Walcott on his way out?
It is being reported by the Times and the Telegraph tonight that Theo has rejected a contract extension. This deal was a very lucrative one for Walcott meaning that this is a worrying situation indeed.
The likes of Manchester City and Liverpool are interested in the English winger. Scott Sinclair was supposed to move to Man City but the move stalled because of the paltry transfer fee (believed to be in the regions of £6 million). Now they intend to push a move for Theo whom they’d be willing to pay up to £15 million for his services. Liverpool on the other hand are interested but really have no chance of signing Walcott. Not only can they not afford his wages, why would he make such a massive step down? The club is sinking at the moment and it wouldn’t make sense for Theo to move to them. The Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, who was thought to be a certain summer departure, has snubbed the possibility of him leaving Arsenal saying that he still wants to become a better player and that making a step back to the French Ligue 1 would also mean a step back in his career.
According to the striker, he already spoke with Wenger about the possibility of a stay, and he’s going to remain with the Gunners rejecting a possible summer move to Bordeaux.
