There are still a lot of Arsenal transfer rumours about, but today they all seem to be negatives! To start with we have the Bordeaux playmaker Joann Gourcuff, who has been tipped to rejoin his old strike partner Marouane Chamakh at the Emirates.
The biggest investor in the French giants, Nicolas de Tavernost, stated today that he would rather leave all talk until after the World Cup.
“Contrary to what I have heard, we have the means to keep him at the club next season,” De Tavernost told L’Equipe.

It has been another busy day for Arsenal transfer news in the papers, some of it positive, some not so good.
We’ll start off with Yoann Gourcuff, who has been widely tipped to bbe Wenger’s marquee signing this summer. The Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud, who isn’t happy with the way that Arsenal poached Marouane Chamakh anyway, has categorically stated that any Arsenal move for Gourcuff is simply an invention of the English press.

There is lots of Arsenal transfer news about this morning, and two of them are about Arsenal trying to nick players from their greatest local rivals, Tottenham and Chelsea.
According to the London Metro, the reason that Luka Modric was given a new six-year contract at White Hart Lane was because Arsene Wenger had made an approach to take the Croatian playmaker to Arsenal.

There has been many Arsenal rumours this week contemplating who Arsene Wenger should buy to replace his captain Cesc Fabregas if he moves to Barcelona.
The Express yesterday seemed to think that Wenger was set to return to Bordeaux to poach Marouane Chamakh’s former team-mate Yoann Gourcuff, as the perfect replacement.
The French international already has an understanding with Arsenal’s new striker, and is blessed with the same silky skills we have come to expect from Fabregas.
