Arsenal have not won a trophy since they took the FA Cup in 2005 and their last League title was way back in 2004. They faced the humiliation of an 8-2 spanking in Manchester and an exit from the Champions League to an impotent Milan side. Arsenal strung some decent performances together in the second half of the season and clinched a Champions League place on the final day of a rollercoater year, barely finishing above Spurs! The Blackburn Rovers’ defender Chris Samba had dropped hints that he would relish the chance to join Arsenal in the summer. Arsène Wenger reportedly tried to sign Samba in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through according to Samba. As the season nears its end Samba may be hoping transfer talks can be revived.
Speaking in the Sun Samba said: “Everybody knows that I am an ambitious player. I am at an age now where I want to try to do something. You only have one career and it would be a shame to not make the best of it”. .......Read the full article here

It looks like Arsene Wenger has pulled off his usual trick of finding a talented unknown player at a very good price, as it has just been revealed that the Bosnian captain Emir Spahic expects a move to Arsenal to be completed in the near future.”
Although Spahic is 30 years old, he is extremely experienced and is captain of his country. He led Bosnia as far as the play-offs for the World Cup this year but got beaten by Portugal in the end.
