Could this season be last chance for Campbell and Arsenal? 60

Posted on May 20, 2013 by Bob

Arsenal are in the process of making a decision on whether to allow Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell to stay on loan at Spanish side Real Betis for another season. The striker said himself that he is happy to stay in Spain for another season to prove himself to Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal and Betis fans.

If a deal cannot be done with Real Betis for some reason, Arsenal will look for another European club to send him to for the season. Campbell cannot play in England yet as he was unable to obtain a work permit and must be sent to other places in Europe. It is unfortunate that Arsenal have to send young, talented players out on loan in foreign countries because they have a difficult time adapting to the Premier League when they get their chance to shine for their parent club.

Arsenal to sign Casillas from Real Madrid? 103

Posted on April 07, 2013 by Bob

If Arsenal are looking for a goalkeeper with lots of experience at the top level, they would have to look a lot further than the stopper of Spain and Real Madrid, Iker Casillas. The 31-year old made his full international debut aged 19 and has gone on to become the most capped player ever for the Spanish national side, with 143.

Casillas has set all sorts of records with Real Madrid, playing 654 times for the club, winning five Primera Liga titles and two European cups along the way. He is a revered hero among fans of Madrid and he is the club captain, so the report in the Daily Star linking him with a summer transfer to Arsenal seems ridiculous on the face of it.

Arsenal’s Joel Campbell set to remain in Spain? by AH

Joel Campbell might not be the player on all the fans minds right now and a large amount of Arsenal fans probably won’t even recognise the name, however much to your surprise he is one of the best strikers at Arsenal at the moment. The Costa Rican striker cannot currently play in England because of work permit issues and so Campbell has been working wonders for Spanish club Real Betis this season and has helped them drive into 7th place in La Liga. European football is a possibility for Betis next season and today Campbell has spoken out about the possibility of him remaining in Spain.

Arsenal watching Falcao and Benzema 91

Any team in the world, including Arsenal, would love to have the Colombian hit man Radamel Falcao in the team. He single handedly kept Athletico Madrid level on points with Barcelona at the top of the Spanish La Liga table last night.

Madrid were away at Real Sociedad and had hardly a sniff at goal until they won a free kick right at the end of the game. Up stepped Falcao and struck a sublime shot into the top corner. Let’s get real though, even if we have the money, Arsenal are not going to spend £50 million on one player.

Carlos Vela – I was never happy at Arsenal 47

Posted on February 10, 2012 by admin

The little Mexican wizard Carlos Vela is very happy to be on loan at Real Sociedad in Spain, and it was revealed this week that he is set to ask Arsene Wenger to allow him to stay away from the Emirates and continue playing for the La Liga minnows.

Now today he has explained his decision, and his feeling that he never really felt like he belonged at Arsenal. He said: “I would stay at Real,”

“I am happy and the people support me. I owe Arsenal affection and gratitude for the opportunity that they gave me, but I was not happy there and this affected my work.

How does one define a “real” Arsenal fan? 69

Posted on August 26, 2010 by admin

I received an email this afternoon which has been playing on my mind ever since, especially as it ended with “thanks for your instant reply!”.

The reason I can’t put it out of mind is the writer (Who shall be known as Joshua, simply because that is his name!) asked me a question that I could not possibly answer in a three-line email, and I hardly have time to go further in depth with so many other pressing commitments.

Anyway here is what he said exactly: “My name is Joshua reaching you from Nigeria, a fan and lover of Arsenal FC. I want to ask How can i become real fan of the club? I dont want to shout Goal! alone..
