It has been confirmed today on Sky Sports News that Arsenal and Hamburg have reached the agreement to see defender Johan Djourou swap London for Hamburg. The Swiss defender leaves the Gunners for German side Hamburg in what is a permanent move following on from his season long loan deal with the club. .......Read the full article here
Djourou gives a hint he wants to leave Arsenal permanently! by Ash
Johan Djourou really has become a lost name at Arsenal and although he may not be currently with the club, I still believe he has the ability to remain with the Gunners for a few more years at least.
Djourou is currently out on loan for the season in Germany with HSV Hamburg from Arsenal. The defender left the Gunners this summer on loan because he wanted to attain more playing time ahead of the World Cup, whilst presumably not breaking of all connection with the major English club. However that could be all set to change this summer, with the Swiss international defender giving his biggest hint yet that he intends to leave North London on a permanent basis. .......Read the full article here
Most Arsenal fans may not have heard of him, and he is not the striker that many of us feel is the priority for the January transfer window, but the young Hamburg player Hakan Calhanoglu could be swapping the German Bundesliga for the Premier League and Arsenal, according to his agent.
The 19-year old attacking midfielder has been one of the rising stars of German football this season, scoring three goals already and attracting interest from various clubs, but the Talksport report about Arsenal’s potential bid for him will not have many Gooners getting too excited. After all, with Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and the rest, do we really need another attacking midfielder? Would he even get a game? .......Read the full article here
Arsenal’s Johan Djourou looks pretty much certain to secure a move away from the Emirates this summer with a number of clubs lining up for the Swiss International’s signature, but whether he will once again be leaving on loan or if in fact it will be a permanent deal this time around is yet to be seen.
Djourou has attracted interest from several European clubs this summer, with the main competitors seemingly being German rivals Hannover 96 and Hamburg. .......Read the full article here
Johan Djourou seems odds on this summer to leave Arsenal with clubs in Germany, France and Spain all keen to secure the players services for next season. The most interest comes from Germany, with both Hannover 96 and Hamburger SV both expressing an interest in Djourou, whilst some Arsenal fans seem to think that perhaps Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler will be involved in any potential deal.
“We would take him on loan or buy him, depending on which is better for Arsenal,” Hamburg’s sports director Oliver Kreuzer told German daily Bild. .......Read the full article here
I don’t know how many Arsenal fans agree with me, but I feel a little bit sorry for Johan Djourou. After joining the Gunners as a promising 15-year old in 2002, his career has never really managed to take off as he would have liked. He was not happy being the fourth choice centre back, so Arsene Wenger finally relented last season and let him go on loan to Hannover in the Bundesliga. .......Read the full article here
Navas, Dragovic and Son is not a removal company by the way, it is three different football players who have been linked with a possible summer transfer switch to Arsenal. Arsene Wenger and the club will have a good idea of the players they want to sign this summer, but a lot could still depend on where we finish in the table.
Jesus Navas, the Spanish international winger, has been linked with the Gunners before. He is fast, tricky and provides great service to the attack, which is something we really need. The standard of crossing at the Emirates this season has been appalling and is one of the main reasons, I think, that Olivier Giroud has not scored a lot more goals. .......Read the full article here
Wojciech Szczesny may have the next four games of the Premier League to prove himself once again at Arsenal but, even if he produces four faultless displays, it is still likely that Arsene Wenger will bring in a new keeper in the summer. This season has proved that the Polish international needs to be pushed for his place to keep him on his toes. .......Read the full article here
Get ready to be happy Gooners. The Arsenal loanee and self confessed all-round superstar Nicklas Bendtner may have found himself a new club. It is not Juventus, the club where he is currently on loan until the end of the season, but the German Bundesliga side Hamburg.
It seems clear that he has failed to convince Juventus of his awesome abilities, and they would probably have sent him back already if they could. The Turin club is marching towards the Italian title again without the Danish internationals help. Bendtner has made nine appearances, most as a substitute, but has yet to score andmay not get any more chances after his latest drink driving exploits. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the South Korean striker Son Heung-Min who plays for the German Bundesliga side Hamburg. The 20-year old is a goal poacher whose skills have led to him being nicknamed `Korean Muller` by his team mates after the legendary German striker Gerd Muller, whose long standing record of 85 goals in a calendar year is currently under threat by Lionel Messi. .......Read the full article here
Sometimes you just see an Arsenal transfer rumour that is just so unbelievable it makes you wonder if the people who write in the papers actually bother to read their previous reports or whether they think the readers have VERY short memories!
Todays Mirror tells this story: Arsenal are set to hijack Chelsea’s move for giant Belgian Romelu Lukaku.
The Anderlecht striker, who is just 18, is valued at around £17.5m and it was thought his move to Chelsea was virtually a done deal. .......Read the full article here
The Ivory Coast defender Guy Demel was at Arsenal briefly as a 20 year-old, but couldn’t settle in London and was very quickly allowed to move on to Germany, playing for ten years in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg.
But now, according to ESPN, he is now available on a free transfer and is desperate for a return to the Premiership before he retires.
He said yesterday: “I used to play at Arsenal but that was a long time ago and I am ready to go back. I am more experienced now and my desire is to return to England.” .......Read the full article here
