Why Wenger is finding it hard to find new Arsenal Stars! 77

Wenger needs to move with modern football by N21 Gooner

With no disrespect to Diame at all, I think he is talented and hard working, but this policy of trying to find underpriced talent must stop. I think its a fundamental problem for us right now, it seems to go unchallenged at the club and so we are speculating with almost every signing, hoping that we have discovered something that no one else has but at a fraction of the price.

Wenger tells Arsenal fans not to panic but we need a reason! 119

Arsene Wenger is expected to bring some significant new players in to the Arsenal side during the transfer window this month. There are some key positions that need improving and covering in case of injury, and Ivan Gazidis has indicated that the Arsenal board will back Wenger to spend some decent money, although the amount is debatable.

It is no surprise, then, that some Gooners have reacted angrily to the Gunners missing out on four players who have been linked with a move to the Emirates. First, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar decided to sign a new contract with his club, Schalke. Then, Chelsea activated the £7 million release clause and signed Demba Ba, while Juventus have almost wrapped up the transfer of the Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente.

Schalke star Holtby could be at Arsenal in January! 44

Posted on December 28, 2012 by Bob

Arsenal are believed to be the favourites to be the next club of Lewis Holtby. The midfielder, who plays for the German Bundesliga side Schalke, has decided not to sign a new contract and could leave on a free transfer in the summer. Liverpool are also very keen on the 22-year old, but his English father is an Everton fan, and Holtby has said that he would be reluctant to join their rivals.

Arsenal WILL sign Spanish striker 95

Why I’m certain that Wenger will get a striker from Spain in January by KJ

There’s been a lot of talk about Wenger buying a striker in January as Arsenal clearly need one. However, one of our targets Klaas Jan Huntelaar has signed a 2 year contract extension at Schalke 04. In my opinion, that’s brilliant news for Arsenal as he’s not close to being a striker good enough for Arsenal. However, Arsenal are looking through La Liga for our next striker as their economy is in a mess at the moment and many teams are in debt. This means Wenger can find a brilliant player at a good price. Here’s the targets:

The Hunt is Off – Arsenal target signs deal with Schalke 42

Posted on December 23, 2012 by Bob

Not long ago it was thought to be a done deal and Arsenal would soon have a new Dutch striker by the name of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but there have been a few changes at his club Schalke recently, and the 29-year old front man has been persuaded to sign a new contract that will keep him at the Bundesliga club until 2015.

Huntelaar had previously told his club that he would not be extended the contract that runs out next summer, so Arsenal were hoping to get him for around £5 million in January. Maybe the decision to sack the manager Huub Stevens recently, or who would replace him, has affected the player’s thoughts but he has changed his mind.

Arsenal Debate: Would you prefer David Villa, Ba or Huntelaar? 138

Are Arsenal in for David Villa? by KJ

It’s no secret that Arsenal are in desperate need for a striker. Giroud by all accounts has struggled to adapt and his goal scoring form is non-existent. There have been vague rumours that Arsenal are interested in the likes of Huntelaar and Ba. Huntelaar personally is an average striker at best and will be found out if we sign him. His goal scoring form although admirable should be credited to the rest of his team mates. They have to carry him as he does nothing throughout a match before netting one here or there. That’s good enough for a team that wants top 4 but not for a team that wants to contend for the title. Ba on the other hand just doesn’t really excite me. Nothing about him makes me feel “he’s a brilliant player and I’d love him at Arsenal”.

How Schalke slump could affect Arsenal 42

Posted on December 19, 2012 by Bob

There is no chance of Arsenal meeting the German side Schalke in the next round of the Champions league, the draw for which is made tomorrow, as they were in the same group stage. The team from Gelsenkirchen could still have an effect on the rest of the season for the Gunners, however.

Despite topping their European group, the manager of Schalke, Huub Stevens, has been sacked from his job and replaced him with Jens Keller. Keller had been in charge of the under-17s but has been moved up, Stevens got the chop after six league games without a win left his side seventh in the Bundesliga.

Arsenal for Llorente if Huntelaar transfer fails? 56

Posted on December 14, 2012 by Bob

It is being reported today that Arsenal are no longer favourites to land the Dutch international striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, from Schalke when the transfer window opens in January. The 29-year old has apparently heard about interest from the Serie A club Inter Milan, and would love another chance to prove himself in Italy, according to his agent Arnold Oosterveer.

There is also the possibility that Schalke may decide to keep Huntelaar for the remainder of the season and try to ensure qualification for the champions league this season, while going as far as they can in it this season. One striker who is available and would love to come to the Premier league is Fernando Llorente of Athletic Bilbao.

Huntelaar will NOT be joining Arsenal in January 46

Posted on December 12, 2012 by Bob

Arsenal fans can stop getting excited about the Dutch international striker, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, coming to the rescue in January, according to the general manager of his current club Schalke 04. The German team have failed to persuade the striker to sign a new deal and his contract finishes next summer. Despite that, Horst Heldt insists that there is no way the 29-year old will be heading to the Emirates at the start of next year.

“(Huntelaar leaving) is just a rumour and a fairytale. There is no truth to the rumours linking him to Arsenal.”

Arsenal Target Demba Ba WILL be sold by Newcastle 40

Posted on December 11, 2012 by Bob

It looks like Arsenal will have a choice of two strikers to buy in January, as Newcastle United are resigned to selling their 27-year old Senegalese striker Demba Ba when the January transfer window opens. The North East club and their owner, Mike Ashley, have failed to agree terms with Ba over a new contract, so are ready to move him on as soon as possible so they can get a replacement settled in.

Alan Pardew has had to live with the threat of another club exercising the release clause in Ba’s contract of £7.5 million, and have offered the striker a new deal worth around £70,000 per week, according to the Mirror. His agent is demanding £80,000 and the Magpies will not go that far, so it seems to be just a question of where, not if, he will go.

Arsenal to get Huntelaar for just £4million in January? 67

Posted on December 10, 2012 by Bob

If the reports about Arsenal and the acquistion of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Schalke for only around £4 million when the transfer window opens in January are true, it will be the bargain of the season, comparable to Swansea getting Michu in the summer for around £2 million. The Spaniard was not that well known outside of Spain, but Huntelaar is an experienced international with 59 caps to his name, so it would be even more remarkable.

Is Huntelaar a done deal for Arsenal? 71

Posted on December 09, 2012 by admin

There have been oodles of Arsenal transfer rumours linking strikers for a move to Emirates in January, and according to the French Sports paper L’Equipe it will be Schalke’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who will be moving to the Emirates for a fee of around 5 million euros, which is a bargain in anyone’s eyes!

The prolific Dutchman has been in tremendous form for Schalke scoring a massive 58 goals in his last 68 games in the Bundseliga, and he is probably the best replacement for Robin Van Persie available at such a good price since refusing to sign a contract extension with Schalke.
