Thierry Henry has been playing fourth fiddle for most of this season at Barcelona, which is no surprise considering they have Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahamovich and Bojan Krkic in the team, but no longer!
The ex-Golden Boot winner will turn 33 in August, but he has no intention of hanging up his boots just yet. He is now set to take over the ambassadorial duties, from David Beckham, for the MLS when the World Cup finishes in July. It has been confirmed that Henry has signed a contract with the New York Red Bulls on a playing and promotional contract, which will see him playing alongside the ex-Aston Villa star Juan Pablo Angel. There is not much good news in the papers this morning regarding Arsenal players and targets, and the first story has only confirmed my worst fears.
While Arsene Wenger has been getting all the youngsters in his squad to sign extended contracts this season, the talented Spanish midfielder Fran Merida has resisted all the offers put on the table by Arsenal, which means he is now legally allowed to talk to other clubs.
There was a furore earlier in the season, when Arsene Wenger accused Atletico Madrid of tapping up Merida, and according to this mornings Spanish paper AS, Merida has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Spanish giants, and will be joining them on a Bosman next summer. .......Read the full article here
