Ramsey set to double his deal with a five year extension! by Ash
On a day that has been full of contract news for Arsenal Football Club, with Per Mertesacker and Tomas Rosicky both agreeing 3 year and 1 year extensions respectively, the tables now turn to Aaron Ramsey who is being mooted as the next Arsenal player to sign on the dotted line. .......Read the full article here
It seems that the Gunners have been working hard behind the scenes to sort out the future of some of the Arsenal squad who are coming to the end of their current contracts. And it appears that the club has been fairly successful as well. However, it is not all good news.
According to the Daily Mail, our long serving French international Bacary Sagna has not been given the deal that he wanted and is set to move on when his contract expires this summer. I am gutted about this, to be honest and think that Arsenal are making a big mistake. .......Read the full article here
Stoke 1 – 0 Arsenal Player Ratings by KJ
Szczesny – 7
Made a couple of decent saves but couldn’t do much for the penalty.
Sagna – 7.5
He was decent today defensively but struggled offensively as he was often left on his own whilst Cazorla was all over the place.
Mertesacker – 6.5
Crouch won the aerial battle with him and bullied him throughout the game. Not the best game from Mertesacker.
Koscielny – 6.5
Wasn’t great today and gave away the penalty. It was definitely harsh but he shouldn’t have given the ref an opportunity to penalise us. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal’s current longest-serving player Bacary Sagna has looked to be set to leave the Emirates this summer as he has not yet agreed to sign a new contract extension. Talks seem to have been going on for the last 18 months and there have been rumours abounding that PSG and (God Forbid!) Man City have been preparing to offer the versatile Frenchman a big-money contract to end his career with them.
But now perhaps the talks are nearing a conclusion, as the right-back’s latest comments would seem to indicate he has no desire to leave Arsenal at all! Sagna said in The Mirror: “I love Arsenal, I love playing for Arsenal, I love my team,” .......Read the full article here
Is Micah Richards an Arsenal target this summer? by Ash
It may be a little way off until the next transfer window, however with rumours circulating Arsenal have started looking at summer suitors already, with Alvaro Morata supposedly being lined up, the story about Micah Richards was one that couldn’t be missed. .......Read the full article here
Jenkinson should be Arsenal’s right back next season! by Ash
As the weeks go by I become more and more adamant that this season will be Bacary Sagna’s last at the Emirates, with the Frenchman increasingly likely to move on for pastures new this summer. Sagna’s contract runs out in the summer and with little signs suggesting that a new deal that he is willing to accept has been made, means that an exit is already being paved in the player’s thoughts. .......Read the full article here
Why Arsenal fans shouldn’t underestimate the value of experience by KJ
Recently, there has numerous reports about certain players getting or not getting a new contract and fans have naturally been reacting. Some believe we must pay whatever is required to keep valuable players at the club whilst others think that we shouldn’t be held ransom and should look to sell certain players and bring in younger ones for the future.
I’m more inclined to side with the people that are happy to pay what is required to keep experienced veteran Arsenal players with us until they require or until it becomes financially impossible. .......Read the full article here
Come on Arsenal, sharpen your pencils, get your act together and this time make it count. One of the longest running contract sagas, complete with `will-he-stay-or-will-he-go` stories and clubs all over Europe being linked, could be finally coming to an end and so we should soon know whether Bacary Sagna will still be a Gunner next year or not.
According to the Daily Mail, the 31-year old French international is set to have a final round of talks with Arsenal about a new contract. And if they don’t go well, that could be that. Arsenal are well aware of what the defender wants, it is just a matter of giving it to him. Simples, no? .......Read the full article here
Just how important is Rosicky to Arsenal? by Ash
As I am sure you will be aware by now, Arsenal have decided to offer experienced player Tomas Rosicky a new contract, which he has decided to accept. The news has been welcomed by Arsenal fans everywhere because, although his importance can be undervalued by some, it is certain that he has true quality.
The details of Rosicky’s new deal have not been publicly disclosed yet and from the majority of sources, the deal only seems to have received a verbal agreement from both parties as of this moment. However because of Rosicky’s age and passion for the club, it is unlikely he will turn around and reject the club now for pastures new. .......Read the full article here
There has been a lot of talk in the past few days about the bumper new contract for Wayne Rooney and it made me think about the situation between Arsenal and Bacary Sagna. The France international is out of contract in the summer and the club have still not agreed his new deal. I think we need to take a leaf out of United’s book and make sure that, like Rooney, Sagna will be staying put. .......Read the full article here
They may sound like a strange comedy duo, but Juan Cuadrado and Zakaria Bakkali could soon be plying their trade on the Emirates pitch if the recent transfer rumours hold any water. And they would both bring pace and wing play to an Arsenal side that has really struggled for it since losing Theo Walcott to injury.
18-year old Bakkali is more of an out-and-out attacking player, usually on the wing but sometimes as a second striker for his current club PSV Eindhoven and various levels of the Belgium national team. According to Metro, PSV have comfirmed strong interest from Arsenal and are expecting a bid for their young star in the summer. The talented forward has scored three league goals this season, all in one game, which makes him the youngest player to get a hat-trick in the Dutch top division. .......Read the full article here
It seems as if the contract talks between Arsenal and Bacary Sagna, not to mention all the rumours and speculation about his future, have been going on forever. With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, it is still not sorted, but it is looking a lot closer.
One of the main stumbling blocks, apparently, has been the club’s reluctance to offer the French international the length of contract he is after because of his age. Sagna turned 31 on Friday, so the three year extension he was looking for would take him up to being 34. Money has been an issue as well, but it seems that Arsenal have seen sense. .......Read the full article here
