If you believe what you read in the papers, Arsenal have already tried to sign Julian Draxler. A January bid from the Gunners was revealed, or claimed by Horst Heldt, the sporting director of the German starlet’s current club Schalke 04.
Herr Heldt has been at it again, according to a Sky Sports report, in which he says that Schalke are very confident about keeping their exciting young player, despite the fact that there is a release clause in Draxler’s current contract, thought to be getting on for £40 million. .......Read the full article here
The widespread belief in the football media is that Arsenal would have had Julian Draxler in the squad now if Arsene Wenger had agreed to pay something close to his release clause value of £37 million, and that the failure to sign the 20-year old sensation in January had left the door open for Bayern Munich to hijack the transfer in the summer.
But Arsenal fans can breathe a little easier after Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, according to The Mirror, insisted that Draxler is not one of their transfer targets this summer. That should hopefully leave the way clear foe Arsenal to sign one of the most exciting young players in the world. .......Read the full article here
As the Premier League season builds to it’s closest run conclusion ever, with Arsenal and three other sides still in with a very realistic chance of becoming the new champions of England, the players should be thinking of nothing but the next game. But behind the scenes at the Emirates, I expect there is a lot of work and preparation going on for what will happen when the season does come to a close. .......Read the full article here
If you asked every Arsenal fan in the world to write down the top five players they are hoping and expecting Arsene Wenger to sign in the summer transfer window, I bet there would not be many who did not have Diego Costa and Julian Draxler on the list.
But there are stories about both of these potential signings in the media today and it is not good news for Arsenal fans. 25-year old Costa has drawn attention from many clubs, with Liverpool reportedly meeting his release clause last summer. But he seems committed to his current side Atletico Madrid and their manager Diego Simeone. .......Read the full article here
I don’t know if you heard anything about it Arsenal fans, but the Gunners were linked with the Schalke and Germany international starlet Julian Draxler. There may have been a couple of small mentions of it in January. According to who you believe, Arsenal did not bid, offered too little or were scuppered by interest from Bayern Munich but one thing we know for sure is that we didn’t get him.
Many people expect Arsene Wenger to try again for the talented youngster in the summer, but I bet the Frenchman is dreading having to deal with Schalke. They never shut up. Wenger likes to keep his transfer dealings as quiet as possible, but the German club’s general manager Horst Heldt seems to be the exact opposite. .......Read the full article here
Although the transfer window has now passed for the season and will not re-open until the summer, by which time Arsenal will have hopefully won the Premier League or if we are lucky even potentially secured a double, one Arsenal transfer target has revealed exactly what seems to be going on with his current situation. .......Read the full article here
There has been a lot of anger and frustration in the ranks of the Arsenal fans for the last couple of days. It has been tough, with no significant late deals coming to fruition, injuries piling up and Spurs, to paraphrase Roy Keane, letting you down as usual and allowing Manchester City to leapfrog the Gunners on to the top of the Premier League.
Arsene Wenger has come in for some serious stick from some fans, for his failure to sign a striker but mainly for being too cheap to pay the money required to get the young German target Julian Draxler. But Draxler himself has shed a different light on the reasons, as reported by the Mirror, and revealed on German TV that it was the Schalke side that scuppered the move. .......Read the full article here
The Julian Draxler to Arsenal rumour has been the main transfer speculation of the January transfer window, without considering Juan Mata’s move across the BPL. The initial reports over Arsenal’s interest in Draxler were stated back in 2013, even before the window had opened, however upon its opening, the rumour mill went into overdrive as reports succeeded each other by the day. .......Read the full article here
According to media reports, Arsenal have been handed a further boost in the pursuit of Schalke star Julian Draxler. It seems that the young German international has been cleared to return to action after a spell on the sidelines.
Draxler, who was supposedly out for two months with a ruptured tendon, has apparently passed several medical tests in Germany and has been given the all-clear to return to full training from next week, effectively giving Arsene Wenger a bright green light to push the deal to completion as the January transfer window draws to a close. .......Read the full article here
Many football writers are suggesting that the Arsenal manager has realised all of a sudden that he could do with making a signing or two during the January transfer window, which now has less than 48 hours to run. I don’t buy this personally and think that Arsene Wenger and his scouting network have been checking potential signings and getting ready for the crucial last few days.
Maybe the injury recurrence to Aaron Ramsey and the poor performance of Nicklas Bendtner against Coventry has given the Frenchman extra incentive or maybe he has been waiting to see if any new possibilities came up or we suffered a late injury crisis like with Kieran Gibbs last season. .......Read the full article here
You know that football has gone crazy and money has really taken over when you can even consider a 20-year old player to be a `bargain` at around £25 million, but that is what Arsenal will have got if they can sign the Schalke and Germany international starlet Julian Draxler for that amount this month.
According to reports in various media sources, including Sky Sports news, Arsenal are continuing to pursue the talented young attacking midfielder and have representatives over in Germany at the minute talking to people from his Bundesliga club in an attempt to seal the deal this month rather than wait until summer. .......Read the full article here
Why we must be sceptical about the Draxler transfer by KJ
As the transfer window enters its final days, Arsenal are going to be linked to a lot of players and one of them will undoubtedly be Julian Draxler. According to numerous papers including The Telegraph, The Sun, The Mirror & The Daily Mail, the Gunners are close to making a £35m bid for the 20 year old German and he is apparently very keen on the move. But even after all this talk, I still feel very sceptical about this whole transfer and I’ll tell you why. .......Read the full article here
