KJ
It’s probably the biggest London derby of the season so far in regards to the positions in the table. If we win today, we’ll be 2 points off Chelsea and would be within a shout for 3rd… However, if we lose, we’ll be 8 points behind Chelsea and 3rd will be all but over (this is providing we win against West Ham – our game in hand). .......Read the full article here
Arsenal will tomorrow face Chelsea in Super Sunday’s 1.30pm kick off. Chelsea have released a statement saying the game will be going ahead for the time being as long as there is not much more snow but have warned those attending to allow extra time for their journey to Stamford Bridge.
Both teams will be looking to get back to winning ways, with both London clubs dropping points over the last few weeks. Arsenal will want to get back on track after losing 2-0 to Manchester City, whilst Chelsea lost a 2 goal lead against Southampton a few days ago. .......Read the full article here
Don’t worry Arsenal fans, Arsene Wenger is not just sitting on his hands while rival teams snap up players like Demba Ba, Lewis Holtby and Daniel Sturridge. Arsenal are like a cheetah on the African savannah, lying in wait, coiled like a spring ready to pounce. Any old antelope won’t do, however. We are waiting for the juiciest, most succulent prey to come along. The only problem is, we might starve to death before that happens.
Should Arsenal do to Swansea what Chelsea did to Newcastle? by Twig
Transfer business is risky. You can buy an unknown player from Ecuador who will rise to be star; you can buy a player doing well in another club and he fails to impress and flops. However, one of the biggest shows of intent is when a club preys directly upon its rival and buys it’s best player. Manchester United did it to us with Van Persie and Chelsea has recently done the same to Newcastle with Demba Ba. Big clubs are happy to let smaller clubs scout and develop players for them. We’re a big club aren’t we? .......Read the full article here
Maybe Arsenal need to employ the man from Del Monte when it comes to transfer dealings, because Arsene Wenger does not seem to want anyone. Demba Ba was too much like Olivier Giroud, apparently, and now he has turned down a cut price deal for the talented French midfield enforcer Yann M’Vila. Wenger is fluent in many languages, but he does not seem to know the words yes please in any of them. .......Read the full article here
Arsene Wenger is expected to bring some significant new players in to the Arsenal side during the transfer window this month. There are some key positions that need improving and covering in case of injury, and Ivan Gazidis has indicated that the Arsenal board will back Wenger to spend some decent money, although the amount is debatable.
It is no surprise, then, that some Gooners have reacted angrily to the Gunners missing out on four players who have been linked with a move to the Emirates. First, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar decided to sign a new contract with his club, Schalke. Then, Chelsea activated the £7 million release clause and signed Demba Ba, while Juventus have almost wrapped up the transfer of the Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente. .......Read the full article here
There are quite a few Arsenal fans and pundits who are frustrated that Chelsea have signed Demba Ba from Newcastle without Arsene Wenger appearing to fight too hard to make him a Gunner. With a release clause of just £7.5 million, and having scored 29 Premier league goals in just 54 games for Newcastle, Ba seemed to be a bargain and Wenger admitted he rated the striker. .......Read the full article here
The transfer window has finally opened and it’s already started with a bang. Daniel Sturridge of Chelsea has signed for Liverpool whilst Demba Ba (linked with Arsenal) of Newcastle has signed for Chelsea. Now it’s Arsenal’s turn to step up in the window and with Walcott set to sign a new contract, Arsenal can really focus on bringing some players in. The most linked player at the moment is Adrian Lopez – someone I’m a fan of. .......Read the full article here
Demba Ba has been linked with a transfer window move to Arsenal, and the 27-year old striker had said that the Gunners would be like a dream club for him to sign for. Chelsea entered the fray, however, and the Blues seem to have almost got their man, after offering Newcastle the amount of Ba’s release clause.
Newcastle have now had to allow the Senegalese striker to talk to Chelsea, so it is just a matter of agreeing personal terms before Ba heads for Stamford Bridge. It was reported that his wage demands od over £80,000 a week may have scuppered the deal, but Skysports reports that the club have persuaded him to accept a basic wage of around £70,000 which could rise depending on performance and appearances. .......Read the full article here
There is no way that Demba Ba will be joining Arsenal, if the reports about the reasons behind the collapse of his transfer to Chelsea are true. Apparently his wages are the problem, suggesting that the 27-year old or his agents want a lot more than the £70,000 a week that the Blues were offering.
It cannot be over the fee because we know that his release clause will be triggered at £7.5 million. Ba is a talented and powerful striker, but Arsenal will not pay over £100,000 a week because of the strict nature of the wage structure. Alan Pardew, the Newcastle manager, is now hoping that he will be able to hold on to his top scorer. .......Read the full article here
Lots of Arsenal fans were unimpressed with the reports suggesting that the Newcastle and Senegal striker, Demba Ba, was going to be one of the new players arriving at the Emirates in January. Despite scoring 13 goals in 20 league games this season, including two against us on Saturday, many Gooners think he is not good enough for the Gunners.
Well it looks like those people are about to get their wish, as Chelsea have hit the front in the race to sign the powerful striker. The Mirror reports today that Benitez has identified Ba as the man to boost the Chelsea strike force, as Radamel Falcao will be staying at Athletico Madrid for the rest of the season. .......Read the full article here
Arsene Wenger refused to get into a discussion about Demba Ba’s contract situation before the game, but the Newcastle striker didn’t let the Arsenal rumours affect him and scored two great goals as the Toon restricted Arsenal to 3 goals apiece in the first hour of yesterday’s match.
That Arsenal scored an extra four in the last 20 minutes was probably not a fair end score as Newcastle got tired towards the end, and Wenger admitted that it wasn’t as easy as the scoreline suggests. .......Read the full article here
