With the news that Alex Song is off to Barcelona for a medical tomorrow, then surely this means that the long awaited arrival of Yann M’Vila must now be announced official.
At the beginning of the transfer window it was an open secret that the deal was certain to happen, but suddenly the rumour-mill went dead and we haven’t heard anything until this last week, when the Rennes chairman Frederic de Saint-Serni, said: ‘He has a concrete offer from England.”
This was believed to have been from Tottenham, but today the new Spurs boss Andres Villas-Boas has cast doubt that there is any chance of M’Vila going to White Hart Lane. He said: : “He is an interesting player, but I don’t think he will join Tottenham. He is a rather defensive player. .......Read the full article here

Are Tottenham in for M’Vila and, if so, how do we feel about that? by SV
There are still many commentators on Twitter that think that Yann M’Vila is absolutely certain to be an Arsenal player next season, but today, there are rumours circulating that Tottenham have launched their own bid to take French midfielder Yann M’Vila to Sh*te Hart Lane. And by the way, I use the term ‘rumour’ very loosely, because as I write this, these are nothing but vague statements from Twitter users (albeit fairly reliable ones. I have heard rumblings of the news in the past, with the Mail and Metro both reporting it. The Metro said the following about a possible move:
“Yann M’Vila has emerged as a transfer target for Spurs, after Arsenal ended their interest in the Rennes midfielder. .......Read the full article here

M’Vila update by AH
According to FranceFootball, French club Stade Rennes have lowered their asking price for Yann M’Vila, due to the lack of interest in the player from other clubs.
Earlier in the window, Rennes were holding out for £25 million, however there was no interest in the player so it was lowered to £20 million, which sparked interest from many clubs across Europe, including Premier League teams Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal, Italian team Inter Milan, German club Bayern Munich and Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. However since then most of the clubs have cooled their interest in the player and some teams have secured other targets and now only Barcelona and Arsenal remain in the hunt for the defensive midfielder. .......Read the full article here

Arséne playing mind games by AH
Yesterday Arséne Wenger came out and spoke about the possible transfer of Rennes’ midfielder Yann M’Vila to Arsenal.
The French defensive midfielder has been linked with a move to The Emirates all summer, but recent reports suggested Arsenal had pulled out, however like I said in yesterday’s Yann M’Vila post, these reports came because Arsenal were not happy with the way Rennes tried to create a bidding war with their comments.
The Rennes president said, “We have not received any concrete offers for Yann M’Vila yet” .......Read the full article here

All the hype last month was that “Yann M’Vila” is already an Arsenal player, but according to the Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi, the French club have even received their first offer yet!
He rightly states that the transfer window has only just opened, and it would seem that he was hoping for a good showing from M’Vila at the Euros to bump his price up (but that never happened of course!), although he is still expecting a good fee for the midfielder.
“He is ready to leave,” Dreossi said. “For now there have been a few signs of interest, but no concrete enough offers for M’Vila to leave. .......Read the full article here

Is Wenger playing mind games over M’Vila? by BA
Reports have been circulating that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has changed his mind about signing Yann M’Vila from Rennes, Supposedly he has been put off by the defensive midfielders attitude and disciplinary issues. I feel there may be an amount of bluffing on the side of Le Proffesseur.
Surely he was well aware about the off-field antics of M’Vila before this summer. The only new thing that has happened is a small spat between team mates and a semi-strop after being substituted. He actually played well during Euro 2012. He has featured strongly for France at all levels, and now appears to have cemented his place in the full national team. .......Read the full article here

M’Vila might not come to Arsenal after all – Or will he? by KJ
So the big news today (well aside from the amazing signing of Olivier Giroud) is that Wenger has gone cold on M’Vila. This was reported by the ever reliable Matt Spiro and I’ll quote the tweet for anyone who doesn’t follow him or doesn’t use Twitter:
“Have heard from two separate, reliable sources that Wenger has ended interest in Yann M’Vila due to player’s behaviour in last few months” .......Read the full article here

Bayern Munich leave Arsenal clear route to M’Vila by BA
French club Rennes are pretty much resigned to losing their midfield star Yann M’Vila this summer. With three years left on his contract, and with Arsenal and Bayern Munich both keen, they were hoping to push up the price to nearly £20 million.
Arsene Wenger will be delighted to hear then, that Bayern Munich have told Rennes that they will not be pursuing the 21-year old France international. His agent has told the press that Bayern are looking for someone with “different abilities.” M’Vila is just the kind of player that Arsenal need, a tough tackling defensive midfielder with speed and power. .......Read the full article here

The Rennes defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila has been the subject of many Arsenal rumours this summer, with many pundits certain that M’Vila will be Arsenal’s third signing of the transfer window after Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
But up until now the French international has refused to discuss the fact that he could be on his way to the Emirates, despite reports saying that the move is already done and dusted.
“I have heard Arsenal are interested in me. I like Arsenal and I like the Premier League.” M’Vila declared yesterday.
“I don’t know what is happening with the clubs, but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal.” .......Read the full article here

The Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, who is rumoured to be on his way to Arsenal as soon as the Euro 2012 tournament is over, is taking longer than expected to recover from a sprain received after just four minutes of a warm-up game.
Arsenal fans were hoping to see him in action in the crucial Group match against England on Monday, but the French team doctor Fabrice Bryand thinks that M’Vila’s extended recovery time is needed to avoid a setback.
“His progress is good but we do not want to aggravate the injury,” Bryand told L’Equipe. “We are not optimistic for the 11th. .......Read the full article here

The massive French football site RMCsport has announced this morning that they have been informed that Rennes have received official offers from TWO major European clubs for Yann M’Vila.
They have not been told the two clubs involved but they are assuming that it is two out of Arsenal, Man United and Inter Milan, who apparently have been the clubs most linked with a move for the French international.
M’Vila himself picked up a strain in the warm-up for the Euros and may not be fit to face England this week, but the player has already said that his transfer away from Rennes will not be affected by any outcome from the big summer competition. .......Read the full article here

Arsenal in recent weeks have become the bookies’ favourites to land hard-tackling Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila this summer, but the French club aren’t yet ready to let their star man go on the cheap, and are testing the Gunners with a £25 million valuation for the 21-year old club academy graduate.
Arsenal have been huge admirers of the starlet, and after a 2 year scouting mission were reportedly ready to wrap up a deal early in the summer transfer window. That move however still hasn’t gone through, with the chances of M’Vila joining compatriots Bacary Sagna, Laurent Koscielny, et al looking more bleak by the day. .......Read the full article here
