Will Arsenal lose Capoue to Chelsea? 58

Posted on January 11, 2013 by Bob

Arsenal are in danger of watching as all of the potential signings get snapped up by other Premier league clubs. I don’t understand what we are waiting for. Maybe Arsene Wenger does not want to get his pants pulled down over transfer fees, but Arsenal need some players and we don’t want to be left to pick over the players that other teams have left.

There have been reports linking the Gunners with a number of defensive midfield players to give the team a stronger backbone, and link the play between defence and attack better. With Diaby always one game away from a long lay off, too much pressure has been put on to the shoulders of Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard has done well in a role which is not his best, but we need an enforcer.

Should Arsenal take a risk on M’Vila? 124

Posted on January 10, 2013 by Bob

Arsene Wenger has been watching Yann M’Vila for a long time, but has never decided to bring him to Arsenal before. Reports from the French midfielder and his club, Rennes, indicate that he will probably be moving in this transfer window, so it is a case of now or never for Wenger to recruit him as a Gunner, but is he worth the risk?

There have been a number of reasons that Wenger has not made the plunge for M’Vila before, not least of those being the price tag. In the summer, before Euro 2012, M’Vila was one of the most sought after young players in Europe. Rennes were then demanding nearly £20 million for him, because they thought that he would shine for France at the tournament and his price may even have risen. As we know, that backfired spectacularly which is why he could now be signed for less than half that amount.

M’Vila price dropped to £8 million but Arsenal say NO 173

Maybe Arsenal need to employ the man from Del Monte when it comes to transfer dealings, because Arsene Wenger does not seem to want anyone. Demba Ba was too much like Olivier Giroud, apparently, and now he has turned down a cut price deal for the talented French midfield enforcer Yann M’Vila. Wenger is fluent in many languages, but he does not seem to know the words yes please in any of them.

Will Arsenal finally sign M’Vila? 67

Posted on January 03, 2013 by Bob

There are reports that the 22-year old French international Yann M’Vila may finally be making the move to the Premier league that has long been expected. The defensive midfielder was thought to be on his way to the Emirates last summer, but stories about his discipline problems off the field, compounded by his falling out with the France manager Laurent Blanc at Euro 2012 caused Arsene Wenger to have second thoughts.

Along with those doubts, the return to fitness of Abou Diaby meant that Wenger did not see the young Rennes player as a risk worth taking. We now know that Diaby has an underlying problem that leads to his injuries. He will probably not be able to play more than one game a week, and even that might be too much for the Frenchman.

Arsenal transfer rumours-Essien and M’Vila 100

Posted on August 31, 2012 by Bob

Reports are now suggesting that Arsenal are trying to broker a loan deal for Chelsea’s 29-year old midfielder Michael Essien, while Rennes now expect Yann M’Vila to still be at the club for the foreseeable future.

The Rennes chairman said last week that there were bids from two Premier league clubs and from Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia. Apparently, pny Zenit’s bid was acceptable to the French club, but the player rejected that move. Tottenham were thought to have bid around £12 million and refused to go higher, then stated that they were looking elsewhere.

Rennes still waiting for M’Vila bid from Arsenal or Spurs 73

The France and Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila has been variously linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham ever since the transfer window opened, and it was thought that Spurs had jumped in after finally completing the sale of Luka Modric to Real Madrid, but according to the Rennes manager Frederic Antonetti there is still no concrete bids on the table.

“We have had some contact but nothing more than that. The more time goes on the more we can think he will stay.” Antonetti said yesterday. “Now, as I have been saying for some time, we know Yann could still go in the final week of the transfer window.”

M’Vila can’t replace Song – and Arsenal don’t need him! 73

Why Arsenal Do Not Need Yann M’Vila by Adnan

Yann M’Vila – a French lad who we seem to have been linked with since the beginning of time. The youngster has been labeled the new Patrick Viera due to the fact they both play in the defensive midfield role, they are both French and not much else! Put his attitude problem aside he has got everything going for him. He’s only 21 and has got international caps for France under his belt and is undoubtedly talented. However the fact of the matter is that we do not need him.

Arsene Wenger : We are still in the market (but not for a DM)… So no M’Vila? 98

Posted on August 27, 2012 by admin

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Arsenal are still “in the market” to try and add “quality players” to the squad, but he made it quite clear (unless he was being economical with the truth) that he is NOT looking for any defensive midfielders, which would seem to rule out any bid for Yann M’Vila.

“I’m pleased with what I have but yes, I anticipate doing something still, we’re still in the market,” Wenger told Sky Sports. “Defensive midfielders we have. I don’t know yet, it depends on the quality of players that are available, it’s not necessity. If we find someone who can strengthen our squad with the quality that we want we’ll do it in any position.”

Tottenham to sign M’Vila? 85

Posted on August 27, 2012 by Bob

After finally agreeing to sell Croatian midfielder Luka Modric to Real Madrid today, Spurs have launched a bid to sign Yann M’Vila from Rennes. The 22-year old defensive midfielder was thought to be right at the top of Arsene Wenger’s wish list at the start of the summer, but nothing has been heard for a while from the Arsenal camp.

The French international was believed to be holding out for a move to the Emirates because of Wenger and champion’s league football, but with the window about to close, he may have to accept that the Gunners are not coming for him. BBC journalist David Ornstein reports that another Premier league club have officially shown interest but that the club is NOT Arsenal.

Do Arsenal actually want M’Vila? 51

Yann M’Vila: Join the dots: by SV

There has already been plenty said about Mr. Sahin. He looked as if he was about to sign for Liverpool, then we hijacked the deal. Then he looked as if he had already signed for us, and now there are reports that Liverpool have come in and hijacked OUR deal. WTF? So I have decided that, for the moment, I’m going to focus on something else; namely, the deal involving Yann M’Vila. A no less confusing saga, mark you, but at least it’s different to that mind boggling Sahin deal.

Arsenal transfer update: Sahin and M’Vila still in transit…… 60

Wenger is still after M’Vila and Sahin is not here yet! by KJ

The news last night was that three clubs were interested in Yann M’Vila. Those 3 clubs are Tottenham, Arsenal and Spartak Moscow. This came directly from the Rennes Chairman’s mouth on RMC Sport in France. He confirmed last weekend that M’Vila had played his last game for Rennes so he must be pushing for a move. In his interview, he essentially said that Wenger was in the driving seat for this transfer and acknowledged that Wenger would be after Rennes star man by hinting at the Song transfer saga.

Arsenal are close to £15.7m M’Vila transfer 80

Arsene Wenger might be able to announce two new Arsenal players this week. The general manager of Yann M’Vila’s current club Rennes, Pierre Dreossi, has dropped a massive hint that he expects M’Vila to become a Gunner by the end of the week.

“Arsenal? Maybe, you’ll have to call Arsene. But when Song leaves, we must say that Arsenal will reinforce that post.”

In his interview with French radio station RMC, Dreossi claimed that three clubs were vying for the services of the French international. Arsenal, Tottenham and Zenit St. Petersburg are the clubs, according to Goal, com. There have been reports that M’Vila does not want to go to a club who are not in the Champion’s league and he has already stated his desire to play in the Premier league.
