It is a more than open secret that Arsenal are looking for a striker in January, even if its only to cover for Gervinho as he will miss the first six weeks of the New Year at the African Cup of Nations.
One top, top, top, top striker who looks set to go out on loan in January is Barcelona’s David Villa, as he has not had much chance to find his feet again after recovering from lat season’s broken leg, and Arsenal have been mooted as a possible destination. .......Read the full article here

Arsenal are after 3 strikers in January by KJ
After the disappointing loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford, the ever reliable @GeoffArsenal (he has the same connections as AFCAMDEN) stated that Arsenal are in for 3 strikers in January. These strikers are Edin Dzeko, Fernando Llorente and David Villa. I like many of you was very sceptical when I read those names but Geoff has been spot on many a time with line-ups as well as transfer targets.
Here’s my opinion on the players and the likelihood that they’ll sign: .......Read the full article here

Another Arsenal captain could be going to Barcelona? by BA
I have just read a crazy rumour that Barcelona are about to make a last minute move for Robin van Persie. The story goes that Arsenal’s wantaway striker has been secretly holding out for an offer from the Catalan giants and they are now ready to make their move.
This has just given me a brilliant idea. Why don’t we make Nicklas Bendtner our new captain? Then, when he leaves we can give it to Squillaci and so on. Okay seriously now… .......Read the full article here

Another day and yet another couple of Barcelona players have to put their oar in about Cesc Fabregas and how much they would lurrrvve him to join them at Barcelona.
David Villa is first up, and reveals that he has a “weakness”(!!!!) for his bumchum Cesc. He said: “I am not hiding what I think of Cesc. I have a weakness for him. I view him as a friend and hopefully he will complete his transfer.” Oh for gods sake; Get a room! (Hmm perhaps they will share one for away games….) .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal and Holland striker Robin Van Persie has just come back from a long lay-off through injury, but he was in brilliant form for the Gunners before he injured his ankle while playing for Holland.
He just got match fit again at the end of the season, and proved he was still in great form by scoring both goals in Hollands warm up match against Mexico. Since then the punters have plunged on him to be top scorer at the World Cup. He opened up as a 25/1 shot, yesterday Bet365 was the only firm still offering 20/1 but the money still kept coming. Today he is as low as 14/1 and could be challenging for favouritism before the tournament starts. .......Read the full article here

There has been speculation that Arsenal may get around £20m compensation from the Dutch FA after the debacle with Robin Van Persie, and the Daily Mirror is suggesting that Arsene Wenger has decided to use the money to pay for a top class replacement for his number one striker.
They say that Arsenal are considering a move for the top Spanish hitman David Villa, after Valencia revealed that they may be forced to sell him to balance their books.
Wenger knows that he will need a proven finisher if they are going to continue to be serious challengers for the title and the Champions League, and Villa has been added to the list that included Carlton Cole, before he got injured, and Edin Dzeko, who has now been ruled out as Wolfsburg are demanding too much money. .......Read the full article here
