Arsenal lining up two possible replacements for Bacary Sagna 35

Posted on May 10, 2013 by admin

Since Bacary Sagna’s statement last week that he is open to PSG, Monaco or any other offer this summer has made it clear that he has not entered into talks with Arsenal over a contract extension, which seems to point to the fact that he will definitely be leaving at the end of the season.

So, as Arsenal are likely to be in the market for a talented right-back, the Mail reports that the Gunners scouts have been looking around for his replacement, and the two top targets are said to be the Polish international Lukasz Piszczek, who is currently playing for Dortmund, and the Feyenoord right-back Daryl Janmaat, who has recently become a regular in the Dutch national team.

Ryo getting ready to play for Arsenal 35

Posted on April 24, 2013 by Bob

Ryo Miyaichi has been an Arsenal player for over two years now, but he is still waiting to make his Premier League debut for the club. The 20-year old is well on the road to recovery after picking up an ankle injury during his recent loan spell at Wigan Athletic. The Japanese international is hoping to be fit enough to take part in the pre-season training and tours with Arsenal and finally force himself into first team contention.

“Being there helped me to grow up,” said Miyaichi. “As a person, I’m growing up every day. When I was at Wigan the training was very good and the people are very kind so I got some good experience there. I feel I’m improving but I need to keep working hard.”

Van Persie proves his lack of class with disrespect to Arsenal 120

Posted on March 25, 2013 by Bob

I know that some Arsenal fans have found it hard to be too angry with the former Gunner Robin van Persie. After eight years without a trophy they could understand that he wanted to move to Manchester United to win some silverware. The Dutchman has previously professed his love for Arsenal. the fans and Arsene Wenger as he tried to restrict the bad feeling of Gooners towards him.

That all seems to have gone out of the window now, and he is behaving more like Samir Nasri and Ashley Cole did, disparaging his former club and appearing to forget any loyalty he might have had. He also seems to have conveniently forgotten that it was Arsene Wenger who turned him into a world class player and stuck with him through his many injury problems.

More injury misery for Arsenal loanee Miyaichi 55

Posted on March 09, 2013 by Bob

It seems as if Arsenal fans will have to wait even longer to see the talents of Ryo Miyaichi on display at the Emirates Stadium. If the player dubbed the Japanese Messi does not start having better luck, he may never make it as a Gunner, because he suffered another blow today on his return from injury.

The 20-year old winger/striker has just come back from a lengthy lay off due to another ankle injury. He played in the under 21s for Wigan earlier this week, and was brought on at the end of the first half of the FA cup tie at Everton. Wigan were already 3-0 up, so it was a great opportunity for Miyaichi to get some badly needed time on the pitch, and the youngster would have been happy with his contribution.

Arsenal linked with Dutch Xavi by AH

Although it’s only March and the transfer window is far away from being opened the transfer rumours continue to come out from all aspects of media. Most of the time, they are pure rubbish however one that has been consistent for the last few days has really caught my eye.

Jordy Clasie is a name most people probably haven’t heard of before but he is renowned as the “Dutch Xavi” with the Feyenoord midfielder being likened to the Spanish star and Barcalona maestro Xavi Hernandez because of his drive and wide range of passing abilities.

Arsenal transfer rumours-Cornelius and Clasie 45

Posted on March 06, 2013 by Bob

Arsenal are being linked with two more players in the papers today, but neither is the kind of big name signing that the fans are hoping to see in the summer. One is a 6ft 4in Danish striker, but don’t worry it is not Bendy. 19-year old Andreas Cornelius plays for FC Copenhagen and has been pretty impressive this season, scoring 14 league goals in 20 games.

The young striker also has three senior caps for Denmark and is being tracked by Manchester United as well as Arsenal, according to the Express. Cornelius seems to have his head screwed on properly and has told the Danish media that, although he would love to play in the Premier League one day, he is focusing on his football development with his current club.

