Better the devil you know? By DT
It seems sometimes you just can’t win (no pun intended). I’m not talking about a match, but when it comes to what the fans want. Actually, that’s not true …. We the Arsenal fans want it all – Champions League football, and competitiveness in all competitions. World class facilities, and cheap tickets at our matches. Top players, and no debt with a healthy bank balance. Development of the next batch of stars, while putting our best Arsenal team on the pitch right now. A wealthy benefactor, and someone who doesn’t interfere with the manager. We want stability, but fresh blood to invigorate the team. A solid defence, and an attacking minded team. … You get my drift. Often we want two things, that in reality are in opposition to each other. (or at least extremely difficult to achieve successfully). .......Read the full article here

Bergkamp’s return to Arsenal set in stone! by PM
There is no doubt that Dennis Bergkamp is seen by Arsenal supporters as one of our greatest ever heroes along with other legends like Thierry Henry and Tony Adams, and it is great news that the Dutchman is going to be rewarded with a statue of his own at the Emirates this summer.
Bergkamp is currently working at Ajax developing the team’s philosophy with first-team coach Frank de Boer and has been rewarded with their third League title in a row this season, and this set-up is very similar to the Academy at Arsenal that is currently being overseen by Liam Brady. The Irishman is set to retire in the next couple of years and it is being reported that Bergkamp is seen as the perfect replacement to seamlessly slip into his role at the club. .......Read the full article here

Rosicky’s return by KJ
After what is a good start to the season, many Arsenal fans are optimistic with regards to what this season holds for us. This is not even factoring in returning players like : Wilshere, Sagna, Diaby and of course, Rosicky. Many have forgotten about him since the arrival of Cazorla and who can blame them? The Spaniard has been in scintillating form. However, Rosicky still has a massive role at Arsenal. .......Read the full article here

Arsenal are in for Stevan Jovetic? by KJ
In my previous article, I talked about the possibility of getting Polish international, Robert Lewandowski. In that same article, Stevan Jovetic of Fiorentina was also touted to be a possible replacement for Robin Van Persie.
Now this rumour is more likely as he is similar in quite a few regards to the Dutchman. The Montenegrin plays as a centre forward just off the main striker, similar to the position RVP used to play before being moulded into the false no. 9. .......Read the full article here

Was Giroud the replacement for RVP? by KJ
After the horrible news that we learnt of yesterday, I am now curious to know whether Olivier Giroud is the replacement for the soon to be gone Robin Van Persie.
From Robin’s ill-thought letter, it came across that both Wenger and Gazidis knew of RVP’s final decision before he even left for the Euros. As a result, they used that time wisely to ensure that Giroud signed for us. .......Read the full article here

Is Kyle Bartley A Failed Experiment? – By JG
Although Arsenal fans are jubilant over the coming fresh faces who will be gracing the front lines in the Arsenal attack, most feel that the back line also needs more quality. This is a reasonable request considering that most reports are saying that Djourou and Squillaci are leaving Arsenal this summer, and should be attempting to find teams that are more on par with their abilities and that would give them playing time.
So what about Kyle Bartley? .......Read the full article here

It’s hardly going to take the most paranoid conspiracy theorist to put together the two biggest Arsenal stories from yesterday together and making the assumptions that I am going to to here.
For starters yesterday morning we had Peter Hill-Wood loudly proclaiming that Arsenal will not match the riches on offer for Van Persie if he moves to the likes of Man City, which is practically giving the green light for a rich team to make the Dutchman a big offer (a la Nasri). .......Read the full article here

The 19-year-old goalkeeper Jack Butland has been given the honor of joining the English squad which will travel to the EURO 2012, after Norwich’s goalkeeper Ruddy broke his finger and had to be replaced.
Butland has been a long term target for Wenger, and now that the goalkeeper has been called up for the first time and Fabianski is leaving Arsenal, it’s the perfect moment for the switch to occur if the Frenchman’s really interested in his services.
Birmingham’s current manager, Chris Hughton seems to think that Butland has the skills needed to cope at such a high level, and stated: “It’ll be great for his experience and development, I don’t think he would be fazed by it,” .......Read the full article here

It is being reported this morning that the Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge has been pinpointed by Arsenal as the perfect replacement for Robin Van Persie if he is sold to Barcelona this summer.
There have been rumblings for some time that Sturridge is not happy being left out on the wing at Stamford Bridge, despite being Chelsea’s top scorer this season, while the misfiring Fernando Torres keeps his place as the out-and-out striker in the team.
The Mail reports that Arsenal’s influential chief scout Steve Rowley has put the wheels in motion to effect a surprise switch to the Gunners this summer, but if the 22 year-old is to be given the centre-forward role then that means that Arsenal fully expect Robin Van Persie to refuse to sign his contract extension and will be allowed to rejoin Cesc Fabregas at Barcelona. .......Read the full article here

According to TalkSport, the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is seriously considering a move for the Sao Paulo midfielder Carlos Henrique Casemiro and is willing to pay upto £10 million for the young Brazilian hotshot.
The 19-year-old is a typical box-to-box midfielder. His playing style is both versatile and aggressive as he is a tough-tackling midfielder who can also attack. His displays for the Brazilian side have attracted a lot of interest from Europe and the Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan are both said to be keen on taking the teenager to Serie A. .......Read the full article here

Arsène Wenger has conceded that neither Carl Jenkinson nor Kieran Gibbs will have recovered from their stomach and knee strains respectively in time to face Chelsea this weekend.
Whilst the former’s absence is frustrating for Wenger – with Djourou having to replace him – Santos is seen as a ready replacement for Gibbs. However, Vermaelen overcame an injury fright in midweek to declare his availability for the match and with Koscielny and Mertesacker looking like a fearsome duo in the centre, can the Belgian slot in at left-back instead? .......Read the full article here

Whilst Robin Van Persie’s shots continue to bulge nets far and wide, there is always the worry that his injury woes could return, leaving Arsenal with little options up front apart from the ineffective Chamakh. Since the arrival of Park and his subsequent brilliant run of form for his country, though, this issue seemed to look resolved. Finally given another start by Wenger last night, he scored his first goal for the Gunners in stunning style – but is this enough to prove his worth as Arsenal’s alternative centre-forward? .......Read the full article here
