Emmanuel Frimpong joined Arsenal when he was nine years old, at around the same time as Jack Wilshere, but his progress into the first team for the Gunners has not been as easy as Wilshere’s. Arsene Wenger rates the 20-year old very highly, though, and believes he will star for us in the future.
Wenger and Frimpong decided that he needs to play regularly, that is why the midfielder has gone on loan to Championship side Charlton until the end of the year. Frimpong made his debut for Chris Powell’s side on Saturday for the visit of Huddersfield, and impressed his new manager during his 66 minutes on the pitch. .......Read the full article here

There are some interesting stories going around at the moment that Arsene Wenger has found himself yet another bargain, and is arranging for the 19 year-old Charlton defender Carl Jenkinson to join Arsenal for free this summer. Although if its true there would be the usual compensaion for Charlton because of his age.
Jenkinson is an English right-back, but surprisingly has appeared for the Finland U19 team because of his mother! He had broken into the Charlton first team this year, and the Addicks tried very hard to get him to sign a contract extension, but to no avail. .......Read the full article here

There is lots of Arsenal transfer news about this morning, and two of them are about Arsenal trying to nick players from their greatest local rivals, Tottenham and Chelsea.
According to the London Metro, the reason that Luka Modric was given a new six-year contract at White Hart Lane was because Arsene Wenger had made an approach to take the Croatian playmaker to Arsenal.
They quoted an “Arsenal source” as saying: “The boss has been searching for a player capable of pulling the strings in midfield and Modric ticks all the boxes,”
“At 24, he’s the right age for a Wenger signing although he would have cost the club a lot of money after his excellent season in 2009/10. .......Read the full article here