Wenger will NOT let Sagna leave Arsenal 26

Posted on February 22, 2013 by Bob

Maybe we are about to see a new side of Arsene Wenger. First the mild-mannered Arsenal boss gives a few journalists a bit of a savaging, and now he insists that he is in charge and it is up to him whether a player is allowed to leave or not. Whatever next? Telling Nicklas Bendtner that he is NOT the greatest striker in the world, maybe, or pointing out to Gervinho that the idea is to get the round thing to one of your team mates or into the back of the net?

Arsenal target Dutch defender while Djourou swaps for Matri 28

Posted on November 30, 2012 by Bob

The Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has been a Gunner for his whole career, apart from a loan spell at Birmingham City, but it looks like that could be coming to an end. There was talk of the Swiss international defender moving on this summer, with a few Serie A clubs interested, but Arsene Wenger assured the 25-year old that there was still a role for him at the Emirates.

With just one appearance in the Capital One cup to his name so far, that role seems to involve keeping a seat in the stands warm. With the injury to Koscielny, Djourou might think that now is his chance and if he doesn’t play, then he will want a move. This could be good news for Arsenal, as Juventus are said to be interested in him, while their 28-year old striker Alessandro Matri is looking for a move away.

Arsenal chasing prolific young Swedish striker 24

Posted on December 28, 2011 by admin

There have been numerous reports lately linking Arsenal with the prolific young Swede John Guidetti, who is currently on loan at Feyenoord in Holland from Manchester City. The 19 year-old has burst upon the scene in the Eredvisie lately with 11 goals (in just 12 games), including a match-winning hat-trick against title contenders FC Twente in the first 45 minutes of the game.

Guidetti is only halfway through his loan period, but with the array of top strikers at the Etihad Stadium there is little chance of the youngster breaking into the first team when he returns, whereas Arsene Wenger is desperate for a top class youngster to be blooded to replace Robin Van Persie in the future.

Feyenoord look set to sign Arsenal starlet after loan period 12

Posted on November 24, 2011 by admin

Just after Sanchez Watt completed his move to Sheffield Wednesday yesterday, Oguzhan Ozyakup seems to be set to go back to the Netherlands to join Feyenoord.

The 19-year-old midfielder is looking to gain some valuable first-team experience and is prepared to go out on loan to do so. The Dutchman also revealed that he was very close to joining Feyenoord in the summer and is hoping that Arsenal can come to an arrangement during the transfer window.

He told Voetbal International: “The story with Feyenoord was very serious, we were very close.

“Why it didn’t happen is a bit unclear, but it may happen in January. But it’s not up to me. My preference is to atleast think about the Netherlands.”

Feyenoord tell Arsenal – Let us keep Miyaichi another year! 14

Posted on June 01, 2011 by admin

The Dutch giants Feyenoord very kindly took the young Japanese starlet Ryo Myaichi on loan in January after Arsene Wenger failed in his bid to get a “special talent” work permit for the 18 year-old.

The youngster scored on his debut for Feyenoord and soon became a regular starter. He impressed all and sundry with his silky skills and mesmerising runs, which of course the Dutch side fully reported to Wenger and his scouts.

He did so well that Wenger has decided to bring him back to Arsenal for the pre-season games and tour before applying for another work permit before the season starts.

Miyaichi thanks Feyenoord for helping him grow 16

Posted on May 24, 2011 by admin

The newest Arsenal starlet Ryo Miyaichi has come on leaps and bounds since arriving in Europe and has become a favourite with the Feyenoord fans where he has been on loan since January.

The Japanese striker is to rejoin the Gunners for the pre-season ahead of Arsenal applying for a new work permit (and the cynical might say he would be an extra draw on the summer tour of Asia?), and he has only good things to say about the support he was given while he was in Holland.

My time at Feyenoord has been even more wonderful than I had originally expected,” Miyaichi said. “This was my first experience living abroad, and that was awesome.
