Olympiacos v Arsenal NextGen Series by TS
Olympiacos scored two late goals to sink Arsenal in Group Six of the NextGen series at Karaiskakis Stadium last night. The two sides both looked impressive moving forward and were eager to attack. However, Olympiacos broke the deadlock in the 83nd minute when Rafail Soukias fired in the opening goal and Arsenal’s problems were compounded 8 minutes later when full back Hector Bellerin was sent off after preventing a goal scoring opportunity. The Greeks then scored a deflected goal from the resulting free kick by Leandro Climaco Pinto in the dying minutes to end the match 2-O, although the result hardly reflected the even nature of the game. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal to take on Olympiacos in the NextGen series tonight by AM
Arsenal’s youngsters have travelled to Greece to take on Olympiacos in their next group game of the NextGen series. This the second group match this season for the Gunners after they Marseille in the opening round.
The Gunners cruised to a 3-0 victory over the French club in their first match this season. Chuba Akpom was the star of that match as he contributed with two goals and an assist. Arsenal are currently 2nd in the group based on goal difference. Atletico Madrid, who thrashed Olympiacos 4-0 in their opening match, lead the group. .......Read the full article here
The Arsenal U19 team got off to a blistering start to their NextGen European campaign by destroying Marseilles 3-0 at home, and the captain for that game Nico Yennaris, is looking forward to carrying on the form in tonight’s intimidating atmosphere at the home of Olympiacos in Greece.
Yennaris was lucky enough to be on the bench when the Gunners first team played at this stadium last season in the Champions League Group Stages, and he is really looking forward to a successful return. Arsenal Announce NextGen Squad by AH
Arsenal have announced their 32 man squad, that will take place in this season’s NextGen Competition, which is the new Europe-wide competition for Under 19′s, which by rights Arsenal should do very well in considering the wealth of young talent at our disposal!
