Arsenal have been looking for a dynamic midfielder, and they have been alerted to the availability of Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan. The 28-year old captain of Holland has fallen out with his bosses at the Serie A club, who want him to take a pay cut on his current contract which lasts until 2015. The Dutchman has refused, so has been dropped from the side, having made just three league appearances all season.

The worldwide trade union for professional footballers, Fifpro, has highlighted an alarming trend in the way clubs deal with players who are nearing the end of their contract, one example is the Arsenal transfer target Fernando Llorente who plays, or rather doesn’t, for Athletic Bilbao.
Fifpro have also highlighted the case of the Dutch international midfielder, Wesley Sneijder, who is under contract with the Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan. The 28-year old has a contract with Inter until 2015, so no problem there you would think. In an incredible move, the club want Sneijder to extend that deal for another year, but pay him no extra money. According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Sneijder has told his club Inter Milan that they should move quickly and fight off interest from other suitors to try and sign Barcelona player Ibrahim Affelay. Reports over the summer have seen Afellay linked with a move away from Camp Nou, with Arsenal being named as the favourites to land the Dutchman, whilst Italian giants Inter Milan are also linked with the player. .......Read the full article here

Arsenal, as usual, are being linked with many a player. For a while now we’ve been linked with one particularly interesting character by the name of Rondon; a 6ft 1in 22 y/o Venezuelan international who plays for Malaga in La Liga. Personally, I think Rondon is most likely going to go to Chelski as a replacement for Drogba but I could well be wrong about that (but I doubt it). Rondon is a very good striker, and actually brandishes many of the same attributes that Drogba possesses (possessed). Again, I don’t think Arsenal are actually going for him and rightly so, he wouldn’t have anywhere to fit in (and don’t sit there and think, “oh well he can sit on the bench and Chamakh can piss off”, Rondon is not someone who is going to sit on the bench. .......Read the full article here
