Arsenal keeper ready to Polish off Montpellier 20

Posted on November 19, 2012 by Bob

Wojciech Szczesny will make his debut in this season’s Champions league on Wednesday when Arsenal host the French champions Montpellier on matchday five. The Polish international keeper is in bullish mood after Arsenal saw off Tottenham in the North London derby.

“We couldn’t get a better time to play that game. We are buzzing today, we can’t wait for the next game. We’re confident.

“We’ve had a couple of poor results recently, but we’re back on track and we’re confident that we can get the three points and qualify for the knockout stages, which is the least you can expect from us.

Arsenal fans must get behind Olivier Giroud! Show your support! 39

Posted on September 07, 2012 by admin

Summer signing Oliver Giroud has had a bit of a rough time in the English Premier League so far, by both the fans and the pundits. His performances have deserved some criticism as he hasn’t performed to his maximum, but every player takes time to adapt, its different for individual players. There’s no doubt that the Frenchman has quality as he finished as Ligue 1 top scorer last season as he helped Champions League opponents Montpellier drive onto the French first division title. But now he is in England and must take his opportunity when it comes before the pressure builds too high for him.

Four Arsenal fans arrested at Anfield over city-centre murder investigation 66

Posted on September 04, 2012 by admin

The night before Arsenal faced Liverpool at Anfield this weekend, it seems that a London scaffolder called Stuart Smith was in Liverpool City Centre with a local girl when he was brutally attacked by a bunch of Arsenal supporters outside the Chameleon club in Back Colquitt Street. The victim was taken to the Royal Hospital but died soon after his arrival.

His female companion, Sophie Cowan, couldn’t believe that no-one came to rescue Mr Smith while he was being set upon. Her father told the press: “She was screaming for someone to help Stuart while he was being attacked.

Adam Kemp – Arsenal fans are taken for mugs once again! 88

Arsenal will certainly struggle to challenge for any silverware this season! by Adam Kemp

In February Arsenal’s end of year report stated ‘Arsenal holdings is now operating free of short term debt’ – unaudited net debt stands at £137.05M whilst its cash reserves have risen to £115.2M. Arsenal was in a very strong position financially before the end of last season which proves wrong that the Emirates are no longer a restriction. On turnover alone, Arsenal is one of the wealthiest clubs in the world and consistently makes a healthy pre-tax profit in excess of £30M year on year. Wenger could have spent a further £50M on players this summer without making a dent in our financial constraints.

Why is Fabregas picked on by Spain and Barcelona fans? 58

Why is there bad blood between Fabregas and the Barcelona fans? by KJ

During these Euros, I’ve found out quite a lot about the relationship between the Barcelona/Spanish fans and Fabregas. From what I’ve seen, it’s quite hostile and I don’t even know why.

Now apparently, Fabregas went on strike during the end of last season. However, there have been many gaps in this theory. I’ve asked many times and yet people refuse to give me evidence regarding this refusal to play by Cesc. Even then, they can’t pin point at what time he decided it was enough and stopped playing for the club. Finally, the most credible source that explains this whole situation is someone’s twitter account. Forgive me, but I don’t know how anyone can actually accuse Cesc of anything when there is literally no sufficient evidence regarding the whole situation.

Nasri – I hope Arsenal fans are watching me collect my medal 188

Posted on May 15, 2012 by admin

The well-known Arsenal traitor Samir Nasri has been gloating about winning the Premier League with Man City (by the skin of his teeth I might add) and thinks that has givem him proof that he was right to want to leave Arsenal last summer.

He said: “People at Arsenal tried to make out that I came here for the money,”

“I hope they are watching me now, collecting my Premier League winner’s medal. I believe they have not won a trophy for many years now.

“If all that I was interested in was money, the easiest decision would have been to stay at Arsenal, picking up my money every week and walking into the team.

Wenger – Arsenal can bounce back but we need the fans behind us 27

Posted on February 18, 2012 by admin

Arsene Wenger is certain that his team can bounce back from the embarrassment of the 4-0 defeat at AC Milan in midweek, but he is hopeful that the travelling Arsenal fans won’t hold the Milan debacle against the team and will back them today.

“The fans were absolutely fantastic in Milan and we can only say sorry.” Wenger said. “On Saturday there will be another fight and we want them to be on our side of course. I am sure they will be.”

Arsenal, Wenger and The Board have a big problem – COMMUNICATION! 33

Posted on February 17, 2012 by admin

To my mind, all that the Emirates seems to be is a great big question generating machine. As far as I can tell we never get any concrete information from the club.

Is our whole problem based on a lack of communication.

Arsenal fans are unhappy as we don’t know anything about our clubs direction, ideas or plans. We all know that Arsene, and, we assume, the Arsenal board, have a business model as to how our club, and all clubs, should be run. This is obvious as UEFA have praised us and declared that all clubs should model themselves on us. In debt as we are, it is ‘real, honest, useful, gaining’ debt rather than the somewhat questionable debt that Man Utd etc possess. That said we now have an American in charge, which I feel is slightly concerning. Speaking of which, you don’t get a nickname like ‘Silent’ for anything other than being less than communicative. Point proven.

Milan v Arsenal – How should the fans react? 69

Posted on February 16, 2012 by admin

Ooooft… What a match and what a day. I can’t think of much else to say or do – besides go to sleep where, hopefully, I won’t have to face the disappointment of today’s game. It is especially disappointing as I truly believed that we had the quality to go to Milan and get a result tonight; clearly, I was mistaken and I hold my hands up for that.

The harsh reality is also that the atmosphere around Arsenal is immediately going to be turned into one of depression and gloom. I would urge Arsenal fans not to be too disheartened by the result for one very simple reason: it won’t help at all. I won’t help you and it won’t help Arsenal Football Club.

Wenger – Being 7th is a credit to me and I will make the Arsenal fans happy 31

Posted on February 04, 2012 by admin

Arsene Wenger is proud of his record of always finishing in the Top Four of the Premiership and he intends to return to that position again by the end of the season.

But right now Arsenal face Blackburn looking up from 7th place in the League, and Wenger considers that as this is the lowest the Gunners have ever been while he has been manager is actually a compliment to his consistency over the years.

“The fact that we have never been in this position is rather a credit to me in 16 years so I do not take that as blame,” he said.

Wenger Tells Fans To Get Behind The Team 11

Posted on October 02, 2011 by admin

Arsenal Tottenham games are always spicy affairs, but today it has a little extra spice attached because of a certain striker called Emmanuel Adebayor. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has already expressed his concerns about player abuse now it is the time of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Redknapp and Wenger both expect Adebayor to cop his fair share of stick today, but speaking yesterday Wenger said, “That is what you don’t want. You want people to support the team in a positive way, not all the hate. A football game is a fantastic day that everyone has to enjoy and with a positive atmosphere it is even more fantastic.”

Fabregas tells the fans he’ll stay at Arsenal….. 53

Posted on May 17, 2011 by admin

The Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has declared that he intends to end the Gunners barren six-year spell without a trophy, and he is determined to do it because he owes it to the fans that support Arsenal wherever they play.

He said: “I want to thank the fans, whether they follow us at home, away or both.”

“Away from home, we often feel as if we are playing in our own stadium; so many people travel all over Europe with us despite having families, jobs and other commitments, and their dedication is remarkable. What they do is wonderful and we appreciate it a lot.
