Now this is a very interesting conundrum for Arsene Wenger as he ponders who to put in the Arsenal goal for next Tuesday’s game against Wigan. Wojciech Szczesny was dropped for the Champions League game away at Bayern Munich after some inconsistent performances and was swiftly replaced by Lukasz Fabianski who went on to perform well in five wins in a row (conceding just three goals) before being cruelly injured against Norwich.
Now the 27 year-old is back fit and ready and expects his place back from his younger compatriot. He said yesterday on Arsenal.com: I’m hoping that it’s going to go my way,” .......Read the full article here

Should we should offer Fabianski a new contract! by AH
Lukas Fabianski is a player full of controversy! He has managed to not only divide the fans but he also has the ability to amaze fans one week and then make them as angry as possible the next.
For me, this season, Fabianski has been a massive improvement over the last few years however the question is can he keep it up?
Fabianski is out of contract at the end of the season, and although at first he seemed to be one of the players we were looking forward to getting off our wage bill, suddenly I think we should be looking to try to sign him up to a contract extension as soon as possible! .......Read the full article here

The England winger Theo Walcott has arguably been one of Arsenal’s best performers this season when he has been given time on the pitch, but with the contract extension hanging over him like a dark cloud, has Wenger finally decided to take him out of the team completely.
This weekend Wenger says that Walcott has a “calf problem”, but we all know that the manager has regularly invented injuries for players when he doesn’t want them to play or for personal reasons, and Wenger’s reaction to questions about Walcott’s contract gives me reason to think that that is the case now. .......Read the full article here

Ivan Gazidis made it clear this week that Arsenal would not be giving in to Theo Walcott’s wage demands to persuade him to sign a contract extension, so it would seem that Arsene Wenger will need to cash in on the wannabe striker in January, but who is Wenger likely to replace him with?
Thomas Eisfeld is the obvious candidate to be promoted from the reserves. He has only been at Arsenal for a year but has come on in leaps and bounds and was especially impressive in the pre-season games. The Germany youth star believes he has improved since then. .......Read the full article here

£100k a week, for the player that scared the pants off Messi & Guardiola? by Paul N.
According to media sources, Arsenal Football Club is apparently struggling to close a deal with a certain player who Lionel Messi himself once quoted as “one of the most dangerous players I have ever played against”. It is rumored that the player is holding out for a salary of about £100k a week.
Is this player worth £100k per week? I for one believe he is worth every penny and – in my opinion – is probably one of the most underrated player’s at the moment. So who’s this player? Theo Walcott. And I’m not at all surprised that so many AFC fans frown upon the salary he is reported to have asked for. .......Read the full article here

Fulham’s big defender brede Hangeland has been linked with Arsenal for many years, but since then Arsene Wenger has brought in Thomas Vermaelen (now captain), Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker, leaving the Swiss Johan Djourou as the odd man out in a brilliant foursome, with many Arsenal fans begging Wenger to sell him this summer.
Hangeland has always been loyal to Fulham despite their yearly change of manager, but it seems that this time around he has decided to refuse to sign the contract extension at Craven Cottage and he could be a free agent come next summers transfer window, and I firmly believe he would be the perfect back up to the Invincible three centre-backs we already have. .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal contract rebel Theo Walcott has not started a game for the Gunners since the beginning of this season with his contract negotiations at a stalemate, and Arsene Wenger has admitted that if the situation is not solved in the next two months then he will have to consider selling him on before his contract runs out.
“I haven’t picked him, it’s true, and it’s quite a good question,” Wenger said. “I still hope to sign him and the next two months will be vital because, after that, the longer this situation lasts the more difficult it is. .......Read the full article here

The young Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has taken another big step by being included in the England sauad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers (ahead of Theo Walcott no less), and there has been talk of Arsenal offering him a new improved and extended contract to make sure he remains at the club for as long as possible.
Chamberlain has made it clear that he would be more than willing to sit down and talk about an extension but this week is not the time to do it…. “I am here to play for England this week,” he said. .......Read the full article here

The young Polish international Wojciech Szczesny has made it clear that he wants to play his whole career at Arsenal, and is hoping to get a very long term contract the next time he sits down with the management to discuss an extension to his present deal.
Being only 21 years of age he could easily keep his position for another 15 years or so if he carries on improving, and he has made it clear that this is exactly his ambition. .......Read the full article here

With the transfer window rapidly drawing to a close and still no evidence of progress in the talks between Arsenal and Theo Walcott over a contract extension, it is becoming more and more likely that the England winger will be sold very shortly.
The latest Arsenal rumours concerning Jesus Navas would also point to the fact that Wenger is looking at some contingency plans in case of Walcott’s departure, so perhaps it is time for us to consider possible destinations for the 23 year-old. .......Read the full article here

After the news about Robin Van Persie, Arsenal fans are now bracing themselves for another shock as the news that a delegation from Arsenal arrived in London yesterday to begin negotiations with Arsenal about their midfielder Alex Song. Sending RVP to Manchester has made United the favourites for the title in the Football betting on Top Bet and losing Song will push Arsenal even lower down in the betting.
Arsene Wenger made a statement the other day saying that he hadn’t received any bids for the Cameroon international but it seems that is about to change today as Wenger fights to keep one of his most influential players from last season. In fact the Twitterati are alive with rumours that Song is as good as already in training with the Catalans. .......Read the full article here

The latest news regarding Theo Walcott’s contract talks with the Arsenal management are looking a little worrying, as he has made it clear that he is unlikely to sign a new deal before the end of the current transfer window.
Walcott was asked about the ongoing talks, and although he hinted that he was sure to sign a new deal in the end, it is still a risk on Arsenal’s part because if he DOESN’T sign then he could leave for free next summer.
He said: “The club and my agent are talking but it is a slow process and my last contract took six months to agree – but it will come,” .......Read the full article here
