The Daily Mirror has announced this morning that the Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has confirmed that he is moving to Arsenal in the summer, and he will be facing “the biggest challenge of his career”.
The Morrocan striker refused to go into details as he says he prefers to concentrate on trying to win the Champions League trophy with Bordeaux. The Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has been angling for a move to the Emirates ever since Arsene Wenger made an unsuccessful bid for him last summer, and now, as he approaches the end of his contract, he again has admitted his choice is to join Arsenal.
Chamakh told L’Equipe today: “My future? Well, I hold all the cards, I have no reason to be under pressure but everyday passing by, I am a little less a Bordeaux player, my choice is to join Premier League and if I could choose, I will go to Arsenal. There is not quite so much Arsenal transfer news in the papers today after the flurry of activity recently (Two signings! Wow!) but there is news about another possible wonderkid on the horizon,
Having bought the Bolivian lad Samuel Galindo, it seems that Arsenal will now have to park him somewhere while they work on getting him a work permit for the Premiership. The Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has alredy stated that he is definitely in the market for a striker this month, but his long-time target Marouane Chamakh is definitely not an imminent arrival. According to today’s Arsenal transfer news in the Mirror, the Morrocan striker may not come this month but is still a certainty to arrive at the Emirates for free next summer.
Wenger said yesterday: “Chamakh is in the Champions League with Bordeaux and at the top of their league, so he will not move now,”

The long time Arsenal target Marouane Chamakh was expected to be sold by Bordeaux in January so that the club could get a transfer fee for the Moroccan striker, but he has now said that he is definitely going to stay in France until the summer.
