Arsenal transfer rumours June 8th – Asamoah, Senderos, Assulin, Kjaer and Sol Campbell 23

Posted on June 08, 2010 by admin

There is lots of Arsenal transfer news around today, and I haven’t headlined with Laurent Koscielny as it looks like his deal is just about done and dusted except for the two clubs to agree a price. Francis Coquelin, who looks chalked in to go the other way, admitted yeaterday that Arsenal were in talks with Lorient..

Switzerland coach pleased that Senderos left Arsenal 2

The Switzerland natonal team coach, Ottmar Hitzfeld, is glad that Phillipe Senderos has left the Emirates to join Everton, and believes the defender will be an integral part of his team at the World Cup Finals in South Africa this summer.

Hitzfeld said: “I usually do not cap players that do not play very regularly at their clubs. But with Philippe I have created some sort of exception – due to some exceptional facts – and he never disappointed when he was on the pitch.

“Of course, I was pleased when he moved to Everton.

Wenger wants Wilshere to go to Burnley, but Jack will decide! 1

The Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has announced that the talented Englishman Jack Wilshere will be going out on loan in the next few days, and thinks that Burnley is a “good opportunity” for the 18 year-old.

“We have interest from Premier League teams,” said Wenger. “It will be decided today or tomorrow. Burnley is an opportunity.

“At the end of the day, Wilshere will have his word to say, because he needs to decide where he likes to go.”

Arsenal transfer gossip Jan 24th – Victor Moses, Chris Smalling and Senderos 22

The Switzerland defender Phillipe Senderos seems to have sealed his move to Everton as I foretold in last nights Senderos post, and it was confirmed today on the Everton website.

Their statement said: “Everton and Arsenal have agreed a deal to bring Swiss international defender Philippe Senderos to Goodison Park,”

“The formalities of the transfer will be finalised in the next 48 hours and Senderos will be on Merseyside this afternoon to watch his new team in action against Birmingham in the FA Cup fourth round.”

Everton set to finalise Senderos loan deal 1

Posted on January 23, 2010 by admin

According to a report this morning from the Liverpool Echo, the Arsenal defender Phillipe Senderos is close to securing his desired move away from the Emirates. They report that talks are at an advanced stage and the Switzerland internatonal will become David Moyes second signing of this transfer window after the Ameican striker Landon Donovan arrived last week.

This is the second time that Moyes has been close to acquiring Senderos, after talks with Arsenal broke down last summer because Everton refused to match Arsenal’s asking price.

Liverpool offer Ryan Babel in exchange for Senderos! Or will he go to Everton? 14

The Phillipe Senderos saga continues to fascinate the papers on the day that Arsenal go top of the League. Arsene Wenger admitted yesterday that Celtic was a possible destination for the Switzerland defender, but the player himself decided to hold out for a better offer from a bigger team (Bigger than Celtic? Hmm…)

After Senderos said that he was going to wait to see what other offers materialised, the Celtic manager Tony Mowbray tried to play down his interest in him.

Arsenal transfer rumours Dec 19th – Canales, Senderos, Huntelaar and Mandzukic 9

Posted on January 19, 2010 by admin

There has been an interesting day regarding Arsenal transfer news, but to be honest, none of it sounds promising. The news that Sergio Canales father (and agent) met with Arsenal representatives is just about the only hope I have that there could be a good signing to come in the next couple of weeks.

The gossip that the Dinamo Zagreb striker Mario Mandzukic was being considered has been shot down by Wenger. When asked if there was any truth in the rumours he said simply: “No,”

“You will hear a few names until the end of the transfer window without there being any truth in it.”

Senderos – Thanks for the offer Celtic, but no thanks! 3

Posted on January 18, 2010 by admin

The Arsenal defender Phillipe Senderos has admitted that he is flattered by Celtic’s offer to take him to Scotland on loan until the end of the season, but he has other possibilities that he would like to explore before agreeing to a move to Glasgow.

“At this moment, I am still an Arsenal player, so they will have the final decision,’ said Senderos.”I am very honoured that a big club like Celtic are interested in me and, personally, a loan deal right now would suit me perfectly.

Arsenal transfer rumours Jan 18th – Chris Smalling, Mesut Ozil, Senderos and Szczesny 14

Posted on January 18, 2010 by admin

With Arsene Wenger revealing that injuries are taking their toll on his team, the papers are full of Arsenal transfer news this morning.

I have already covered the Phillipe Senderos to Celtic story earlier, but there is another couple of bits of gossip around. The newest name to be bandied around is the young Fulham defender Chris Smalling. The Daily Mirror reports that Wenger has offered £7m for the big talented defender.

He could be the long-term replacement for William Gallas and would add some height to the notoriously small Arsenal team. Whether Fulham will be willing to let him go is another matter!

Wenger – Senderos may leave, because he doesn’t want to play! 15

Posted on January 15, 2010 by admin

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that the Switzerland defender Phillipe Senderos will probably leave this month, but he didn’t do much to help him find a new club when he said that “his aim is not to play football”!

Everyone was under the impression that Wenger had a problem with Senderos because he never picked him for any games at all, but according to Wenger the problems it was the attitude of Senderos himself that stopped him playing.

“I don’t know,” said Wenger. “It depends on his choice and the opportunities he will have.

Arsenal transfer rumours Jan 13th – Zarate, Chamakh, Galindo, Senderos and Sol Campbell 10

Posted on January 13, 2010 by admin

Ther is lots of Arsenal transfer news about today, and the one that has shocked Arsenal fans the most (from looking at the blogs) is the news that Sol Cambell has been signed on a temporary contract until the end of the season. I have seen various figures relating to his paypacket, but it seems like he will be earning between £20,000 and £50,000 a week, which is not bad for a 30+ defender!

This signing would seem to signal the end of Phillipe Senderos’ career at the Emirates, and he was seen begging for a move on Sky Sports. We can expect news on that one very shortly I expect.

Senderos asks Wenger for January transfer 7

Posted on December 04, 2009 by admin

The Arsenal and Switzerland defender Phillipe Senderos has had enough of being ignored by Arsene Wenger since his return from his loan period at Milan, and is desperate to win back his place in his national team before next summer’s World Cup Finals, so he knows that he will have to leave the Emirates to achieve that goal.

“I have held a meeting with Arsene Wenger and I hope the door has been opened for me to leave Arsenal in January,” Senderos said.

“I need to play regularly if I am to make the 2010 World Cup with Switzerland.
