Could United loss open the door for Arsenal to sign Hernandez?

Arsenal need a striker and Javier Hernandez seems to need a club that will value him and play him regularly. The Mexican international striker has started just eight games in all competitions this season, even though Manchester United have been without Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney for various periods, so Hernandez must be thinking that he might have to move.

With Mexico having qualified for the World Cup in Brazil and players fighting for a place in the squad, the 25-year old will want to play week in, week out. Arsenal have their two main strikers, Bendtner and Giroud, injured and even when fit they are very similar while Hernandez would offer something different.

Arsenal target Hernandez to be offered new United contract

There is a general consensus among Arsenal fans that the most important thing for Arsene Wenger to do in the January transfer window is to bring in another striker, whether to push Olivier Giroud for his place or to support him and offer Arsenal something different.

And whatever Jose Mourinho says about letting us have one of Chelsea’s dozens of strikers on loan, just wait until the last day, Wenger needs to move quickly and make sure that Arsenal do not end up with just one centre forward again. I am not counting Nicklas Bendtner, once bitten twice shy and all that.

Should Arsenal rescue Hernandez from United limbo?

One former Arsenal striker, Carlos Vela, who eventually moved on because of a lack of playing opportunities, has been talking about his international team mate being in a similar situation at Manchester United. Javier Hernandez seems to be seriously considering his future at Old Trafford and I think he could make a great addition to the Arsenal squad if he is available.

An ESPN report reveals that the Mexican striker re-tweeted an article quoting Vela. The thrust of the story was that Hernandez will have to think about leaving United unless he starts to be used more by David Moyes. He later removed his tweet, but it is clear that it is on his mind.

Arsenal to make a January swoop on United for Hernandez?

Do we need a little bit of Hernandez? by Ash

Arsenal have been doing perfectly well up front so far this season and we have certainly scored plenty of goals, most of which have actually come from midfield with Aaron Ramsey. However that’s beside the point and it is in fact Frenchman Olivier Giroud who has been in the limelight regarding Arsenal’s goal scoring prowess so far this season.

1 of these 4 strikers could make Arsenal complete and compete

The strikers Wenger should really be looking at. By stefanthegooner1

Dear Gooners, I would just like to reiterate that I am still buzzing over Arsenal signing Mesut Ozil. He is a world class talent that will definitely improve our squad. The thought of him linking up with Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere in midfield is just mouth watering! However, I still do believe we are one signing away from challenging for the title.

Arsenal now have a real chance to sign Higuain

Although we have no real way of knowing for sure who Arsene Wenger is targeting for an Arsenal transfer this summer, there is probably a certain element of truth in the most prevalent media reports. That does not mean, however, that the Gunners will be able to acquire the players they want, especially as we get into the upper echelons of players.

Arsenal should raid Man United – But not for Rooney!

Are we trying to buy the wrong Man U striker!? by DG

If you buy any paper today you will be inundated with rumours, reports and speculation that Arsenal are set to launch a sensational bid for Wayne Rooney. If these reports are to be believed (and when did a tabloid paper ever get a transfer rumour wrong…) then Wenger will make a bid of £25 million pounds for the 27 year old. I have no doubt that Rooney would score a hatful of goals for Arsenal – he has always scored goals for United even when playing through one of his ‘off’ seasons. However, if we’re going to make a £25m bid for one of their strikers, should we really be looking at Rooney?

Agent reveals €18m Arsenal bid

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been keeping tabs on Serie A young striker Abel Hernandez according to the player’s agent. If what Vicenzo D’Ippolito is saying is right, than the Gunners offered Palermo £15m for the services of the 21-year-old.

The young Uruguayan scored 18 goals in 66 appearances for Serie A side Palermo and this boosted him in the senior national squad where he also managed to score 3 goals in 8 games, so the stats recommend the player despite the high price Palermo put on the boy.

Arsenal chasing top Spanish midfielder

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger, while still looking for solutions in the Gunners midfield, has identified thr 26-year-old Valencia winger Pablo Hernandez as a possible arrival in January. Also used as an attacking midfielder, the Spaniard is not really what you’d call a striker, but more of a playmaker like former colleagues David Silva or Juan Mata.

The Gunners still have big problems in the midfield area with Wilshere out for the year and Abou Diaby still to play in his first game since May. Benayoun didn’t prove to be quite the midfielder Arsene Wenger hoped for, and Ramsey is in a complete lack of form since the start of the season, so the Frenchman is looking for possible January targets.

Why Vela didn’t go to Bolton, despite the deal being agreed….

The news broke yesterday in all the Arsenal Blogs that Carlos Vela was set to follow in the footsteps of Jack Wilshere by spending the second half of the season playing at Bolton under Owen Coyle, but, despite an agreement in place and ready to sign, Vela eventually ended up signing for West Brom.

Well today the Bolton News has revealed that once the loan amount had been agreed between Arsenal and Bolton, suddenly Vela’s agent, Eduardo Hernández, decided that he wanted a much bigger arrangement fee than originally asked for, and the Bolton management basically told him to get stuffed!
