Wenger should be an Arsenal scout and watch Benteke against Chelsea! 49

Wenger should fire up Benteke! by NS

I’ve just finished watching the Chelsea vs Spurs game. I am so relieved. Like a man who ate a curry in Bombay and went on a 37 hour bus journey. I needed that relief.

That draw was good for Arsenal and despite my anger at Adebayor playing like Pele simply due to the fact he wanted to upset us, I am most pleased.

So, Neil? What’s all this Benteke stuff?

Well, the Chavs play Villa at Villa Park on Saturday evening. Villa are not yet safe. Villa have 10 points from their last six home games. Not too bad.

Wilshere is desperate to win trophies with Arsenal 18

Posted on April 16, 2013 by admin

Our very own young superstar Jack Wilshere is hoping to drive Arsenal on to win trophies in the next few years, and he is in no way happy to just fight for third or fourth place in the Premiership, and he sees no reason why this team can’t achieve that.

He was asked if he was happy that Arsenal have finally moved above Spurs into Third position in the table, and he replied: “It’s great, especially considering the position we were in before,”

“We’ve shown a lot of character. But while it’s good to look at now, we want to be better than that. We don’t want to be happy with third in the league.

Wigan v Arsenal Preview – Arsenal could jump into Third Place? 80

Wigan Athletic VS Arsenal Match Preview by AH

Arsenal will look to make it three consecutive wins when we face Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium in this Saturdays 12.45 PM kick off. Arsenal performed well against struggling Reading and will hope to continue their return to form against Wigan, who themselves are not doing too well recently.

Despite what people think, Wigan is not an easy game and this was witnessed last season with The Latics beating us 2-1 at the Emirates last season. We did however impress in the corresponding game, running out as 4-0 winners however we cannot afford to underestimate this team. The Latics have gained just four points from the 6 games leaving them in the relegation zone and so they will be looking to grab some points from this game and haul themselves out of the bottom three.

Arsenal can thank Martin Fulop for a great end to the season! 76

Arsene Wenger ‘very proud’ of his team by BA

I think if you look at the season as a whole, we lost only two of the last 16 games and created a fantastic run. In the end we finished with 70 points, which is respectable, and we qualify for the Champions League for the 15th consecutive year. Of course we are very proud of that, especially this season having started where we started. We had problems getting over the line and you could see that again today.

Adam Kemp – So ends another season of mediocrity under Wenger 167

This season has been a complete failure and if you think otherwise then you’re just unambitious! by Adam Kemp

I can hear the accolades now as the once almighty Arsenal scrape third place by victory over West Brom. To even dare to consider this an achievement reflects on how far this clubs reputation has diminished over the past seven seasons. This once great title challenging club has been battling it out with the likes of Tottenham for Champions League qualification bragging rights all season and this is unacceptable considering the history that this club has. It is atrocious to finish yet another season empty handed without even challenging for honours. I still believe that Arsene Wenger has certainly taken us as far as he can and we need someone new to come in and be given an opportunity.

Wengers verdict on this season – One of the best! 37

Posted on May 13, 2012 by admin

Arsenal have a fight on their hands today at West Brom to secure a Champions League place for the 16th season in a row, and there has been many pundits this season saying that this is the “worst Arsenal team” during Wenger’s reign, but the Frenchman himself thinks that the public have got it all wrong

“It is the public perception because we played for a long time in the season in a very bad position,” he said. “After seven games we had lost four. If you lose four in your first seven you are down there.

Van Persie won’t leave Arsenal for anyone except Barcelona? 43

Posted on May 10, 2012 by admin

There have been a lot of recent Arsenal rumours linking Robin Van Persie with a move to the Serie A Champions Juventus, but the Gunners captain has apparently let it be known (via today’s Mail) that he would not consider a move to the Italian giants as a “step up” from Arsenal, despite the words of the Juve general director Giuseppe Marotta.

“Van Persie is a great player,” said Marotta. “He is a complete player and would be useful to any team. But he still has one year left in his contract with Arsenal.

“We will try to put the icing on the cake this summer but the important thing is that the mix is good.”

Arsenal to hold talks with M’Vila this weekend 67

Posted on May 08, 2012 by admin

It is being reported this morning that Arsenal are closing in on their second-top transfer target Yann M’Vila after securing Lukas Podolski last week. Preliminary talks are being held this weekend between Arsenal representatives and M’Vila and his agents to find out the demands of the club and player.

The Mirror’s respected football expert John Cross reports that the Italian giants Inter Milan are also set to hold negotiations with M’Vila, but the young Frenchman is said to be keen to move to the Premier League, and to play in the Champions League if possible, so Arsenal easily hold the advantage over Inter.

How many chances do Arsenal need to secure Third Place? 49

Posted on May 07, 2012 by admin

This has been one of the most rollercoaster seasons I have ever known, and for Arsenal it has been even more up-and-down than for other clubs. The depths of anguish at the beginning of the season when Arsenal were as low as 17th after gaining just 7 points from their first 7 games made it look like the season was over before it had begun, but Arsene Wenger dragged the team back up the table.

Arsenal don’t deserve a Champions League spot with that team 263

What is it with Arsenal and their uual end-of-season collapse? What is it with Ramsey and Gibbs being preferred to Santos and Oxlade-Chamberlain. What happened to Szczesny’s safe hands?

Arsenal take the lead after a minute but by half-time they had managed to turn it around to a 2-1 reversal by half-time, but when Robin Van Persie did his usual life-saving (and game-saving) double, it looked like Arsenal had managed to pull back to a winning position.

But with Sagna off the pitch, a back four of Coquelin, Koscielny, Vermaelen and Gibbs always looked vulnerable, and so it proved when Norwich shocked the Arsenal fans (and the gesticulating Wenger) with another equaliser to level the match.

A bad night for Arsenal all round…. (Final games analysis) 59

Posted on May 03, 2012 by admin

Arsenal have had a lot of results go in their favour in the last few months as they have struggled to hold onto the Third Qualifying place for the Champions League, and after taking just two points from the last nine the Gunners are running out of breathing space at the top.

Bolton (with Fabrice Muamba’s support) failed to contain Tottenham at the Reebok and were destroyed 4-1, while Newcastle had a (very) unexpected 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge thanks to a brilliant double from Papiss Cisse. This means that Chelsea can ONLY make next seasons Champions League by beating Bayern Munich in the Final.

Wenger admits Arsenal need another top class striker this summer 129

Posted on April 30, 2012 by admin

After Arsenal’s awful start to the season, all Gooners should be proud of the way that Arsene Wenger has managed to turn things around to get the Gunners back into the Top Four.

But the fact remains that if super-captain Robin Van Persie had not stayed fit all season then it would have been an even bigger uphill battle to stay amongst the Champions League elite, especially given the Dutchman’s injury history.

Wenger today agreed that he desperately wanted Robin to help Arsenal secure the coveted Third Place, but also admitted that he needed to bring in another top quality striker to ease the pressure on Van Persie.
