Gnabry debut is the only consolation for Arsenal in Norwich defeat 34

Posted on October 22, 2012 by admin

Arsene Wenger could only look on in despair as his Arsenal team failed to make any inroads through the Norwich defence on Saturday evening, and with seven minutes to go the Frenchman decided to take off Ramsey and give a League debut to the young German Serge Gnabry to see if he could make a difference.

Although he only had little time to make an impression, Wenger was more than happy with his contribution to the team. “I think he’s one of the guys who was dangerous when he came on.” he said. “He was incisive,”

“He looked very interesting when he came on.”

Fabianski injured? Szczesny to face Man Utd? 33

Posted on December 13, 2010 by admin

Could this be the start of a new era at Arsenal? There is a report in today’s Sun that says that Lukasz Fabianski has suffered a leg injury, and that the young Pole Wojciech Szczesny is to be thrown in at the deep end by facing Man Utd at Old Trafford this evening.

Szczesny has never made a Premier League appearance before, but Arsene Wenger has always maintained faith in the fact he will be Arsenal’s Number One one day, and persuaded the youngster to sign a new contract just last month. Wenger said: “We are delighted to secure the long-term future of Wojciech, who we regard as a very important part of our Club’s future. We have all seen his huge potential, both in training and in the matches that he has played for us, so we look forward to seeing him develop further in the coming years.”

Capello calls up Gibbs, Wilshere and Walcott to new-look England squad 8

Posted on August 07, 2010 by admin

The England manager Fabio Capello has given his England squad a complete shake-up, and has dropped half the players that he took to South Africa for the disastrous World Cup campaign.

He has added Theo Walcott, who was so upset about being left behind in June, but also the two Arsenal youngsters Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere have received their first ever call ups for their country. Both of them are over the moon at their unexpected selection, but Wilshere is keeping his feet on the ground, and admits that becoming a regular for Arsenal must remain his first target.

Thierry Henry’s debut for Red Bulls will be against Tottenham! 10

Posted on July 14, 2010 by admin

I revealed last week that the Arsenal legend Thierry Henry had left Barcelona and is due to be unveiled by the New York Red Bulls on Thursday, and has now been officially announced , and his first match will be against the dreaded Spuds in a “friendly” game on the 22nd July!

Henry is over the moon to be taking over David Beckham’s position as the main ambassador for the MLS in promoting the soccer league across America. “This marks an exciting new chapter in my career and life,” Henry said. “It is an honour to play for the New York Red Bulls. I am fully aware of the team’s history and my sole goal during my time here is to help win the club its first championship. Knowing Red Bull’s significant commitment to soccer locally and internationally, I am confident that my team-mates and I will succeed.”
