Swansea v Arsenal: Neil’s Player Ratings – What’s wrong with Theo? 62

Just keep this going Arsene! by NS

Hey Wenger It’s nice to see that you are being ruthless. That’s what you need to do sometimes. I felt sorry for Mozart, he deserves a game but Ramsey had a good game.

Fabulouski 7: Never really troubled. Didn’t even move for Michi’s effort which was a worry. Aside from that, he was very vocal and his positional play was excellent.

Jenkinson 7: Played a dreadful ‘suicide’ ball across the back four early on. I’m sure he’s already learned from that. After that, he was strong enough to recover mentally and put in a good performance.

Arsenal MUST go on the Attack at Chelsea says Wilshere 43

Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face Chelsea in a game that could have a huge saying on the season for both clubs. The Gunners are coming off the back of the best performance in a while, knowing that a win will put us just five points behind Chelsea with a game in hand. The Blues, on the other hand, are in a bad way. The Blues have lost two and drawn one of their last three home games against Southampton, Swansea and QPR.

Arsenal sign five Brits – but not Walcott! 32

Posted on December 19, 2012 by admin

It is now looking more and more likely that Theo Walcott will be leaving Arsenal as the Gunners manager has made an announcement that he has persuaded FIVE you British players to sign new long term contract extensions at the Emirates, but Theo Walcott was definitely not one of them.

Wenger said: “We are delighted that these five young players have all signed new long-term contracts. The plan is to build a team around a strong basis of young players, in order to get them to develop their talent at the Club. Jack is certainly the best known, the leader of this group – but the other four players are exceptional footballers, and we’re very happy that we could conclude their new deals at the same time.

Arsenal wingers to win it for England 17

The England manager Roy Hodgson is going to take a leaf out of Arsene Wenger’s book when his team line up at Wembley tonight against international minnows San Marino. Along with using Wenger’s formation, Hodgson will start with two of the Arsenal players who are used to it.

Theo Walcott looks set to start on the right with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the left. Wayne Rooney, the England captain for the game, will be asked to play his more deep lying striker role that Santi Cazorla does so well for the Gunners.

Arsenal should not underestimate the value of Theo Walcott 57

The Theo question: by SV

Saturday was a perfect display of how frustrating Theo can be, and also of how devastating and penetrative he can be. He suffered a poor start to the game though, if I’m honest, I think that how poor the start was is being greatly exaggerated. In the second half, however, he came into his own and quite simply tore Spurs to pieces. The debate is whether or not Arsenal should keep the speed merchant for his quality, or ship him out for his supposed inconsistency.

Walcott content with form for Arsenal – Is he now considered as important as Van Persie? 25

Posted on November 21, 2011 by admin

The Gunners’ return to European contention in seventh place – and just three points from third – may have been almost solely attributed to freescoring Robin Van Persie, but the Dutchman himself has unselfishly claimed that his relationship with Theo Walcott is the foundation for such an attacking threat. This is understandable, considering Walcott’s contribution to Van Persie’s century of goals with fifteen of the assists – the most of any Arsenal player.

Chelsea fancy Walcott – Would he go? 33

Posted on November 14, 2011 by admin

Following the likes of Juventus and Barcelona, Chelsea are reported to have targeted Arsenal pace merchant Theo Walcott for the second time after having shown interest in the player earlier this year.

Arsenal fans have often grown frustrated at his lack of impact at times, often unable to finish with a direct-enough cross or shot after having completed his trademark sprints past the defence. Walcott feels that he is being played out of position on the wing, but these kinds of runs do suggest that he has the potential to outclass even the best full-backs. He has certainly proved this, boasting the majority of assists for Robin Van Persie’s century of goals, and the apparent £25 million the Blues are willing to spend on the Englishman does highlight his class.

Theo Walcott Wants To Play Up Front 22

Posted on September 24, 2011 by admin

Theo Walcott has held talks with Arsene Wenger about switching positions from right wing to a central striking role and believes he can offer so much more to the team in such a role.

Speaking yesterday Walcott said, “I had a meeting with the boss and explained my point of view. He knew the conversation would come up and was very happy to talk about it. He says he’ll give me a chance there at the right time, and I’m dying for it to happen, but he knows exactly what he is doing and obviously I trust him.

Theo Walcott – “We Need To Start Doing It On The Pitch” 14

Posted on September 23, 2011 by admin

Arsenal have come in for a lot of criticism this season, and rightly so after their worst start for 58 years, but Theo Walcott reckons the players should be to blame and not boss Arsene Wenger.

Speaking to Absolute Radio today Walcott said, “The boss is a great man, he can deal with anything thrown at him. He’s been at the club for over 15 years and so he’s not under any pressure at all. Us players, we need to look at ourselves and start doing it on the pitch, to be honest.”

Juventus tracking Theo Walcott? 29

Posted on May 18, 2011 by admin

The Arsenal transfer rumours are coming thick and fast as the transfer window approaches, and some are more believable than others. The Metro today reckons that the Italian giants Juventus (who are on course to end up 7th in Serie A) are looking for a complete overhaul of the team, and Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is apparently one of their top targets.

It seems they have a VERY adventurous shopping list to revitalise the team (and they must have a LOT of money if they want all these big names) which consists of Walcott, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, Franck Ribery and Sergio Aguero.

Wenger – Eduardo is improving, and Walcott will be okay….one day! 0

Posted on January 05, 2010 by admin

Arsene Wenger believes that the Croatian striker Eduardo will end up as an integral part of the Arsenal team again this season, and thinks that he is returning to his previous form.

“He has done much more than I expected from him at the start of the season,” said Wenger.

“If we keep him injury free I’m sure he will be an important part in our season.

“When he came back he was quite sharp after he had a little dip. Now he is coming back to his normal level.”
