According to a report this morning, Arsene Wenger is lining up a £5million bid for the talented young defender Aymen Abdennour who currently plys his his trade at Toulouse in the French Ligue 1.
The Sun says that Arsenal have been scouting the 22 year-old for the last six months and are now prepared to bring him to the Emirates this summer.
Abdennour has only broken into the Toulouse first team this season, but he has been so impressive that the French club have recently given him a substantial pay rise and a new contract extension in the hope of warding off suitors, but if Arsenal come calling they will be hard pressed to resist a quick profit for a player they signed from Étoile du Sahel for a negligible fee last summer. .......Read the full article here

The Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh has been suffering from a massive loss of form since the middle of last season, but it was being hoped that a sequence of starts for Morocco at the African Cup of Nations may galvanise him to recapture some of his undoubted ability.
But Morocco’s opening game ended in a 2-1 defeat to their North African rivals Tunisia, and Chamakh contributed very little to the game, so little in fact that he was taken off in the second half.
