Montpellier coach urges the home fan to make it difficult for the Arsenal players by AM

Despite being fully aware of the problems that this Arsenal team can cause to his side, Coach Rene Girard is hoping that the fans can help them get over it.

Montpellier, who won the French league remarkably, have struggled to get off the mark this season. They are currently lying in the bottom half of the table and will have to pull up their socks if they can dream of getting anything from the match against a high flying Arsenal team.

French defender admits Arsenal transfer talks 31

Posted on August 18, 2012 by admin

As usual Arsene Wenger is preparing to surprise everyone in the transfer market by lining up a relatively unknown defender playing in France. Cheikh M’Bengue is the first-choice left-back at Toulouse in Ligue 1 and came through the ranks at the Southern French team after joining them when he was just seven years of age.

He has always been rated highly in France and after making 21 appearances for the French U21 side, he opted to play for his parents country Senegal as a full international and made his debut last year.

M’Bengue made it quite clear that Arsenal were talking to Toulouse and admitted that it cames as a surprise to him. He said: “I do not expect it.

Who to watch out for next season? by KJ

As I write this article, Arsenal have just touched down in Germany with the possibility of our newest signing, Santi Cazorla walking off that plane. What an exciting prospect this is. To watch our new Spaniard in action on the weekend is just breath-taking. However, nothing is confirmed yet so let’s remain grounded but one thing is certain, Cazorla is definitely an Arsenal player.

Wenger’s injury update – Wilshere is our only bad surprise 23

Posted on August 12, 2011 by admin

With all the never-ending Arsenal transfer rumours about Fabregas and Nasri it has been a bit easy to forget that Arsenal have a very important game coming up this weekend, and amazingly Arsene Wenger has found time to give as an injury update ahead of the match.

He is of the opinion that the squad is in better shape than most other pre-seasons, and said: “During pre-season we were more disturbed by transfer noise than injuries. We already knew that Diaby would not start the season, but he is improving steadily.

All Signs Point to Wenger Spending Big by Max Baker

As many of you have probably figured out, Arsene Wenger is a stubborn individual and one who does not like to admit it when he is wrong. However, he seems different this off-season and maybe the manager has had a revelation regarding Arsenal’s transfer policy. I honestly think he has come to the realization that his buying of young, cheap, and inexperienced players isn’t working out.

Now let me explain my reasons for feeling this way and the first one is very simple, Arsene Wenger understands football and although he hates admitting any wrong doing anyone who has the football brain of Wenger has to recognize Arsenal’s frailties in defense and, more importantly, mental strength.

Wenger making move for free-agent ex-Gunner! 21

Posted on June 05, 2011 by admin

There is a very strange report today saying that Arsene Wenger is keen to bring the ex-Arsenal midfielder Sebastian Larsson, who has just been released by Birmingham after the Midlands club were relegated.

Larsson spent two years at Arsenal before going to Birmingham (originally on loan) but only made three starts for the Gunners,so it is surprising that the People reports that Wenger is hoping to take the Swedish international back to the Emirates.

They reckon that Wenger is willing to let him return on the understanding that he will only be a squad player, and if he’s looking for first team football then he will have to look elsewhere.

Vermaelen Could Make Surprise Appearance Against Stoke 21

Posted on May 06, 2011 by admin

Arsenal’s Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen could make a surprise return to the team just as the season draws to a close. The 25-year-old has had a horrid season in which he has missed most of the Gunners’ campaign due to injury. After a great first season at the club he suffered an Achilles injury while on international duty with Belgium. He was thought to only be out for a short while, but as with many other Arsenal players, weeks turned into months.

On the 26th of April Vermaelen played his first 90 minutes of football in 8 months when he took to the pitch in a reserves game against Manchester United. Now he may be able to take part in the remainder of Arsenal’s season, although there is little left to play for.

Eboue to Tottenham? 27

Posted on April 07, 2011 by admin

In one of the weirdest Arsenal transfer rumours I’ve heard for years, the Daily Mirror is suggesting that Harry Redknapp is planning to take the Arsenal reserve Emmanuel Eboue to White Hart Lane.

Despite Arsene Wenger saying that Eboue is an integral part of the team, he has only made six starts for the Gunners in the Premiership this season, and there are rumours that he is refusing to renew his contract at the Emirates.

Harry Redknapp has already brought in the ex-Arsenal captain William Gallas last summer on a free transfer, and if Eboue moved and played as well as Gallas it would certainly be a kick in the teeth for Arsenal fans. They have had a tempestuous relationship with Eboue over the years, but after his improved performances in the last 12 months he has become a fans favourite.

Eduardo – Our Brazilians can surprise Arsenal 18

Posted on October 18, 2010 by admin

Shakhtar Donetsk may not be one of the European powerhouses, but they are building up a good reputation in Europe with yearly appearances in the Champions League. They have also rebuilt the team with a Brazilian heartbeat, with no less than seven Brazilians in the side if you count the Brazilian-born Croatian international Eduardo.

With a 100% record so far in the Group Stages the Ukrainian champs are hardly going to be pushovers, and Eduardo believes that they can win at least one of the legs against the Gunners.

The ex-Arsenal star admitted that he had been discussing his old team’s weaknesses with new boss Mircea Lucescu: “We’ve talked a bit about the forthcoming games,” he said.

Braga striker warns Arsenal “We’re not just tourists!” 17

Posted on September 14, 2010 by admin

Sporting Braga’s Brazilian striker Mattheus thinks that Arsenal are in for a surprise tomorrow night if they underestimate the Portugese underdogs, and the 27 year-old fully believes that Braga can take the points at the Emirates!

“We have already achieved our first success of the season by reaching the group stages of the Champions League,” Mattheus said.

“But that is not enough. Braga are not just going into this as tourists. Now, we want to travel across Europe and win.

“Arsenal are the favourites to win the match and the group – but we can spring a big surprise.

“Nobody thought we could beat Sevilla, either.”
