Arsenal Debate – Should Fabianski get his place back now he is fit? 22

Posted on May 06, 2013 by admin

This is exactly the kind of headache that Arsene Wenger would like to have in every position as he now has to decide whether to keep Wojciech Szczesny in between the sticks now that his compatriot Lukasz Fabianski is fit enough to be reinstated in the Arsenal starting XI.

In the run up to the QPR game, Wenger said of Fabianski: “He is still unavailable. From next week onwards, he should be alright.” which suggest he will be available for the next game against Wigan, which is still 8 days away.

Barcelona confirm David Villa won’t join Arsenal or anyone else! 21

Posted on December 24, 2012 by admin

There has been much speculation in the Spanish media that the Barcelona striker David Villa has had enough of being left on the sidelines at the Nou Camp and is looking for a loan move to the Premiership this summer with Arsenal being mooted as a possible destination.

But today the Barcelona director of football Andoni Zubizarreta has said the prolific hitman will not be going anywhere in this coming transfer window. He said: “In January we will keep Villa and it is important to remember that Barcelona is a club that habitually does not accept offers for star players in January,”

Is it a worry that Arsenal have little competition for Olivier Giroud? 85

Two down, two to go! by DF

Much has been made of the Olivier Giroud speculation, with reputable sources such as the BBC confirming that the deal is close. But just how effective will this seemingly new addition be to the Arsenal squad? Obviously he provides a better back up option than any of the other strikers Arsenal have warming the bench. To be completely honest, I haven’t really seen him in action, besides for a few YouTube clips and he cameo against Iceland in the Euro build-up friendlies, where he set up two goals in a few minutes, which I was quite impressed with. But I do not know exactly what Arsenal are getting in Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal favourites to sign young Southampton left-back 21

Posted on January 11, 2012 by admin

It has been revealed this morning that the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will once again have his scouts at the Reebok Stadium tonight to watch their young Southampton left-back Luke Shaw in action in the Youth Cup against Bolton.

Shaw is not legally allowed to sign professional terms with anyone until July when he reaches 17 years of age, but it is believed that the Saints have already put a price of £4m on the youngsters head, despite him still awaiting his senior debut.

But the teenage defender has already appeared regularly for the England U17 side and Trevor Brooking has already pinpointed him as a possible star of the future.

Chamakh shambles – Maybe he’s staying after all…. 12

Posted on October 21, 2011 by admin

On the morning that Marseille were seemingly willing to take him off Arsenal’s hands, Wenger has assured Marouane Chamakh that he has a future at the club.

The past week has seen the Moroccan linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Lille and former club Bordeaux and the addition to that list of last week’s Champions League opponents Marseille looked to expand his options of a next club even further. With just two goals in his last 31 appearances, his form in England is a far cry from his goalscoring achievements in Ligue 1.

Arsenal agree fee for Juan Mata, but face competition from Tottenham 73

Posted on July 28, 2011 by admin

Well would you believe it! According to reports everywhere, both Arsenal and Tottenham have agreed transfer fees with Valencia for their talented midfielder Juan Mata, and although the players father admitted that they were considering both offers, the player himself would prefer to move to the Emirates.

Mata and his representatives are said to be currently in London for talks, and if these reports prove to be true then Cesc Fabregas could be very quickly allowed to leave.

The Mail says that “Wenger has not been impressed with his captain’s sulky manner since returning
from his holidays, and Fabregas has refused to train with the first team. So much for his never-ending hamstring injury then!

Frimpong reveals he was in Wenger’s plans before injury 6

Posted on April 07, 2011 by admin

Emmanuel Frimpong was cruelly injured in pre-season, but is now nearing full recovery and has played his first bit of football for seven months.

But the strong young midfielder has revealed that, just before he was injured, Arsene Wenger had told him that he was going to be part of his plans for the season and would not be going out on loan.

“It’s been hard over the last eight months because I was doing well,” Frimpong said. “You want to be out on the pitch and showing what you can do,”

“I was going to go on loan last summer but then the boss said he wanted me to stay and be part of the team.

Wenger – Bendtner is top quality (but he has competition!) 30

Posted on January 31, 2011 by admin

Arsene Wenger has decided to come out and defend the criticism aimed at Nicklas Bendtner. The Danish striker has been restricted in his opportunities this season after he came back from injury, because of the great form of Marouane Chamakh and then the return of Robin Van Persie.

This has left Bendtner reduced to Carling Cup and second-string appearances, but every time he has been given a chance he has scored goals, even if he hasn’t looked quite as sharp as his rivals in the Arsenal front line.

This weeks Predict The Score, my new T-Shirt, and a warning for Arsenal bloggers! 20

Posted on September 08, 2010 by admin

At last the international break is over and we can get back to the serious stuff of the Premier League, but there are a couple of annoying things that have happened since the last league game, and I feel that I should warn all Arsenal bloggers just in case they get stung.

First of all I got an email regarding my “Predict The Score” competition, which ordered me to remove any reference to Arsenal’s next League match. All I had written was “Predict the score on the ****** game, and win an Arsenal Shirt”. After an email exchange, it seems that I need to buy a license to publish any League fixtures (don’t ask how much!), or be a “nominated fanzine” for Arsenal FC.

Reason for New Logo – and Predict the Score competition 132

Posted on September 01, 2010 by admin

Hi everyone, due to the immense success of the “Predict the Score” competition in July, I have decided to continue with one on every League match of the season.

As you all can see I have created a new Logo for Just Arsenal.com above. The reason for this is that I have been told that I am not legally allowed to use the Arsenal badge anywhere on the website.

But I quite like the new design, and have therefore ordered a batch of T-Shirts with it on. The first one will go to the winner of the next “Predict The Score” competition ;-}
