Arsenal VS Newcastle Preview by AH

Tomorrow Arsenal face Newcastle in the day’s 5.30PM kick off at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal are on a 3 game winning streak and we will be looking to continue our rise to form against a team that, despite their poor run of form, have a very impressive team.

Newcastle were unlucky to be beaten by Manchester United in a 4-3 thriller at Old Trafford. Newcastle were set to come away with a point, which they rightfully deserved, however another late Javier Hernandez goal meant they slipped down the table back into 15th place.

Arsenal have bid accepted for Newcastle’s Cabaye! 250

Posted on August 31, 2012 by admin

Well it is about time that Arsenal fans had something to cheer about today, as Sky Sports are reporting right now that the Gunners have put in a bid for Yohan Cabaye, and Newcastle have accepted it!

So now Arsenal have a couple of hours to agree personal terms and check him over before the window shuts. Cabaye has been linked with Arsenal for the last few days after it was originally assumed that we were after his midfield Toon team-mate Chieck Tiote – but it seems that those rumours were wide of the mark.

Arsenal to move for Newcastle midfielder 83

Posted on August 27, 2012 by Bob

Arsenal are apparently preparing a £15 million offer for a midfielder from Newcastle United, but it is not the one we were expecting. Most Arsenal fans believe that a strong defensive midfielder is the priority for the Gunners, and we were being linked with Newcstle’s 26-year old Ivorian Cheick Tiote who is a tough tackling midfielder.

Arsene Wenger poured cold water on to that suggestion after yesterday’s match after he was asked directly about Tiote.

“Tiote is a good player but he is not on his way to Arsenal.”

Wenger- Arsenal lack an understanding up front 67

Posted on August 26, 2012 by Bob

Arsene Wenger gave his reaction to the second goalless draw in a row, and believes that Arsenal should have got a win, but that the goals will soon come. It is just a matter of the players getting used to each other and clicking together, rather than not having the right players.

“We are used to finding each other blind in the final third and there is still something missing.

“It is an understanding, because you have Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud. One month ago they didn’t know each other, so that will come.”

Arsenal’s midfield targets – A statistical comparison of M’Vila, Tiote and Capoue 50

Potential Arsenal Targets by AH

As we are on the lookout for a new midfielder since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona, I thought I would take a look at the statistics of three of our defensive midfield transfer targets.

The three players I will be comparing are;

Yann M’Vila, a French international, who currently plays for Stade Rennes in the French first division. The defensive midfielder, has been linked with a move to Arsenal all summer and the departure of Song, has made it ever more likely. Rennes reportedly want £12 million for M’Vila.

The Gunners up their interest in Newcastle Duo by TS

Reports have come in today that Arsenal are being linked with moves for Newcastle United midfield duo Cheick Tiote and Yohan Cabaye before the transfer window closes on Friday night. AW is believed to announce a bid of £15m for Tiote in an effort to replace Alex Song. The Ivorian who earns £40k a week at Newcastle is expected to receive a pay rise which Wenger believes will tempt him to move. Tiote is aware of Arsenal’s interest and reports suggest that Arsenal are set to make a bid once today’s home game with Stoke is out of the way.

Are Arsenal chasing £20m-rated top-class midfielder? Fellaini? Dembele? 147

Arsenal could be after a £20m+ midfielder! by KJ

The ever reliable @AFCAMDEN has released some more inside info on how Wenger is planning his final assault on the transfer market. Here are his specific tweets:

“Wenger’s on the look out for “A top, top class midfielder”. Looking to spend up to £20m on the right player. Reluctant to buy average/unproven”

Wenger would’ve bought by now; money available, options out there. I’ve got the feeling he’s after someone he thought he couldn’t get.

Who will be Arsenal’s new defender? 39

Arsene’s defender chase by AH

At the moment we have two defensive injures with both Laurent Koscienly and Bacary Sagna sidelined through injury. Koscienly is expected to return for the upcoming game against Stoke City on Sunday, whilst Sagna will be out of the first team for a number of weeks, as he continues to recover from his second leg break in under a year.

Arsene Wenger, whilst speaking to Arsenal.com, has recognised this, and he revealed he may bring in a defender before the close of the transfer window. Montpellier’s Yanga-Mbwia and Cheikh M’Bengue are reportedly the main targets.

Latest Arsenal Transfer Rumours – Arshavin, Tiote & Biglia by AM

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he would look to bring in at least a defender and a midfielder before the transfer window closes. The rumour mills have busy since then, linking the Gunners with a host of defenders and midfielders.

According to some English media, Arsenal have joined the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in the race for the signature of Chieck Tiote from Newcastle United. Some days back, Alan Pardew  said that –

“We are on our guard in case some really big bid comes in and we need to react because if someone goes out, another player will come in.

Arsenal’s midfield movements by BA

I am sick of talking or even thinking about strikers coming or going at Arsenal so I am going to have a look at the midfield and what is happening at the minute. I am also going to be optimistic and assume that Theo Walcott will stay and we will have plenty of attacking midfield quality.

Firstly, Arsenal and Sao Paulo have agreed a deal that will keep Denilson in Brazil for another season. Arsene Wenger had recalled the 24-year old Brazilian in order to sell him, but was unable to attract a buyer despite the measly £4 million price tag.
