Should Arsenal try to keep Sagna? 107

Is Sagna’s time up at Arsenal? by AH

Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna has spent the majority of his career with the Gunners, after signing from Ligue 1 side Auxerre back in 2007. In those 6 years Sagna has managed to make 175 league appearances, scoring just 3 goals. In his first years he competed with Emmanuel Eboue to nail down the Right Back position, however it was quickly seen who the better player was and Sagna soon managed to make a stance and become Arsenal’s regular Right Back. Since then he has never really managed to lose his place, mainly due to the lack of competition, however with Jenkinson now seemingly hot on his tail, could this be the French international’s last season with Arsenal?

Arsenal could tempt Nani from Man United this summer! 43

Arsenal are ready to do some squad improvement, with Arsene Wenger set to have £70 million burning a hole in the pockets of his giant coat.  There is room for improvement all over the pitch, so it will be interesting to see what Wenger thinks are the priorities. It sounds a lot, but £70 million does not buy many quality players these days, and there is no point buying squad players because we have plenty. One player who could add quality and extra options to the Arsenal team and who would not cost a bomb is the Portuguese international winger Luis Nani from Manchester United.

Arsenal may forget Nani if Man United mess about 104

Arsenal are interested in the Portuguese winger Nani who has fallen out of favour with the Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson. United have realised that Arsenal are looking at the winger, however, and are suddenly talking about how valuable he is and how reluctant they are to let him go.

Arsene Wenger is no fool, though, as we know, and if Ferguson really thinks he can push us for more money then he is going to be sorely disappointed. The only reason that Wenger is interested in Nanni in the first place is that he is cheap. Whether that is because his talents are on the wane is a subject of conjecture, but it does mean that signing him is a risky business.

Wenger and Ferguson say “No No No!” over Nani move to Arsenal 49

Posted on December 30, 2012 by admin

There have been many recent Arsenal transfer rumours suggesting that Arsene Wenger was going to target the unsettled Man United winger Nani as a replacement for Theo Walcott (if he moves into the centre or leaves), but it looks like Arsenal fans can now cross that possibility off their lists.

Ferguson himself expressed the view that Nani still has over a year on his contract despite the Portugese internation currently recovering from a hamstring injury. “Nani’s contract isn’t up until the end of next season – and we need him,”

“He offers something different from the other players we have. He’s got an incredible talent, but, unfortunately, he’s been injured.

Arsenal MUST NOT sell Walcott to Man United 61

If Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board learnt anything at all from last night’s humiliating exit from the Capital One cup at the hands of Bradford City, I hope it is the fact that we need to keep hold of Theo Walcott. Even more important is that we do not sell him to Manchester United, as a report in the Mail today suggests might happen. If we do, we might as well change our name to Manchester United B.

Would Arsenal really take this Man United reject? 58

Could we really buy Nani? – By SB

Is it time we have to resort to a Man Utd outcast to save our sinking season? Is Nani the answer for Arsenal? Granted he has his “off” days, but he could be the spark Arsenal needs (along with a few more additions) to resurrect our season. If the “out of touch” board have any decency left, they will grant Arsene Wenger a large sum of money to strengthen the depthless Gunners.

Man United want to hijack Arsenal transfer of Zaha! 57

Posted on December 09, 2012 by Bob

Wilfried Zaha is an Arsenal fan and was soon going to be an Arsenal player if newspaper reports are true. The Crystal Palace manager, Ian Holloway, complained again this week about Arsene Wenger. Holloway is upset about what he percieves as Wenger’s attempts to destabilise the young winger, even though Wenger has done nothing but answer a question posed by a journalist.

Palace have issued denials that Zaha will leave, but they have sounded increasingly desperate, suggesting that they knew they were going to lose the England international. Now it seems that Alex Ferguson has stuck his oar in and will offer Palace the opportunity to keep Zaha for the season if they agree to sell him to United.

Yennaris pleased with his performance against Man Utd’s Nani 23

Posted on January 27, 2012 by admin

The Arsenal youngster Nicolas Yennaris was thrown in at the deep end on his League debut for the Gunners when he replaced Johann Djourou against Man United last weekend.

He was tasked with keeping Nani at bay, and he certainly did a better job that Djourou. Although Arsenal lost, Yennaris was more than happy with his contribution to the game.

“My main focus was to just keep Nani quiet and get him down the line away from goal, and I thought I did alright,” he said.
