Arsenal will not be signing Henry again says Wenger 20

Posted on January 02, 2013 by Bob

Arsene Wenger has put an end to the speculation over a possible third spell at Arsenal for the 35-year old French striker Thierry Henry. The former Gunner and goal machine has been training with the Arsenal players during the off season from his club, New York Red Bulls, in the American MLS.

The Arsenal manager had kept the possibility open, but had suggested that a another loan move at the Emirates might be one time too many for Henry. He did well for us last year, scoring the winning goal in two matches, but Wenger would not want him to struggle. When asked specifically whether there was still a chance he might play for Arsenal again, Wenger gave the simple reply, “No.”

Thierry Henry coming back to Arsenal BUT for How Long? 45

Thierry Henry is set to have an amazing third stint as an Arsenal player after the Gunners concluded an agreement with the French striker’s club New York Red Bulls. The MLS team will not start playing football again until March, and Henry will be an Arsenal player from January 1st for an initial six week period.

That period could be extended, and the Sun reports that it could even last for the whole of the Premier league season. Henry has already trained with the Arsenal squad, and his fitness and sharpness are greatly improved from his loan spell last season, so Wenger feels he could have more of an impact in the Premier league. His winning mentality, experience and love of Arsenal could also be a massive boost to the other players.

Arsenal DO want Henry on loan but Red Bulls not Keen! 13

Arsene Wenger was speaking about potential signings in January to strengthen the Arsenal squad, but his words about the former striker Thierry Henry make it abundantly clear that he would jump at the chance of getting the star striker back on loan as we did last season. The only problem Wenger has is to persuade a reluctant New York Red Bulls to allow their best player to spend his rest time playing for the Gunners.

“Henry is the talent that you dream to have. He has fantastic physique, fantastic technique, a fantastic brain, all built together in one man. At the start he was not confident enough but he has gone on to show what a great player he is.

There is absolutely no doubt that Arsenal and Thierry Henry have a thing for each other. We love the former player and he cannot seem to stay away from the Emirates, he was in the stands on Saturday with Sol Campbell to watch Arsenal demolish Tottenham, and he is now training with the Arsenal squad during the break in football in the American MLS.

His team, the New York Red Bulls, have not made it to the final play-off in the MLS format, despite Henry hitting 15 goals in 25 games for them. At 35-years old, the Frenchman is still a great player and is still scoring stunning goals (see video), so Arsene Wenger will not rule out a third spell at the club for our all-time record goalscorer.

The Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has certainly made an immediate impact on the American MLS and he has finally bagged his first goal for the New York Red Bulls.

The Red Bulls were dire last season and hadn’t won an away game in two full seasons before this one, but the arrival of Henry, and Rafael Marquez, this summer has seen them flying in second place in the Eastern Conference. They are looking certainties for the play-offs and have been improving rapidly lately, winning three of their last four games.

They totally dominated the San Jose Earthquakes yesterday, despite only winning by a 2-0 scoreline. Henry thinks that will be even more to come: “We can get way better,” Henry said.

It has been revealed today that the Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been negotiating a deal that would take him to play in the MLS next season with the New York Red Bulls. He could even join up with his new team-mates immediately after the World Cup this summer.

It seems that he flew to America for talks in January, and is keen to continue his career on the other side of the Atlantic. If all goes to plan he will be playing alongside the ex-Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel, who went on record as saying that Henry would be a fantastic addition to the MLS as a whole, and not just the Red Bulls.
