Not long ago it was thought to be a done deal and Arsenal would soon have a new Dutch striker by the name of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but there have been a few changes at his club Schalke recently, and the 29-year old front man has been persuaded to sign a new contract that will keep him at the Bundesliga club until 2015.
Huntelaar had previously told his club that he would not be extended the contract that runs out next summer, so Arsenal were hoping to get him for around £5 million in January. Maybe the decision to sack the manager Huub Stevens recently, or who would replace him, has affected the player’s thoughts but he has changed his mind. .......Read the full article here

The Newcastle hitman Demba Ba has made it clear that he is free to join other clubs in January if they meet his paltry 7.5m buyout clause, and he has also admitted that Arsenal would be his “dream club” and he is hoping that Arsene Wenger will be making an offer.
His manager at Newcastle, Alan Pardew, has today admitted that he is powerless to stop the move if Arsenal come in for him, and it will simply be Ba’s decision. “It’s unfortunate that the contract he has raises a lot of questions,” said Pardew. .......Read the full article here

If ever there was a match made in heaven it is surely to be between a prolific Premiership goalcorer and Arsene Wenger this January. There is absolutely no doubt that Arsenal are desperate for a new striker, even without Marouane Chamakh leaving and Gervinho going off to the African Cup of Nations in the New Year, so surely this is an offer that Wenger can’t refuse?
The Newcastle hitman Demba Ba looks certain to be leaving Newcastle as he has the amazing buy-out clause of just £7.5million, which is an unbelievable price for a striker that has scored for fun since arriving in the UK, including 11 goals already this season. .......Read the full article here

It looks like Arsenal will have a choice of two strikers to buy in January, as Newcastle United are resigned to selling their 27-year old Senegalese striker Demba Ba when the January transfer window opens. The North East club and their owner, Mike Ashley, have failed to agree terms with Ba over a new contract, so are ready to move him on as soon as possible so they can get a replacement settled in.
Alan Pardew has had to live with the threat of another club exercising the release clause in Ba’s contract of £7.5 million, and have offered the striker a new deal worth around £70,000 per week, according to the Mirror. His agent is demanding £80,000 and the Magpies will not go that far, so it seems to be just a question of where, not if, he will go. .......Read the full article here

Arsenal have been having trouble putting the ball in the back of the net this season, despite having one of the best defensive records in the Premiership, and with the Arsenal rumour mill convinced that Wenger will be buying a new striker in January it is being whispered that Newcastle’s Demba Ba is on his way to the Emirates.
The Toon boss Alan Pardew has already admitted that Ba’s buyout clause leaves him vulnerable for departure for just £7.5million in January, and he admitted that no new deal had been agreed yet. He said: “We’ve had to board our training ground up because our team’s been leaked, and details of Demba’s contract have also been leaked since I’ve been here and that’s not acceptable. .......Read the full article here

There have been some Arsenal rumours lately saying that Arsene Wenger is considering signing Demba Ba from Newcastle this January. Although Arsenal have signed Olivier Giroud this summer, there is still very little backup for the centre-forward position if the new Frenchman gets injured, pretty much the same problem we had last year if RIP had returned to the treatment table.
Ba’s agent revealed that his client isn’t very happy at Newcastle, and now Alan Pardew has inadvertently revealed that Ba still has a get-out clause that could be activated in January. The Newcastle boss said: “The situation with him is ongoing in terms of his contract, as there is that clause in there and it makes us vulnerable. That’s where we are. It’s still open in the next window.” .......Read the full article here

Arsenal Back up Striker could be Ba by TS
Hey for a second there, I thought AW was content with Giroud and Chamakh as our two front line attackers. Then reports flew in like a pigeon to some bread that Newcastle are lining up a move for a replacement striker. Why? Well Arsenal are reportedly offering £7m for the prolific striker Demba Ba.
Ba has been somewhat of a spectacle since signing on a free transfer from West Ham last summer. To be modest, he’s scored some crackers last season and has a £7m release clause in his contract. So D day nonsense or actual possibility? Guess we’ll have to wait a little bit longer to find out. The player could quit St James’ Park with Arsenal offering him a step up the pecking order. .......Read the full article here

Arsenal should not be looking at Demba Ba by KJ
There of course has been a lot of talk regarding Arsenal signing a new striker and naturally, many names have been put forward. There has been one that completely puzzles me and that’s people calling for Demba Ba.
Now don’t get me wrong; Ba has had a great season for Newcastle. He managed to score a decent tally of 16 goals and 2 assists. However, this is only impressive for a mid-table club. Although Newcastle have had a really impressive season, I just don’t see them replicating that next year even if they manage to hold onto Cisse, Ba, Cabaye and Arfa. .......Read the full article here

There are certainly a good selection of Arsenal transfer rumours around this morning, but I’m not sure how many of them are even close to being likely! There is no doubt that Arsenal need a proper backup striker for Robin Van Persie, especially with the possibility that the Dutchman could be leaving next summer.
So there are a few strikers being linked this morning and Chelsea’s Salomon Kalou looks like a good possibility. He has a good scoring rate in the Premiership and Wenger has made a bid for the 26 year-old in the past. Another point in his favour is that Thierry Henry was his idol as a youngster so I’m sure he would jump at the chance to play for Arsenal. And with just six months left on his contract he is available for just £3m. I could see Wenger going for that…… .......Read the full article here
