Adam Kemp – The crisis deepens!
Arsenal crashed out of the Capital One Cup after a ‘shock’ penalty shoot-out defeat to the ‘mighty’ Bradford City after the game ended at a stalemate. I use the term shock loosely as the battle between David and Goliath was actually not the case. Bradford City was far more effective on the ball and the precision of their tactics was class. .......Read the full article here

Whingers or Wenger? by TB
Do you know what? I find all this herd mentality of ganging up to slag off our manager Arsene Wenger distasteful in the extreme. It is a behaviour that is more fitting of the spoiled brat in the playground who for years has been getting everything he wants and then starts squealing when he doesn’t get what he wants and lashes out at the person who he sees as the being responsible for not getting his way. The mantra of ‘we want our Arsenal back’ embodies this pathetic, playground attitude. Black scarves – my arse – that’s pathetic!! How negative and disproportionate can you get? .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn was quite confident about the Gunners recovering from the loss of Robin van Persie and Alex Song in the summer, and felt that the new team started the season quite well.
But now things have fallen flat and Arsenal have only two unimpressive wins out of their last seven games, and Winterburn thinks that if Arsenal don’t beat Tottenham this weekend they are definitely in a crisis position, if they aren’t already in one!
He said: “I thought this season that Arsenal would be stronger than last season, even though they lost Robin Van Persie. I liked the togetherness of the squad. .......Read the full article here

Things just go from bad to worse in the Arsenal back line with a never-ending litany of injuries. The Gunners had already lost Sagna, Gibbs, Jenkinson and Santos long before Christmas, and Wenger had no choice but to use all four centre-backs as cover.
Then Johan Djourou got sent off at the same time as Thomas Vermaelen picked up an injury, which meant that Francis Coquelin and Ignasi Miquel had to be promoted to the Arsenal starting line-up against Leeds (and to enable Per Mertesacker to get a well-earned rest).
But alas Coquelin then succumber to a hamstring problem after half an hour of the FA Cup tie, and the even younger Nico Yennaris had to be thrown to the Lions. .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger is more than pleased with the way his team got over their crisis of confidence at the beginning of the season and have fought their way back into contention for the Premier League title.
The Gunners are now just nine points behind the leaders at the halfway point of the season, and as Wenger points out, Arsenal have already played their closest four rivals away this season, which will give them the advantage in the run-in.
“I didn’t know that we would be in the top four by now,” Wenger said. “I felt first of all we had to stop the crisis. By crisis I mean the confidence level drops too much and you play with fear. .......Read the full article here

Who’s to blame? by Kamiel Walia.
“A shambles” “Disgrace” “Crisis”
Commonly used phrases often found in articles regarding Arsenal. Yes indeed we were fighting on four fronts at the end of February and now we are barely fighting one. But a crisis is hardly the right word to describe the current state of affairs. Let me summarise. At Wembley, in the Carling Cup, our performance was poor. Nerves got the better of us and in the end a mistake led to our demise. In the Champions league we lost to, without a shadow of a doubt, the best team in the world. Bear in mind that one goal would have sent us through, but ifs and buts are one thing, reality is another. .......Read the full article here

There has been much talk in all the Arsenal Blogs about the need for Arsene Wenger to splash out in January for another centre-back to either provide cover for the longterm injury to Thomas Vermaelen, or simply to improve the quality of the Arsenal back line.
Wenger bought the young, but inexperienced, Laurent Koscielny in the summer and it is hoped that he will grow into a classy partner for Vermaelen if and when he returns to full fitness, and he also brought in the 30 year-old Sebastien Squillaci at the last minute for cover. Squillaci has turned into the first-choice for Wenger, with Koscielny or Djourou as his partner depending on suspensions and injuries. .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is worried about the state of the football clubs in England, and thinks that most of them are “living in dreamland”. Even the biggest clubs are in debt to massive amounts, including Arsenal, and he thinks it is time for everyone to get a wake-up call, and realise that when you borrow money, at some point you have to pay it back!
For that reason, he thinks that there will be few transfer deals done during the January transfer window. .......Read the full article here
