Do Arsenal need another squad? By antares1786

Have you ever asked yourself why Wenger puts almost the same squad out to all EPL, CL and Fup games? Other big clubs, Man United for example, actively uses rotation and promotes youngsters such as Buttner, Cleverley, as well as giving the best players like Van Persie and Rooney a rest, while Hernandez and Welbeck score the goals and achieve the appropriate result.

IN ARSENE, I RUST!!! by PV

Fellow Gooners, before you start reading this, I would like to make an appeal to you. There is no doubting that Arsene Wenger has achieved great things for our club and has made us proud of our team many times in the past decade and a half. This article is not a rant, its rather a constructive criticism of Wenger’s recent performances. I would hope even the diehard Wenger backers would give the whole piece a read before passing judgement and I hope you understand the frustration of a fan who has always pledged his undying loyalty to the football club.

Try Something New! by GP

Happy New year to you all

I watched the Newcastle game with anticipation, anger at the defence, pride in our persistence to keep scoring, and finally relief that we managed to win and still have a game in hand.

The performance at Southampton disappointed me because it just highlights the facts.

Much as some of us try to think positive, the performances remind us that we are a million miles from where we would like to be.

Arsene Wenger revolutionised English football but in my opinion, his refusal to believe he could learn from others has been his and our down fall.

WHAT PEP CAN DO FOR ARSENAL by BK

Pep Guardiola has had remarkable success at Barcelona, making arguably the best team of all time, some skeptics say his success may be down to the vast talent he found in the team, with one Lionel Messi standing out from the pack and thus question his ability to manage a team in a crisis of sorts. Tito Vilanova’s continued success at Catalunya does no good to his case either as it seems the talent in the Barca team just needs an overseer and not a tactically gifted coach.

Arsenal Debate: Is “calling for change” really disloyal to Arsenal? 73

Is wanting Arsenal not to qualify for Champions league football or protesting a sign of not being a ‘true and loyal’ fan’? bt TN

Many Arsenal fans have been either writing or saying they hope ‘Arsenal don’t qualify for the champions league’ this year. And in response, they have been accused of not being ‘true fans’ and have even had their loyalty questioned, but is this fair?

So the question that must be raised is, why are Gooner’s seeking non qualification?

Does it have anything to do with wanting Arsenal not being successful?

Arsenal Debate: Is it just a minority that want things to change? 88

Whose beloved Arsenal is under attack and from where? by TN

Those that support the current ‘Status Quo’ believe they are under attack from a small but vocal minority. Whereas, those calling for change believe change is the only answer to the current demise of their Arsenal. So I pose the question, are the Internet and airways being “taken over” by a minority of Arsenal fans calling for change?

A MID TABLE FINISH IS THE BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO ARSENAL THIS SEASON by BK

The last seven seasons have been a gruelling time for all Arsenal fans having to put up with the mockery of rival fans, dashed hopes, losing our biggest players- and most of all, not winning when in matters. But yet through all this there has been a glimmer, a ray of light that came from the beautiful football we always played, we at times blamed our fanciness for poor results, but whenever we lost we did not really deserve to, so we walked back home not knowing who to point a finger at, times have changed though. The magic that once Arsene Wenger managed to produce with so little has finally faded. We are losing our flair and games too, our performances are increasingly becoming lacklustre.

Arsenal Debate: Arsenal aiming to change wage structure – Is it too late? 54

Posted on June 07, 2012 by admin

There has been much talk about the wage structure at Arsenal, where some of the unused (and in some cases unwanted) players earn nearly as much (if not more) than some of our established first team players. Also being called into question is the upper limit of our wages (as in Robin Van Persie’s new contract!) which at its highest is still about half of what our direct rivals for the title are willing to lay out for top players.

Should Arsenal use 4-4-2 as an option against defensive teams? 18

Posted on December 22, 2011 by admin

Arsenal’s wins against Everton and Aston Villa were hard-fought and while the points were all taken, there surely has to be some questions raised over the 4-3-3 formation’s productivity in those matches. Let us not be mistaken – in both matches Arsenal pulled out hard-fought wins, but chances were fashioned far and few between and it was fortunate that the players took them. But both of them were as lucky as winning the Jackpot on The Mummy Slot Machine as far as I was concerned, and perhaps our chances could have been improved with a little forethought about the team’s layout..

Is Wenger changing his style in search of points? 11

Posted on September 30, 2011 by admin

Fast; one touch; perfect football – three phrases that have become synonymous with the Arsenal name for decades. As arguably the closest equivalent to Barcelona outside of Spain, the players that have participated in this phenomenon include some of the greats and the list continues today.

However, with an increasingly physical English Premier League, some might argue that playing pretty football can only lead to the inevitability of trying too hard to ‘walk the ball into the net’ whilst also making oneself more vulnerable to hacking opponents, desperate to stop the intricate play. With the club renowned for its incredible bad luck with injuries, would it be completely implausible that the Arsenal could take inspiration from the likes of Stoke or Blackburn to develop a new generation of tougher Gunners?

Anders: Gervinho’s arrival will force Wenger to change formation 46

Gervinho’s Signature Could Spark Big Change at AFC by Anders Marshall

As readers of Just Arsenal know, I’m not a big fan of Gervinho, at least not until he ships in 30 goals for us with his left foot, while riding a unicycle, at the same time hitting Sam Allardyce in the face. With a mace. One positive I can take from his potential signature is in order to properly accommodate the lad, things at the Arsenal camp will have to change, namely the formation.
