Arsenal’s summer spending spree hasn’t gone to plan at all for Arsene Wenger and his transfer team. Whichever way you see it, being the club lying to the fans in a plot to continue to sell season tickets and merchandise, or whether Arsenal have genuinely tried but been extremely unlucky, at the end of the day we still find ourselves under a week away from the closure of the summer transfer window with just one addition to our name. .......Read the full article here
It’s well known to most that Arsenal are on the lookout for a defensive midfielder this summer, after being without a true player for this position ever since the glory days. Many have tried but most have failed, fortunately things look set to change, as Wenger seems to have lined up his options to fill the void in the near future.
According to reports Arsenal have agreed a fee, rumoured to be around the £17 million mark, with Bayern Munich over the transfer of Brazilian defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo. And although the likelihood is that the Gustavo reports are true (we hope), another target rumoured to be under Arsene Wenger’s radar is Geoffrey Kondogbia. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal might try and sign Geoffrey Kondogbia by Kash
The Arsenal targets are coming thick and fast and now according to both Sky Sports and the Daily Mail, Arsenal have rekindled their interest in signing 20 year old Geoffrey Kondogbia.
He is currently a player of Sevilla who along with the majority of the clubs in La Liga, are strapped for cash. The whole Spanish football infrastructure is falling apart all around us and a lot of people including Wenger foresaw this – now he can exploit this opportunity even further (after acquiring Cazorla and Monreal from cash-needy Malaga). .......Read the full article here
I am sure that Arsenal are keeping track of the situation with Geoffrey Kondogbia, and he may be the reason why the Gunners have not pushed on for any of the defensive midfield targets so far. Real Madrid had been strong favourites to sign Kondogbia, but some reports in the Spanish media yesterday were very encouraging about the chances of Arsenal capturing the 20-year old French international.
Kondogbia is currently starring alongside the new Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo in the under 20 World Cup. He had a fantastic debut season in La Liga for Sevilla, attracting the interest of a number of top clubs including Arsenal and Real Madrid. Kondogbia is a strong and powerful player with a great engine and technical ability, and has been compared to a young Patrick Vieira. .......Read the full article here
There are reports circulating especially in Spain that as soon as Arsenal sign Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid, the Gunners will also try to sign Sevilla’s Alvaro Negredo to complete their strike force for a really strong title challenge next season.
The deal for Higuain is pretty much a certainty now that Juventus have signed Carlos Tevez, because Juve were the only other club seriously competing for the Argentine hitman who is expected to complete his £22M deal in the coming days, although the waiting is starting to really get to most Gooners. .......Read the full article here
Navas, Dragovic and Son is not a removal company by the way, it is three different football players who have been linked with a possible summer transfer switch to Arsenal. Arsene Wenger and the club will have a good idea of the players they want to sign this summer, but a lot could still depend on where we finish in the table.
Jesus Navas, the Spanish international winger, has been linked with the Gunners before. He is fast, tricky and provides great service to the attack, which is something we really need. The standard of crossing at the Emirates this season has been appalling and is one of the main reasons, I think, that Olivier Giroud has not scored a lot more goals. .......Read the full article here
The last time that Arsenal won a major trophy was the 2005 FA cup final. Patrick Vieira scored the winning penalty against Manchester United in the shoot out, but that was his last of nearly 400 competitive matches for the club. Some might say that Arsenal have never adequately replaced the dynamic Frenchman, but that may be about to change this summer.
According to the Sun, Arsenal face strong competition from Chelsea, Man City and Real Madrid for the player seen as the next Patrick Vieira. Geoffrey Kondogbia, who plays for Sevilla in the Spanish Primera Liga, has a very similar game to the former Gunner. He is the same age as Vieira was when he signed from Juventus, and is also an under-21 French international player. .......Read the full article here
Arsene Wenger’s list of potential transfer targets for Arsenal may just have got longer, because the Spanish international striker Alvaro Negredo has opened the door to a possible move to the Premier League this summer. The 27-year old has been the undisputed star of the Sevilla side since he joined in 2009, but the club have struggled both financially and on the pitch this season and Negredo seems ready to move on.
“I’ve always said it and I’ve never tried to keep it hidden,” Negredo told Cadena COPE radio station. “The Premier League is a league that I like. I don’t know if it’s now, maybe a bit later, or tomorrow but I will play there. .......Read the full article here
It seems that Negredo is being offered as a transfer by the main man from Sevilla. Jose María del Nido is in London since yesterday, and he is in contact with Arsenal, but the cost of his transfer plus a four and a half year contract request seems to suit Spurs more than us. A well built central striker at just under six feet in old money, and he certainly knows where the goal is, being top scorer for Sevilla. .......Read the full article here
Alvaro Negredo opened the way for his transfer to the Premier league, and it is believed that Arsenal and their North London rivals Tottenham are the two teams most likely to take advantage. The president of his Primera Liga club, Sevilla, has been in London since yesterday, apparently speaking with officials of the clubs about the terms of the striker’s transfer.
Despite stating that they were not looking to sign a striker in the January transfer window, Tottenham have spoken to Jose Maria Del Nido, according to the Daily Mail. The opportunity to sign Negredo, who helped Spain to win Euro 2012 and has been in fantastic form this season, is seriously tempting, especially if his reported price tag of around £15 million is correct. .......Read the full article here
Arsene Wenger has been hugely impressed with the way his two Spanish players have settled in at Arsenal. Both Mikel Arteta and Santi Cazorla have done very well since coming to the Emirates, and Wenger has spoken about the fantastic technical ability that Spanish players have drilled into them from a young age. Wenger also spoke recently about what a bargain Swansea found in Michu, and he knows that many Spanish clubs are struggling financially so may be open to selling some of their stars. .......Read the full article here
Arsenal are stepping up their interest in two of the Spanish international side, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo, who play in the capital of Andalusia with Sevilla FC. It is a fiercely proud club and has enjoyed success in the past, winning the Spanish Copa Del Rey two years ago and winning two UEFA cups in a row in 2006 and 2007.
At the minute, however, Sevilla are struggling financially and are faced with the necessity of selling some of their best players to balance the books. Arsene Wenger did a similar thing in the summer with Santi Cazorla and Malaga, and that has been a fantastic move for the Gunners. .......Read the full article here
