More Goalkeeper Transfer News – By JG
New transfer news from Ligue 1 is out and it has been revealed that Olympique Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is ready to sell goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. They have admitted that Liverpool, Arsenal and Spuds have expressed interest / made enquiries. This transfer was bound to happen considering Lyon’s position in Ligue 1 at the end of last season.
I highly doubt Lloris would have any interest in joining Spuds or Liverpool, but sadly enough that depends on how much money he is offered. Surely he would prefer Champions League football right? If so, Arsenal would be the choice; but would Arsenal let Szczesny drop to 2nd choice keeper if they signed Lloris? If they did, would that be fair to Szczesny? .......Read the full article here

The Rennes defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila has been the subject of many Arsenal rumours this summer, with many pundits certain that M’Vila will be Arsenal’s third signing of the transfer window after Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
But up until now the French international has refused to discuss the fact that he could be on his way to the Emirates, despite reports saying that the move is already done and dusted.
“I have heard Arsenal are interested in me. I like Arsenal and I like the Premier League.” M’Vila declared yesterday.
“I don’t know what is happening with the clubs, but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal.” .......Read the full article here

With the news coming out of Arsenal that Manuel Almunia’s has been released at the end of his contract, and also Fabianski has made it clear that he also wants to leave, it seems that the Gunners are now clearly in the market for a suitable backup for Wojciech Szczesny next season.
Now it has been revealed that Arsenal has got his eye on a move for the Norwegian stopper Kenneth Udjus, who plays for Norwegian club Sogndal.
The 29 year-old, who has never played outside Norway, or even been considered for his country, is aware that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on him, but didn’t want to go into details. .......Read the full article here

Aleksandr Dragovic – Could Arsene Wenger bring him to Arsenal? by JS
It will not be until the summer transfer window opens but, in an interview, the Austrian international claims that Arsenal are one of seven sides in the hunt for his services.
“There are seven teams interested, two of which are from Russia,” confirmed the Austrian international, who then laid out his demands for any interested party: “If a club wants me, they’ll have to put a bit of money on the table,” said the impertinent Austrian, adding: “The club must at least be represented in the Europa League. For with Basel I have the chance to play in the Champions League.” .......Read the full article here

New Dutch sensation Kevin Strootman is due to become the next big thing in Football, and according to today’s TalkSport, the 22-year-old midfielder has attracted the interest of the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
The PSV star has managed to make his breakthrough to the senior Netherlands national team last year causing City’s Nigel De Jong to become not much more than a benchwarmer, and he’s managed to gather 10 appearances for the Dutch squad already and also score his first goal. His debut for the national team coincided with his move from Utrecht to PSV, where he fast became one of the most important players. .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has unusually admitted that he is interested in the Moroccan international midfielder Younes Belhanda, who is currently playing in Ligue 1 with Montpellier.
The 22 year-old still has two years left on his contract at Montpellier and is rated at around 15 million so would be a much cheaper alternative to Mario Gotze or Eden Hazard, but Wenger doesn’t want to upset his current club.
He said: “I know Younes well and like him a lot.
“But I don’t want to cause problems. Only Montpellier can decide where he goes to.” .......Read the full article here

Most Arsenal fans (especially me!) were gobsmacked when the young Belgian Eden Hazard talked about the possibility of joining the Gunners great rivals Tottenham Hotspur this week.
It was thought that Hazard was just putting other clubs on alert by saying he would join Spurs, but today his father has actually confirmed that his Spurs ARE interested in buying his son, although he emphasised that no official offer had yet been received.
Thierry Hazard said: “For now I can only say what Eden said on Monday on TV: Yes, there is interest from Spurs, and no, there’s no offer. .......Read the full article here

Italian giants Inter Milan have been linked with an Arsenal regular who has improved every season and who looks to be on the form of their life. The name Robin Van Persie certainly springs to mind, but it now seems that it’s the turn of Alex Song to be noticed for his efforts.
According to the Metro, reports from Italy suggest that Inter manager Claudio Ranieri is an admirer of the Cameroon international and wants to add his kind of power to the midfield. Such appreciation is thoroughly deserved for a player whose noticeable progression from a solely defensive unit to an all-round midfield dynamo really has been quite remarkable. He has amassed attacking principles and introduced them into his game but, while other players might simply accept a change in position, Song has merged both spectrums of styles to create a unique brand of footballer that probably can’t be compared to many others. .......Read the full article here

Yesterday we brought you the news that Arsenal scouts have been keeping a close eye on Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour. Well today the player himself has backed up those rumours.
Speaking to the Tunisian website Footplus about Arsenal Abdennour said, “It’s true, I’ve heard a lot of talk while I’ve been at Toulouse. They come to watch and scout players. They came to see our last three matches in which I put forward excellent performances for my side.”
So for once the rumours appear to be true, though whether or not we sign Aymen Abdennour remains to be seen, though it does look like we might at this stage, and we don’t need a big win at the casino to pay for him! .......Read the full article here

During the summer Arsenal were linked with almost everyone and anyone it seems, and one of those links led to a formal bid for Frenchman Yoann Gourcuff. The bid was denied by Gourcuff’s club Lyon, but Gourcuff was flattered by the interest from Arsenal.
Speaking to Sky Sports Gourcuff said, “I am flattered by the interest shown by Arsene Wenger. He is one of the top coaches in the world, he loves technical players so I am very, very happy to know that he was interested in me.”
