Wayne Bridge’s surprise withdrawal from the England squad has left a big hole at left-back for the World Cup, especially as the disgraced Ashley Cole has already succumbed to injury.
So who will be picked to play alongside the (also disgraced!) John Terry in the final choice? At the moment it seems to rest on who will be available, and according to Arsene Wenger, the young Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs could recover from his broken metatarsal in time to be considered by Fabio Capello.

The young Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs was hopeful of getting a long run in the team when Gael Clichy got injured, but he was immediately struck down with a broken metatarsal in the Champions League game against Standard Liege.
It was first thought that he would miss a couple of months, which would still have given him time to try and persuade Fabio Capello to take him to the World Cup next summer, but it has now been revealed that he needs immediate surgery, and will not play again this season. Read the full article here

The young Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs has broken into the Arsenal first-team and looks like he will quickly be promoted to be a full England international in the near future, hopefully in time for the World Cup.
Fabio Capello hasn’t included him in the squad to face Brazil this weekend, but purely because the U21 team have a qualifier for the U21 European Championship on the same day at Wembley.
“He’s a really good player” said Capello. “And really interesting for the future of the England team, but he’s young and now he has to play a really important game for the Under-21s against Portugal.” Read the full article here

Kieran Gibbs - A future England star?
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is certain that Kieran Gibbs is going to progress to play for England in the future, and, thanks to an injury to Gael Clichy picked up while playing for France, he will start by playing against Birmingham at the Emirates tomorrow.
“It is a big season for Kieran. I believe he has the quality to be the England left-back, and have said that for a long time,” said Wenger.

The Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs is currently dating the ex-lap dancer Amie Buck from Gateshead, who has just made it through to the X-Factor Boot Camp, and previously appeared in the Finals of Miss Newcastle
Amie doesn’t seem to be a very shy girl, although it seems that Cheryl Cole had to help calm her nerves at the X-Factor audition, but she has admitted that her time as a lap-dancer gave her the confidence to get up on the stage and strut her stuff in front of the X-Factor judges..
