Arsenal seemed to start well against newly-promoted Southampton yesterday but the longer the game went on the Saints looked more and more superior. Watching Arsene Wenger on the touchline you could see the dismay at his teams performance and often he just looked dejected.
After the game, he looked even more depressed as if the whole team had let him down personally and looked to be inches away from tears as he gave his unhappy after match report.
“It was a flat performance, overall,” he muttered. “We were disappointing going forward, we didn’t create enough, when you sum up the chances we created tonight it is very little. .......Read the full article here

Everton 1 -1 Arsenal, a disappointing result considering last Saturday by KJ
A draw at Goodison is a point gained in most cases but today, it’s two points lost. That draw against Villa has skewed today’s result because we’ve only managed to get half (2) of the points I expected (4) from the two games.
For once, we started the game brilliantly scoring a goal almost immediately. .......Read the full article here

The Swiss centre-back Johann Djourou has been at Arsenal for many years, and it was hoped that he would grow into a world-class centre-back, but after seven years at the club (He’s 25 now) he is still nothing but a bit part-player at the Emirates.
He played a record 22 games for Arsenal last season, but that was only due to the usual extended defensive injury list, and this season’s similar injury problems means that he has played a few games as right back.
But if ALL Arsenal’s defenders were available, Djourou would be fourth-choice centre-back, and after Wenger hauled him off against Man United and replaced him with the untested Nicholas Yennaris it is even more unlikely that he will be used as a right-back again. .......Read the full article here

Arsenal’s terrible run at Old Trafford never really looked like being overturned last night as Manchester United took the three points to go two points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
Arsene Wenger complained about the quality of the pitch, but admitted it was the same for both sides, while Samir Nasri believes that the game was too tactical to be a pleasing spectacle for the watching fans.
Nasri said: “There was much physical engagement from the two teams. It was a tactical match and there were not many chances.
“We answered well after going behind, but unfortunately the goal was scored. .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Eboue is not happy with his teams defeat in the Ukraine this week, and thinks that have now got to concentrate to make sure they go through to the knock-out stages.
A win at Donetsk would have given them a six point cushion over both Shakhtar and Braga, but now they find themselves level on points with their Ukranian rivals, and just three points ahead of Braga who they have to visit next. An unthinkable defeat in Portugal could leave them facing a high pressure final match against Partizan in heir final game. .......Read the full article here

I don’t really know what to say to be honest. Yes Arsenal have got a few injuries, but after OUR RESERVES beating Tottenham at the lane during the week, you would think that we had a much stronger team than West Brom..
So most of the players that played today had a rest during the week, and saw that their places were at risk by the quality coming through from the reserves, but did that inspire them to play better? NO!
All I can say is that is the most embarrassing result I have known for a long, long time, and I just dread to see Wenger come out and say that Arsenal can still win the Premiership. .......Read the full article here

On paper, France was expected to play a superior brand of football when compared to all the other teams present in Group A but their opening match with Uruguay ended in a tame goalless draw and turned out to be a big disappointment for all their fans as they performed far below par.
With a star studded lineup, fans from around the world expected France to play an aggressive game of football and walk away with a win. They started well as they looked to shake off rumors of there being a rift in the team. However, 10 minutes into the game, I got the impression that both teams started playing safe and were more focused on not conceding a goal instead of scoring one and it made for a boring brand of football. .......Read the full article here
