We all know the latest news surrounding Abou Diaby and the fact he is ruled out for another 8-9 months following surgery after sustaining another injury.

Now we all know that Diaby himself doesn’t have a specific fitness issue in itself and the reason why he is out so much is simply because he is blighted by injuries. There’s no doubt the Frenchman is a great player on his day, with a wide range of attributes that makes him absolutely fantastic to watch and no doubt excellent to play with, however he spends the majority of his time on the Arsenal treatment table and collecting a reported £60,000 a week means that he is potentially taking up the space of a player that could benefit us for at least, more than the average 6 games a season Diaby plays.

Alex Song set to be released by Barca after one season?

Is Alex Song going to be struck by the jinx that seems to destroy many ex-Arsenal players careers after the leave Arsene Wenger’s side? It is being reported that the Cameroonian is expected to leave the Nou Camp this summer after starting only six games so far this season, and falling out of favour with new boss Tito Vilanova.

Andrey Arshavin is set to add to his one substitute appearance this season as Arsenal take on Coventry in tonight’s League cup match. The 31 year old winger has found life hard at the Emirates since returning from a loan spell at his former club, Zenit. The Russian has had to make due with limited playing time but Wenger insists that he respects Arshavin and that the player is keen to still make an impression at the Emirates.

Arsenal Manager Arséne Wenger believed that Jack Wilshere feared for his career at times last season, with the young Englishman not playing for 14 months. Wilshere picked up an injury in last season’s Emirates Cup game vs New York Red Bulls and at the time it just looked like a simple knock that would only keep him out for a matter of days. But then the injury escalated to such a big extent that he was ruled out for the entire year. But now he has resumed his training and is set to make an appearance for Arsenal reserves in 2 weeks time, if all goes according to plan.

Viktor Bulatov has come out and said that it was the wrong decision on Arshavin’s part to remain at the Emirates. The former Spartak Moscow midfielder has said that, if the Arsenal midfielder wanted to resurrect his fading career,  he should have left the club and looked for more playing time elsewhere. Bulatov pointed out that he risks losing his place in the Russian team permanently and that it would be hard for him to find a club in the January transfer window due to his lack of match practice.

Szczesny wants to end his career at Arsenal!

The young Polish international Wojciech Szczesny has made it clear that he wants to play his whole career at Arsenal, and is hoping to get a very long term contract the next time he sits down with the management to discuss an extension to his present deal.

Being only 21 years of age he could easily keep his position for another 15 years or so if he carries on improving, and he has made it clear that this is exactly his ambition.

Arshavin – To play at Barcelona would be the pinnacle of my career

The little Russian genius Andrei Arshavin has yet again announced how much he would like to play for the European Champions Barcelona, even if it was just for one year..

“Even playing just one season for Barcelona would make a pinnacle of my whole career,” the Arsenal midfielder said.
